L&B has changed their plastic mounts to metal now. Drop them a knote and they will send you one. Skydiving is not a static excercise with discrete predictability...

Thanks. I'll give it a try next spring! Skydiving is not a static excercise with discrete predictability...

Rumors I've heard say that Icarus and Precision have parted ways and Precision will no longer build or distribute Icarus products. AND the design and QA problems at Icarus not only affected the Crossfire but virtually all their canopies. Skydiving is not a static excercise with discrete predictability...

I recently saw a guy who had a loop sewed to the front of his slider that allowed him to attach a rubber band to secure his D lines. It looked like a great idea! Has anyone seen anything like this? Is it a viable mod?? Thanks! Skydiving is not a static excercise with discrete predictability...

I've had 4 chops in my time flying and would have probably been dead on 3 if I have an RSL. Most mals ae spinning and you need to get stable be pulling the reserve. My first mal was on a rig with an RSL. The main ripped down the center and I had a line hooked under my container. I was in a violent spin and when I cut away the main became tangled in the reserve pilot. i had a reserve out, but it was twisted all the way into the canopy (thank God it was a round). I had pulled high and got the thing to spin open at about 600'. Pull high and never use an RSL! Skydiving is not a static excercise with discrete predictability...

A marketing stunt like this just "fixes" the real price people will pay for the canopy. After they sell a bunch for $1100.00 who would be willing to pay $1900.00 for one. Precision may be shooting themselves in the foot. Skydiving is not a static excercise with discrete predictability...

Check out Pat Works video and book "The Art of VRW". It's is the best text I have seen to learn the way of freefly. Skydiving is not a static excercise with discrete predictability...

Trent: Point taken, but it is imperative that a jumper learns canopy control in windy conditions. Without prior wind experience, a jumper caught up in a sudden squall can find themself fighting for their life! The rigid toggle control techniques I see used by even experienced jumpers can be catastrophic in high wind gusts. The finese and light toggle control input to keep your canopy inflated and under control in high wind needs to be taught and practiced if you are to become a competent advanced canopy pilot. I'm packing my HW 150 into a Mirage M-2. I have the new "blunt -nose" model (6-2000). I can fly stable in full brakes at a 1.35:1 loading. I seldom hook, but find excellent control and performance and speed on carving turns. Front riser recovery arc seems shorter as compared to the long recovery needed for the earlier shark tooth HW's. As for overall control and stability, I feel much safer with the HW than a Stiletto. ( I have looped this canopy sucessfully!) I would recommend you talk to Roy at Rigs&Things for additional info about the HW. He has quite a bit experience with flying them and selling them. I have a freefly suit with chute assis wings from Tad's Sportswear that lets me sit VERY SLOW. I can fall as slow as the slowest belly flying reptile. cost was about $150.00 US. They are made extremely well..I just ordered a 3rd one from them. Tad's has a web site. Skydiving is not a static excercise with discrete predictability...

The Ninja has been on the Parachutes of France Web site for a while now. My question is how do I get one here in the US? My inquires to vavious distributors said "they do not sell in the US!". Bummer..... Skydiving is not a static excercise with discrete predictability...

I am currently working on an article about the incidence of misfires with the Cypres and Astra AAD and how it compares statistically to the number of saves. I have had contact and correspondence with both companies, but information like the incident you described are not readily available. Would you be so kind to share details of this incident? Sincerely, Kirils imr@neo.rr.com Skydiving is not a static excercise with discrete predictability...

Kris, With the Heatwave it is very important you are square in the harness on opening. You can actually stear the canopy with your hips! That is first and formost for an on heading opening. The second biggest cause of off heading openings occurs when the stabilizers catch wind before a solid center inflation. Tip: pull out the stabilizers and roll them back 180 into the pack toward the nose. Pulling out the center cell may also help. (I needed to do that on my older HW). Let know what happens. Hey ...it is a cool chute once it's open EH? (grin) K Skydiving is not a static excercise with discrete predictability...

As a Heatwave pilot I would definitely say no to it being your first chute. The Hornet would be a great option. Skydiving is not a static excercise with discrete predictability...

Hey, you got a great canopy there. I have been psycho packing mine for apx. 100 jumps now. Great openings as long as I am square in the harness. Tucking in the stabilizers help guarantee an on-heading opening. Good Luck & Safe Skies. Skydiving is not a static excercise with discrete predictability...

I load mine at 1.5 and love it. The fabric is actually heavier than PD fabric. I don't see any reason it shouldn't last for 800-1000 jumps. Skydiving is not a static excercise with discrete predictability...

Check out the Tri packing video from AR. It's one of the best packing videos I've seen. I have psycho-packed my girlfriends 160 Tri and it takes almost grand to open! Slow, and on heading. Skydiving is not a static excercise with discrete predictability...

I have a Reflex container and needed some technical info about mods. Bomber Mfg. (ryan@bombermgf.com) came thru to assist me with the quickest, most competent help I've ever seen. I highly recommend contacting them for service or technical assistance for your Reflex! Skydiving is not a static excercise with discrete predictability...

I have been jumping an AR-11 this year. I had my doubts about performance when I purchased it. I called AR and they said 50% had quirky openings with the rest being great performers. So if you got a good one, you would be a happy camper. I have had no malfunctions with sweet on-heading openings, toggle pressure light, great flare. Front riser usage will lead to some great surfs. When I talked to AR they said they are getting them back all the time for re-lines. A good AR-11 can be quite a buy. Skydiving is not a static excercise with discrete predictability...

I must agree the Triathalon is a great 1st time chute. I would suggest you check out a Hornet as an option. It's the best buy/performer out there for a new jumper. Kirils Skydiving is not a static excercise with discrete predictability...
