How can I comment on something I know nothing about? I am not like you whuffos who seem to comment on aspects of jumping that you know nothing about. For the most part, I have been entertained while reading whuffo comments about our sport. I read the thread for the lulz. I reached out to Bob Knoss by asking him for clarification of his recent posts and you effectively high-jacked the thread and told me to ignore him. I would like him to elaborate on his comments and his references to Jerry Thomas. It appears that they know each other in real life. I want to read their story not your story about their story. I sent Marla a PM to which she never responded. So, again, Mr. Knoss: give us details of your story or give us the details about why you can't give us details. You write that you were there. Actually, I'm disappointed that Marla was scared away so quickly. She added a refreshing divergence from book promotions and such. Oh, wait ... I was considering a parody of self-promoting authors but georger pretty much beat me to the punch. He's right on about your hypocrisy regarding thread stealing. OK! Thank you for a rational response. But...you didn't convey much information. Could you do that? Start at the beginning, listing the characters and the plan overall. I think you recognize that these little tidbits of information and obscure references without explanation smack of someone playing games. Could you explain who, by name or agency, planned this operation? What was the purpose? What do you know about the outcome? Was the money lost? You claim that Duane did the deed so we know that he lived. Tell us about the money. What was the "explanation" he had for not having the money? I'm going to bed. Mr. Knoss: I've been away for almost a week. I come back and I read that you are referring to Mr. Thomas as Terry in one post and Jerry in another. If you really are not dribbling your wine onto your keyboard...as it seems that you are...could you enlighten me with some "real facts" [your term] and maybe some background, and some "real fact", about how you knew Mr. Thomas and what your story is actually all about. I'm sure you realize that your comments make no rational sense when written in what is, essentially, a vacuum. Put all of your stuff together into some context. Please. Thanks! I'm wondering also. I owned a pyrotechnic business years ago and made a few jumps with smoke and other generators but nothing as fancy and high tech as what 'twardo is wearing. I see a light on the helmets which seems to be pointing toward the "controls" on your chest. Could you gives us a few words about all the stuff we can see in that picture? With all the QRN on this channel I'm surprised that you are identifying with CBers. After all, they lobbied and stole our 11 meter band you know! To make matters worse, aren't most of them whuffos? The number of hams following this DBC thread is interesting. My guess is that most will take the position that if DB had walkie-talkies in the paper bag, using them to pinpoint his position to an accomplice on the ground is possible but very unlikely. Given the terrain and relatively low power of the units I don't think communications would be very reliable or even possible. From the air, yes; on the ground, I doubt it. Guru312 I am not DB Cooper

I save words like "brightest" to describe those who, at the very least, can write a cogent sentence which conforms to established rules of grammar, syntax and spelling. Reading Jerry's posts is difficult but I do so because I enjoy a challenge, love doing word scramble puzzles and particularly like doing cryptograms. Jerry, even after rubbing my Mensa card for assistance, I can not parse your sentences for meaning. Are you answering my implied question by saying that you have observed plenty of doctors or that you have observed plenty of parachute-related injuries? I heard it on the radio during a news broadcast within an hour or so of the hijacking. The announcer clearly said "LD" but over the next few days the reports were changed to "DB" Cooper. I asked the guys in my shop who heard the news broadcasts at the same time that I did. They all heard "LD" also. It's just more of the Cooper mystery playing itself out.... Guru312 I am not DB Cooper

If so, that means I was precognitively aware of LD being the hijacker 40 years ago when I wrote "L D Cooper" in my "Parachute lessons for Hijacking and other fun" advertisement?
