BEWARE I got a wicked virus from an email that SAID it was from "skydiveiowa" nothing else no .com or anything. There is an attachment only and in the subject it says Re: other than that there is no subject and nothing written in the email - body, just the attachment. If you click on the attachment - your house will blow up - not really - but dont do it ---- for the curious... FYI- Its called the New_Napster_Site.MP3.zlo(29.0 KB) Just dont open it, and for the Love of God use protection on your computer. Uncle Norton caught it. Remember to delete temp internet files also and cookies while you are at it. I am repeatedly hit with the JS.Exception.Exploit virus. Especially on the 18th, 24th of Feb. and other dates. I personally know from experience that folks who dont even know it are attacked and pass these on innocently. Being raised with zero self esteem and low confidence.... I jumped because I was convienced that I could not do it, period. During a frequent bout with depression, I went. I told no one. I wanted to know if in fact I was a complete lozer as I never did anything right in my whole life. Or so I am lead to believe, up to and including this very morning. I jumped, and I found out that #1 I am not a complete lozer. #2 it took an extreme amout of sefl confidence to do that just now. #3 what depression? I just jumped out of an airplane and flew thru the air and it was the most wonderful thing. #4 regarding trials and tribulations in life- "If you can jump out of an airplane - you can do anything" AirAnn 2000 I now have a non profit org AirAnn.com who gives away Fresh Air awards to persons who keep going despite adversity. Oct winner was pregnant at 17, lived in a church home, got herself accepted into a West Coast college while she was in the church home, gave the baby up for adoption, and 3 months later did a tandem skydive sponsored by AirAnn.com and wrote about her experience. Paracutist Mag Jan 2002, Page 14. It does more for self esteem and confidence than any other thing women have tried. I have spoken to women with lifelong issues of low self esteem and confidence.. 9 out of 10 women I have talked to will tell you this little known fact. The majority continue to skydive because it makes them feel better about themselves. It happens with men too. If your bf is doing this to uplift himself, better himself in anyway, forget that its fun, let him have this freedom. Ours is not to ask why, its just to understand there are things that work and we dont especially know why. Skydiving can make a person happy. Its a fact. Explanations are different for each person. I guarantee you there has never been a time whereby a skydiver has gone over how much he owes for his car, how behind he is on X bill, or anyother dreadful daily experience while in freefall. Point out to me the one of the 8 (and alternates) who wasn’t serious and I will show you the way to the Optician. A certain person with the initials JB, is a legend. The people he jumps with look directly at him in the eyes when the man speaks- and are as serious as a no pull. They don’t even talk during a dirt dive 8 way, or the debrief, or the tape, or the walk on the way to the load. And what do you think they are doing on the way to alt? Swattin flys? If you want the help of these serious skydivers with a forum record – you will have a much better and more respectful chance on a day they are practicing for the record. And yeah, they just don’t go out and pull of a 120 without practice. … and my opinion on the Texas 120 way is–they will make it. Levin is my best friend. He is also one of the top freeflyers in Texas. This group could have used tons of information provided by him. Usually I would report it for him... as he is a guy of few words about his skills, in my former posts its usually Levin this and Levin that. Most of the Houston freeflyers who post here ... Levin taught and helped hone their skills. (Ramon, Trey, myself and others) He has had a camera on his head since jump 100. He is the most careful skydiver I have ever seen. He also has a letter stating that his birdman suit is one of the first in the US. And he knows how to fly it. I am saddend to know that all this has driven us both away. Its not worth it. I may not have the experience that my friend does - but I think that periodically I have contributed some valuable information, if not comic relief.
