Naked Girl? Skydive Venezuela Ad in Parachutist
VampireGirl replied to jumpnaked69's topic in The Bonfire
Have any other ladies out there done this? We're trying to figure out if this is even possible. Thanks! ~a http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_attachment;postatt_id=51628; That's me doing a nekkid jump... :-) www.sneale-create.com -
Yes, it was a pleasant evening! Some new people came, who saw the write-up in The Mag. There weren't that many of us there, but enough to get up to mischeif!! The secret to surviving these evenings is definately arriving late. I don't feel too bad this morning! xx www.sneale-create.com

Cool bananas! Who's going? I will be there from about 8ish. www.sneale-create.com

Such a gorgeous picture! My Mom watched me do my very first tippy toe landing (jump 3) and she loved it too! She has always been supportive, but I never gave her any option to be otherwise, it's my life, my money and my decision. Been trying to get my family to come and watch at the DZ for ages. Every summer I set up a weekend for them, but they never come. I suppose it would be boring for them, but I suppose they wouldn't really want to be there and witness it if something went wrong. www.sneale-create.com

That guarantee is false. Sure it's different, but I never spun up and I was far from a prodigy in the air. don't go looking for problems before they're there. I can agree with this one too! I never had spinning issues, and I'm not superwoman! How you perform in the air is directly related to what you think is going to happen. Get rid of negative thoughts, start AFF with an open mind and just enjoy it! www.sneale-create.com

Difference from a 280 down to a 170?
VampireGirl replied to artistcalledian's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I think you've learnt one of the best lessons in skydiving. Listen to advice, consider everything everyone tells you, but always ask questions of more than just one person and ask and ask and ask ... Then when you've got a fair amount of opinions, then start making your decisions. You'll soon learn whose advice to listen to and whose not to. www.sneale-create.com -
I am not saying it's the only method to use, only making an observation that my body clock was actually right on this occasion and how great that was. Before tracking off, I looked at my Alti (my primary source of altitude awareness) and it was in tune with my body clock. I had a thought after having made the last post.... I think my visual awareness is better than I am giving it credit for, as I think the closeness of the ground may have had some factor in this awareness. Obviously "body clocks" will work differently at differnt altitudes, I always get kind of freaked out when I get 15K (i am used to 13K), as I feel like it's time to get away and it's normally about 6-5k! Then I go, oh yeah baby! More freefall!!! :-) yep, I agree, use whatever you can, but as a student, wrist/chest altimeter is king!! all the body clock, visual references, will be developed with experience (of which mine, is limited). xx www.sneale-create.com

What I do recommend, is that each and every time you initiate the pull sequence you take advantage of that moment to be aware of what the ground looks like. Log it into your memory bank. Soon you'll just know when it's "time" before you ever hear a beep or glance at your alti. ---------------------------------------------------------- You will eventually develop a "body clock" which is another thing not to rely on, but it can be pretty damn accurate, where you JUST KNOW that it's time to track away. Example: I did a two-way with an ex team mate over the weekend. Usually with fun jumps I set my protrack to 4500ft and track away then. While doing competition and training jumps, we always worked until 4000ft. On this jump I set my protract to 4k. I remember thinking, "errrrm this seems to be going on forevvvver" and glancing at my alti to see it was between 4500ft and 4000ft, at which point I didn't wait for the beeps, just tracked away. Was quite impressed with my body clock being so accurate. I don't look at the ground much I must admit, but the jump when I smashed my alti on a tube exit, made me SOOOPER aware of my beeps on my protrack and makes me want to become more visually aware. When jumping with other people, remember if you see the soles of their feet, it's time to go!! good luck with the rest of your training! www.sneale-create.com

I am still looking for one, so if you know one, let me know. Then I stumbled across this thread and thought I'd check my reaction time! so there! www.sneale-create.com

Skydive Lillo...Xmas.....whats Happening?
VampireGirl replied to Zoter's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Lillo "may" be in a "warmer" part of Spain, but it is also in the middle of nowhere. If you are going to be going somewhere for a skydiving holiday in the winter-time, you need to accept the fact that you may have bad weather and that you may or may not get to jump... Empuriabrava has facilities for this eventuality and you can go-cart to your heart's content, go and do something cultural, or even just take a stroll on the beach. There is a lively town with quite a few skydiving bars and some nice restaurants and the flights are still pretty cheap out there on our dates. www.sneale-create.com -
Yep, I've seen men getting changed in the packing shed, outside in the kit up area, with their undies on show, and some of them haven't been boxers, but the itty bitty variety! Shocked me the first time, but now I don't blink anymore. One of the perks of the sport xx www.sneale-create.com

Hell, I think it needs more alts on the higher end, too. I'm willing to bet there's a lot of people who haven't even gotten out as low as 3K. Yep, that's me! I have done a few from 3500ft (static lines) but all my hop n pops have been from at least 4K. I definately have this as something I need to work on, as per the post about being aware of your gear's capabilities in an aircraft emergency.. Quote: The reason I got out that low, and will continue to do it (if and when the opportunity presents itself again), is that getting out of a plane under 2000ft doesnt have to be a "panic situation", even if the plane is having an emergency and you must exit. I think its important to know where ones "main or reserve?" limit is for an airplane emergency, and also to have gone out real low a few times in a non emergency situation, so that if/when it happens for real, it won't be the first time you do it. Unquote.. but I just don't feel ready to push my limits on low hop n pops yet. how can I psyche myself up to get over this? I suppose knowing how long my canopy takes to open, packing it myself and being aware of what to do to make it open quicker, may be a start.. any comments? www.sneale-create.com

Sorry, but I left it on for an hour and I just couldn't bring myself to leave it up for longer than that! xx www.sneale-create.com

Yep, another Virgo here. Gotta love Virgos, we keep 'em guessing!

Yep, I can sleep anywhere, anytime, as long as I can put my head down. Apparently I talk a lot and I have sometimes been concious of it as I fall asleep, and heard myself talking.. I talk in different languages too.. I can't sleep with socks on either, no matter how cold it is, my feet MUST be naked. I am a terrible cuddle-bunny, if I'm in bed with someone, I cuddle sooo much that they normally end up on the edge of the bed. I am also a duvet-thief! Oh yeah, and apparently I snore! boldest thing you ever did to show someone you like them
VampireGirl replied to antifnsocial's topic in The Bonfire
Been there and done that. After being REALLY mad at me for a few months I think she has moved on. It really was the best thing for us both I think. ------------------------------------------------------ Yep, this is a bold thing to do and I can relate, it's also very hard, when you really like someone to end it with them, but sometimes its the best thing under the circumstances. www.sneale-create.com
