Picked up this thread a little late by the looks of things, I will be swimming and sauna' ing it too!! Yaaaaay, I won't have a white carnation, but will either be wearing high heels with a look of utter pain and uncomfortableness on my face or I will have flip flops on and will look happy!! Was trying to get my cat 10 (still don't have it) and it was the last coach jump of the holiday... first jump with a new instructor... he took one look at me and just kept on shaking his head to indicate NO THAT'S WRONG!!! I had a good landing, but needed a few minutes in the loo balling my eyes out for about 15 minutes before I could face the video and the debrief. A turning point in my skydiving carreer... I asked myself: "isn't this supposed to be fun??" From now on, I don't care how long it takes me to get the next acheivement, as long as I can still skyive and have fun, that's all that matters, the achievements are just bonuses along the way... www.sneale-create.com

- Do another canopy control course, and learn how to fly my canopy, learn its limitations and try not to have too many limitations myself. Hopefully by the end of it i'll be able to: - Land on my feet in a nil wind landing and for it not to hurt!! - Get my cat 10, after doing some tunnel time. - Learn how to fly my long skinny body fast!!! And not to have to wear weight, or if I HAVE TO wear weight, to get used to it. - Do my 100th jump NAKED!! - Do another 100 jumps and spend two months of the summer bumming around a DZ in Spain somewhere, brushing up on my Spanish and my skydiving skills. - Jump with as many different people as possible, = HAVE LOADS OF FUN!!! - Get my B liscence. - Encourage people not to give up when they are despondant, as I have had that feeling (and may go through it again next year, but I do not intend on giving up!!) I tried to get us a discount on food, but they already discount food very heavily there (but you need to buy in bulk), so look out for the specials on the menu and order food in bulk. I also asked again about us showing skydiving videos on their system, which they can do, but not tomorrow night (Christmas parties and being very busy and all that). So, if anyone has any amateur (or even professional) videos, movies, to do with skydiving, BASE jumping or anything that will interest us, bring them along to the next get together in January, I will let you know what format (DVD, VCR) they need to be in, once I have sorted it out with the Montagu Pyke. Every time I get in a jump plane, I ask myself "what am I doing?" That's what i love about this sport, you have to constantly question and evaluate a situation. By the time I have reached 3k I have made peace with myself about it. If one day I don't make peace about it, I won't jump. Managing the fear is when it starts getting really fun, 'cos the fear is what you pay for. Well done! Eloy is a great place to do your first jump. I did my AFF there and it was f****g awesome. Sex is definately the best one, you CAN do it on your own, y' know!! Then a long hot shower/bath (maybe do that first, whatever tickles your fancy). Then settle down with a mug of warm milk and honey and read. A fellow skydiver... mmm he's got the kindest eyes and the sweetest smile. I also act like a real fool around him, he's a fair amount older than me and he calls me "kid". Don't think I can get him to take me seriously? He makes my butterflies in my tummy fly around like mad things. Just to round this thread off: I jumped this weekend, it was windy and that's why I got my butt up to the DZ asap!! I managed to land on my feet on both jumps and am in one peice! I wanted to make everyone aware of what my main issue was and how I managed to solve it. I have been having the incorrect mental attitude!! People have said that i should have a mantra as I am flaring, I have tried all sorts of things to say to myself, this weekend I used: " I CAN DO IT " which i said in my head as I flared (I was scared I was flaring too high, but I came down like a feather both times). I had great skydives too on both occasions and a great weekend with great people so I am now ready for my long weekend at empuria and intend on coming back, having learnt more about my canopy. Porosity and lines do not need to be checked and all I have to do is get out there and DO IT!! XX Sarah www.sneale-create.com
