Hi there, I am embarking on buying my first custom made RW suit and as it is quite a whack of money, thought I'd ask around to see what people think. I have so far been able to find: Bev Suits in the states, Symbiosis Suits and Aircare Suits. I have found that Bev uses lots of cordura (maybe I need that as I haven't quite mastered landing on my feet yet). Symbiosis is in the UK and therefore it is more convenient. Aircare is in the Uk and is very cheap, am I getting the same quality as if I was paying more? I have more or less decided to get standard booties with zips, but if you guys have any opinions on this, I will be happy to hear it. I am going to be spending a lot of money on this and so hope you can all give some advice. Thanks a mil XX Sarah www.sneale-create.com

HELP ON CANOPY CONTROL-MY LANDINGS SUCK
VampireGirl replied to VampireGirl's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Ok, now i have had some time to read and think and talk about all of this info, I am making enquiries with my rigger about getting my porosity checked, checking my line trim and if I can fit a zp190 into my container. A good friend has offered to let me jump her spectre zp190 as a test to see if there is much of a difference and another good friend has jumped my rig and slid in (but he hadn't jumped for 4 months and it was muddy). He did say that there's nothing wrong with my canopy's flare. I appreciate all the advice, but definately don't want any more speed at the moment as that is what is scaring me at the mo'. Oh, another point, I have had lots of advice from a girl's point of view too and it is a girly thing too. (you girls out there will understand) and I am not trying to alienate anyone, but my point of reference on speed is so that I feel that I am actually coming in really fast on my 190, which is supposed to be docile and I definately DON'T WANT ANY MORE SPEED!! The other thing is POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE!! I am working on my confidence, but unfortunately can't jump at the moment as I am suffering from a recurring injury which is one of the reasons for this post. The moment I am healed, I will be back up there and trying it out again. Thanks everyone. Safe and happy landings XX Sarah www.sneale-create.com -
HELP ON CANOPY CONTROL-MY LANDINGS SUCK

HELP ON CANOPY CONTROL-MY LANDINGS SUCK
VampireGirl replied to VampireGirl's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Hi everybody. Need some advice. I have 73 jumps and about 30 jumps ago bought my own kit, (very cheap-second hand, but looked over by my very trusted rigger and deemed to be "sound"). Now, I was a static line student in the Uk until 18 jumps and so was jumping huge canopies (260 square feet mantas), which always brought me down softly no matter what I did. I then did AFF and (at last year's eloy boogie) and was jumping a 220 teleis, great canopy, lots of fun and no issues. I have now downsized to my own kit a PD190 (F111, with about 800 jumps (??) on it) and have had some very hairy landings. I have attended Chris Lynches "Wing Tips" seminar, but due to one thing or another only got two landings filmed which were disasterous!! I learnt a lot about flight patterns on the course and now seem to be able to not land off too many times, but still have trouble with landings, especially on nil wind days, so much so that I don't want to jump in nil winds at the moment. I have been told by my rigger that I can fit a ZP170 main into my container (a classic teardrop) when I want to downsize and don't want to downsize until I can land my 190, but have been told by a lot of people that the F111 fabric is the issue here. I was wondering if any of you had any opinions on this and also what canopy I should be looking for, for my next one... I have been recommended one in particular, but don't want to mention it until I have had some options as I don't want to bias your opinions. Sorry for the long post. Any advice/opinions would be greatly appreciated. PS, I am attending another canopy control course in Spain with Brian Vacher in March, and don't expect to be doing much jumping between now and then, its been an expensive year (AFF, new rig) and I can't afford to go to eloy this year... www.sneale-create.com -
That's ok, thanks for getting it sorted. About the missing mail.... well, I had a postcard sent to me seven years ago that still hasn't turned up. Makes life interesting and something to talk about. Thanks. xx Sarah www.sneale-create.com

Listen, does it always have to be someone's fault, can't we just let the barman and the other random people who were buying us drinks ALL NIGHT take the blame! www.sneale-create.com

Hey girl, you promised you'd share one with me.... that could even turn into two and voila! that's a bottle each, you can't get out of it you know. Moving with a hangover is NOT fun, I helped someone move with a hangover last weekend, I have never heard so much moaning and complaining in all my life (from myself!). You have Friday to recover though!! www.sneale-create.com

He he he, I wondered if it was normal for you to drink so much. The only way I can think of stopping you is to help you drink it. Looking forward to seeing you again Vicky. XX www.sneale-create.com

Yeah, I found it much easier to get up in the morning after reading the book. For all the people who can't understand Simon's point of view, it may be worth taking the time out to read the book too, it is told from both guy's points of view and offers an insight into what both of them were thinking. Havent seen the move yet, (I'm a book kinda person). www.sneale-create.com

Habits from skydiving that cross-over to other areas of life?
VampireGirl replied to HeatherB's topic in The Bonfire
Was running to catch a train the other day, decided on a quick change of direction, put my hands up (to flare, slow down and change direction) and aimed for the door, in skydiving stance!! The embaressing thing is I called out " Wheeeee" at the same time (how I think in freefall) all the passengers in the train looked at me like I was nuts!! www.sneale-create.com -
