  1. Nice vid Saskia....but they dont film the full deployment shot like that....thats one of the tandem 'money shots'...no? Filming of the canopy ride and landing is nice....alot to go wrong there though...but it looks great.
  2. What would you propose as a counter argument to this fellas' proposal Jeb..?
  3. great effort and stories.... Cracking read..!
  4. I had this weird notion that you being under the influence of mind altering medication might in some weird kinda way make the language in your posts easier to interpret.... < Zoter.....screws up paper with written theory and throws it out of the window......NEXT ! > Keeping on topic... I check everything myself and dont need a 'second' opinion...but will always ask for a look over if i'm not on my own....belt and braces and all that
  5. Go nuts....practising your HD...dont hold it for more than 6 secs at a time so if you are 'travelling' you have the opportunity to reset ,without getting into others airspace... Transition, fly...6 secs...back to your stable headup position...pick a different vector..repeat
  6. ....is there any evidence/experience that suggests heading performance is 'worse' for larger canopies ( 285+)compared to 'smaller' canopies, in the 4-7sec region due to the fact that pressurisation takes longer..?
  7. A common paragraph used in my logbook is ... "I pitch the PC ....and after what feels an eternity...think ...Shit....nothings happeni.....interrupted by the crack of a canopy deploying..
  8. In my very limited experience and analysis, comparing my SD deployment ( Troll MDV305) with that of one or two sizes smaller of Troll MDV's ....the only significant difference is in the time to linestretch from PC pressurisation....and even then its noticable but not something that strikes me as being a 'major' difference. S/L from 170-180ft in the same canopy size comparison...there was little/no difference in canopy flight time.

    What A Night

Congratulations ! That sounds great.....and not a midget /hooker /ninja....(yaaaaawn) in site.. Well done to both of you... THIS is the kind of post thats good reading..
  10. Likewise....so its very sad to see these people being let down. I just wish he would sort out these problems for these people ...its not too late to and redeem his great reputation. It sounds like he's going thru hard times now...
  11. Ohh yeah....forgot about that... We got you all beat.... Jarno has the evidence....he's such a naughty boy ! but we did event a completely new 'extreme' sport..
  12. I would have got out a lighter and chased you around the shopping centre with the naked flame....now THAT would be some funny pictures... Sad...very sad...
  13. Nice post...i didnt look at it fom that angle Thanks
  14. Well done to Mr Corliss for getting off .....but what are the wider consequences of this..? Is this a case of the Law saying: "..thanks for the heads up guys...we will make sure some specific anti BASE jumping law in place for the next time someone gets pinched doing this..." How easy would it be in the US to make specific legislation against BASE jumping on a non legal site ( the actual act of BASE jumping ...not the entry) ? Probably only take a major country to do it for alot of others to follow on with something similar...

    Carnage Video

I'm not sure 'watching' somebody die can be instructional....at least not in a way a written description couldnt illustrate the tragic event. I think there is value/instructional benefit in watching somebody save their own life . Some people say that watching someone die is intsructional for new BASE jumpers...to graphically show them the potential consequences.....personally I dont agree thats necessary, but do understand why people show it.
  16. Cool video... Sweet effects....loving it Winner...!
  17. You might call it something else....getting off facing the object and facing the side of the object... I'm planning to learn to do these exits of a nice 2-3sec delay span... Anyone got any constructive advice on safety/technique/practice for these exits..? Cheers
  18. I'll take a stab at looking at this situation. I think Mac is commenting on the fact that you 'needed' to comment internationally on a jump you did where one of your crew decided to walk. I'm reading into the thread as ... ..although its generally accepted that if you feel you need to walk , its always the right decision ( for you at that time)....you seemed to put that situation into a soft background focus to 'you' doing a jump in what were clearly...unsuitable conditions.....why? ....because maybe you are a little bit..'wooo'..little bit 'waaay'....not too smart...but 'rad' as fuck and craaazy ( is that enough a's for the right effect..?) Absolute congratulations on doing the jump and surviving it...it does sound like a ballsy jump....but it doesnt sound at all smart ( but you seem to feel proud about that..? ) Are you the guy that had a really bad paragliding accident...? or am I thinking of someone else..? ( if you are I would have thought you would have taken your decision making process a little more...carefully) What I WOULD have liked to have seen you posted, was a jump log, a story, describing that kind of jump....not the kinda 'Look how cool our Crew (..erm..me) is'.. kinda post Or maybe I got it all wrong and its just one of those little piss take situations we are supposed to 'take' in BASE Either way, credit for getting away with the jump without injury ...thats worthy of some respect.

    4 jumps 52 min

ahhh the divisions of language across a small stretch of water. If one , in a group of guys mentions 'bad ass' over here....the rest take 5 steps forward , upwind.
  20. DSE posted some info...go look Something about crappy image quality (chroma artifacts) pissed on my chips when thinking this looked like a great mini cam...
  21. Tom could you clarify? Do you mean grabbing the PC and pitching straight from the BOC as opposed to extracting the PC from the BOC , holding, and then releasing..??
  22. How short is really short..? I was under the impression that whilst you might be avoiding one possible mal ( knotted PC) you are increasing the risk of another....PC in tow/delayed inflation....as your PC is now alot closer to your (larger) burble Thinking about that some more...does it not also mean you could give yourself more chance of a knotted bridal..? ie your partially inflated PC 'dancing' with the bridal behind/above you
  23. Is it worth saying here that if you do adjust your overall brakelength setting....then make sure its symmetrical ? My Troll came with a knot in the end of the brakelines ( which is great for adjustment) but its also easy to 'readjust' differently on both brakelines which will no doubt need some creative handling to fly level... It was a concern with me when I started changing brake line lengths.... Measuring the distance from SBS cats eye to the knot was my best way of making sure its was the same...( after measuring the distance from canopy attachment to SBS on both lines...just to make sure they were even) Just thought i'd mention it....
  24. Douggs you make the best vids... Perfect combo of ability, balls, crazy, humility and livin' the dream... (thanks for making me waste a whole afternoon at work watching your stuff on You tube and BaseDreams....)
  25. Thats a shocking inuendo ! You should be ashamed of yourself... Mr Cordia assures me through pesronal experience that Costyn DOES have enough 'battery in his camera'....lol
