  1. Nah not always.....some arse stole my laptop a couple of years back and I know who it was!! (longer story).... I knew he had nicked it, and he knew that I knew he nicked it...but I couldnt do a damn thing to prove it !! I thought I made what was a great offer....backup the files to a DVD and give that backup to me and keep the damn thing! ( I really needed the files) No Go.... Karma....what goes around comes around.....They'll get what they are due, somehow, somewhere
  2. I had (have) similar issues. Fall quite fast naturally ( big guy with a big natural arch!) I fly pretty much any type of jump (Freefly, Flat, Camera,Tracking) in a loose fitting polycotten free fly suit and it serves me well. I would also recommend just a little time in the tunnel with a quality coach.....just a little time... You will be more relaxed and they will be able to show you several techniques to help you fly a bit slower ( without you having to concentrate on the ground coming up) I used to always be the low person...and I never thought it would change....but now I rarely go 'low'
  3. hmmm bulb light....broken I see... Path....to the dark side....taken , i have
  4. Not so much a saying .....and as a low timer I probably should just pass this post on ....but something that has always served me well in many situations. " Always...Always...listen to the little voices in your head telling you that something isnt right "
  5. I hear ya Wayne....but to get to the former ....you have to do the latter ! Get yourself out on some junior 4 way team......your slot is paid and provided they are pretty easy going and generous ( I'm blessed at the moment) you will learn your skills as they learn RW I keep a rule though...I'm prepared to cough up my slot money if I give them video thats not judgeable or have messed up technically.......kinda keeps you on your toes. Never thought I'd say I'm enjoying learning lots with an RW group...but I am...lots and lots about flying me and my cam.
  6. Shiiit Gus....literally Those pics sure 'aint' amusing Your poor canopy and lines..... She looked sooo pretty in your Swiss Vid...
  7. What happened Gus...?? Is this on your BASE canopy?
  8. Ditto....lovin' it lovin' it lovin 'it Very comfy....no 'slippage' in Freefall Practically snag free with just a sidemount camcorder and lo -pro lense Overall....I'm very satisfied with mine and was worth a few extra quid
  9. I'm aware of that.... I was pointing out that the 109 had a noticeable difference ( worse) in low light conditions in comparison with older model sony camcorders in the same lower light conditions.
  10. Send me an PM when you are online and I'll get your footage compressed and uploaded somewhere
  11. PC109 has a slightly smaller lens than the Sony's you are used to... It has 0.75 megapixel for vid and 1.something megapixels for stills Doesnt make any difference outdoors but in indoor low light conditions there is a bit of a difference ( not much....but you can see it) It also requires the use of a 'docking station' for DV transfer of footage....which can be a bit of a drag (AV LANC and MIC are on the camera) On the plus side.....its abso tiny and quite sturdy......and with the 'large battery' which is still tiny it will take you through 300mins+ with no problems
  12. The BMX-Lax .....jeez I would have needed a long sleep and an IV after that one..
  13. I have a Teardrop SF as well. I certainly could not pick up my rig with this flap. That aside....(and please correct me if I am wrong) this is a very poor 'criterion' for a FF friendly rig. If it happens frequently....yes it should be fixed....if it happens once in a while.....well Even if the main pin flap does come undone....there should be sufficient redundency in the rest of your system ( closing loop, pin tension, no exposed bridal , tight PC in BOC etc) to not worry about the one time your flap may come undone. On my TDSF I make sure that the bridal is tucked away tightly above and below the pin all the way to the BOC ( in the little flap).......ie nothing loose that could flap around if the flap came open and exposed the bridal to 'raw' airflow
  14. Thanks guys...I jumped it this weekend ( at Cark, UK) and I liked it alot......very fast run in speed ! but a nice high step as well as a huge grab rail......didnt have any problems at all.....thanks to all for your advice/pictures

    Hah

I hear ya.......to be honest I really dont enjoy 'doing' 4 way at all........but I do like filming it.......and to see the progression in the people doing it is great. I think my brief step into 4 way filming is about to come to an abrupt halt (not out of choice !) .....but I have enjoyed doing it and have learned alot about flying my body and flying my camera.......all stuff thats going to come in very useful .
