  2. Yeah....I bet you gave him a real show too... (the sound of a pair of rubber gloves being put on).....
  3. Hit Ebay and get a book....... Perfect reading for shitty weather days at the DZ ( plenty of them so far in the UK this year) ...and whilst you are sitting on the throne. Personally .....I usually 'play' with editing software to figure out how to do what I needed to do. With Premiere I struggled......I got a cheapo book and was up and running in no time. I think if you dont have alot of time on other editing programs...Premir can be a little tricky to pick up the 'play to learn' way.... The good news is...its hard to pick up because it can do just about everything......so once you have figured out how to do things, you probably wont need to learn another program....and if you do, chances are it will be part of the Adobe family ( eg After Effects, Illustrator, Encore) which has a similar layout Edited to add......nacmacs link is a good one....lots of stuff on there....be sure to look in the Tuts for ver.6,6.5 as well....can all be used in Prem.Pro
  4. Yeah !!!!....take it! Just make sure you keep your rigs under lock and key......and check them really really really carefully before you use 'em

    Slide up packjob

Probably a stoopid newbie question....... Why are you not using a Tailgate device........if your lines are set up for it?
  10. Thats fair enough.... I'd like to see videos/links to videos of the 'earliest' days of freefly/headown. Shouldnt be too hard to validate judging by the clothes worn, rigs worn.......and of course the hairstyles !! C'mon you 'ol timers.......we all know you were doin' it........post ya videos
  11. Thats pretty cool... But is it that difficult to remember a 'month' that your reserve is due? I have the worst memory of anyone I know.....but I know what month my reserve is due... Maybe my life isnt as complicated as the rest of you

    tracking

Somebody suggested to me tracking with arms by your side....palms facing UPand wrist angled so that your fingers point towards your leg.... This helps roll your shoulders and help you cup air....and make your track that little bit flatter. I tried it and it works for me... I practice it every day on may way to/back from work...!!....theres a nice little quiet stretch of ringroad around Regents Park, London thats on my work route......I speed up my scooter up to 60mph and put my left arm in the position and experiment.....feeling what position change does to the air resistance. Sad or what....

  14. You bunch of sharkfvckers you....!! I never knew for sure but always had my suspicions
  15. With a PC setup....I'd go with Premiere, you will need an XP OS Mac....obviously Final Cut Pro I scratched around using several other PC editing Programs before using Premiere.....yes it is a 'little' daunting when you first load it if you have limited or no editing experience, but what you can do with a little learning (and playing) is really only limited by your footage, imagination ......and availability to Adobe After Effects. I have not used it much for DVD Authoring.....used Encore a bit, didnt like it .....so use Sony DVD Architect and love that.
  16. So whats the 'risk' of having a tailgate on a slider up jump.....if the tail gate is high enough up the lines....would it interfere with the slider ? Secondly....can anyone tell me why the tailgate is ...what it is.....ie a pice of material with a stow, finger trapped. Why cant you simply use a rubber band stow attached around the lines....granted you would lose you stow every jump.....but whats the reason over the specific design...I couldnt get it off the website. (edited to add.....sorry about the dumb ass questions....but this is new to me and I need to learn)
  17. I thought of a similar question the other day after a packing lesson.... Whats the risk in jumping a slider up config with a tailgate?........

    My First BASE Rig

Why would a multi bridal attachment induce off heading openings? If the canopy is brought out of the container more 'evenly' as with a multi....I would have thought it would have opened more reliably on heading.. Is it something to do with the cells on the left and right of the centre cell being brought into the airflow more evenly ....ie at about the sametime as the centre cell.....causing the possibility of unequal air inflow on the left and right side of the canopy?
  19. If someone were 'smart' perhaps they could create a 'worldwide' boogie register for 2005......and post it up here somewhere.... I hate hearing about a good thing too late to get involved or afterwards....
  20. hmmm....me neither....I'm a big Adobe fan but didnt think this one is much cop. Can I suggest/recommend Sony DVD Architect....? its a very powerful DVD authoring tool......and an absolute doddle to use compared to Encore ( I have used both )...its so easy to use it might help reduce your 'working time' if you are going to use a NLE system.

  22. No.1 .....ask your Coach ! he will tell you what you need to hear. I'll quote from my own very limited experience....but I think its valid. Its a good idea to have a reference.....bad idea to have that reference in the same place on every jump ( ie sun in front of you on every jump ) Its important when beginning to make sure you turn off the 'run in ' line of the aircraft 90degrees before you start doing any 'new' stuff. This is because its very likely when beginning freeflying for you to slide forwards or more likely backwards across the sky......if you do that well enough along the 'run in' line of the aircraft you risk running into the airspace of the previous group or the group exiting after you.......obviously not good ! On a sunny day with no clouds the sun is a good reference.....take a look out of the plane on the run in....Where is the sun in relation to the aircaft??.....work out where the sun will be when you turn 90degrees off the run in .....and use that as your reference example....if the sun is 'infront' of the aircraft....when you have exited and turned 90deg off the run in line.....the sun should now be either on your left or on your right!.....not in front or behind you. Also consider using a ground reference ( train tracks....a lake...a distinct land feature) in the same way.......but you must check that reference compared to the run in of the aircraft...before you exit ( to be sure you have turned 90degrees off the aircraft run in line) Hope that helps........but please speak to more experienced FFlyers or your Coach.....they will be able to explain it much better I am sure.
