In IT iwas a general PC LAN/WAN support guy and then got moved over into product support with the development staff. I can understand the "going nuts part". Originally, for 25 or 30 years I was a musician/teacher and decided to "sell out" and get a real job mostly for the money. Sometimes I think it was a mistake. I miss the kids teaching and I miss the atmosphere at playing gigs. Somtimes I think sdealing with a drunk at a bar is easier than dealing with an executive that knows a little about computers. Follow your heart. Being an extremely green newbie in the sport I can't relate to the jump side of things but when I was serving I LOVED doing treetop or NOE flying (riding)in a plane or a helicopter. I was there just a few weeks ago. I was going through the posts on mals all week and evidently fixated on them. I wake up the morning that I was going to jump fairly PETRIFIED that I was going to bounce. I told myself that I would just go tot he DZ and if I didn't want to jump, I wouldn't. Got to the DZ, felt the vibes. Had a great jump. One thing I really like about the skydivers that I have encountered is that if for some reason you personally feel like you can't jump, nobody gives you serious crap about it. I ( a newbie )was having problems with my leg extension during freefall. I started working on the leg extension machine to strengthen the muscles. I would pause the machine during the extension to get the feel of the lower leg angle. I have done 2 jumps since then and have only gotten the "legs out" signal once. Could be coincidence. I also use on of those big inflatable balls to do what used to be called "good mornings" You go balance your pelvis on the ball and bend fwd. Then arch back as far as comfortable, pause, return to the starting position then repeat. Be careful not to over do this one. Strenghens the lower back and if you place your feet right on the floor you can kind of simulate an arch. You can lace your fingers behind your head or put them out like you were doing the Box. By brother ( the bigger guy in the family)and I were on our second tandem the JM started loosening the hooks under canopy and said that he wouldn't let me fall much. I told him that that was ok. If I bounced my brother would be on the ground waiting for him. He said "Oh" and was very quiet and focused the rest of the way down.
