Thanks, I would tell you what we're getting him for Christmas, but he lurks in the forums. ( Sorry Tom) When I get my A I plan on coming over and seeing you folks at Raeford. My boss jumped over there for a while and says it's great. My brother and I finished our AFF yesterday. It was cloudy and a little chilly but still a great day. Attaching pics that my wife-o took. One of my landing and the other of the Riffe brothers before we went up ( I am the one on the left) and one of me getting back to the hangar. Good point. You probably did not. Nor did you ask those that served in the Revolution, The Civil war , WWI, WWII, The Cold War, Korea, Vietnam, Granada, Desert Storm, ( I know I left a few out) or any of the many covert operations the public knows nothing about. Clauswitz was quoted as saying "War is nothing but a continuation of politics with the admixture of other means" Unfortunately in todays climate this carries the baggage that the politicians and the "politically correct" force on our soldiers. I have a feeling that if I had the fortune to served under the Lt. Col I would have gladly followed him anywhere. I can not say that about many of the politicians that hamstring the military. If the Colonel had not discovered the ambush the he would have probably been roasted for not interrogating the prisoner more vigorously. Catch 22 sucks. I am a newbie so take this with the appropriate grain of salt: On my last 2 landings I kept going off course to the right a few degrees. After talking with my landing coach he pointed out that while my arms sere not moving, when I looked around under canopy my shoulders were following my head. On my level 5 I had a great jump. As I threw the pilot I felt my right shoulder drop and starting turning to the right and thought " Oh yea this is going to be a line twist" and sure enough it was. I looked up, I kicked out and it was OK.
