Okay the morning starts off with rounding up the dogs from the back yard, they had been out running after their breakfast and it was time to come in. I call and like good dogs here they come. However Kaci decides it would be awesome to jump on me this morning and of course she had been playing in the dirt box.. great now I am muddy! I get the dogs in and get cleaned up, I decide to run some errand's and my car decides to die on me, it will not even pull it's self up the small hill in front of my house, sounds like I have a lack of compression! Okay so I jump in the truck, it needs cleaned up anyway. I take the truck, run errand's and stop by the car wash to vacuum it out. 75 cents into the vac and nothing!!!! so I move to the other vacuum and surprise to me it actually works.. maybe my morning is getting better? I get home after all of that and jump on the riding mower so i can get the yard trimmed up. Mowing was going great until the mower got stuck on some dew covered grass. I thought the yard was dry, but that section in the shade was still wet and there the mower set! I finally got the mower out and finished the back yard and called it done for the day. Here I sit and I am not doing anything else until I get to work at 4pm today. hopefully work will be good and non eventful. Its just one of those days. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com

used to work for Powrachute brand as a rigger, fell out many many times with the good blessing from the feds... not legal otherwise unless you have an N# and a commerical rated pilot. There are multiple snag hazards and a lost PC with an engine at your back can go to shit quick if you are not carefull.. if you need other info PM me and I will fill you in on what I know thru the jumps we did at Powrachute. And jen you have it right there. "as normal as possible". A skydive is not in anyway a normal aspect of everyday life. I value your input and it's wonderfull that you can remain active and feel free enough to engage in sports. As a TM i would never take anyone with a pacemaker. i don't want the added risk. As a medic that has ran my share of calls we colect storys of our work and one of those is an older lady that had a pacemaker and yes it was strong, but flesh is not near as strong. while riding a horse the pacemaker and clavical had problems whe the horse threw her to the dirt. She may be riding a horse in the afterlife as she moved on to that point shortly after impact when thrown. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com

From my experience in the tandem worl and that of the medical world i would have to say don't jump with the pacemaker/defib. Skydiving is a great thing but it's not everything. I have had plenty of hard openings on tandems and they have left me short of breath and in pain, My passenger had bruised from the opening shock as well. I have also had my fair share of landings that did not go so well and would looked like a planned crash. Mailin i think that you have given some good input here, but you are not a TI nor are you in the medical filed (profile info). Checking with a doctor is a wise thing but keep in mind that unless you are asking a DR that understands skydiving then you might not be getting the right answers. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com

I can see wild dogs stalking down carrots and rice right now! where is the guy from the far side cartoons when you need him? I have many vegan friends that have become breeders and make thier children eat vegan as well, I am not sure how I feel about that other then I don't think it is a good idea or should I say is not a choice that i would make. the arguemnet could go either way and reach no end other then to agree to disagree I guess. I like for my dog to get the food that it should have as if where in the wild, after all she is an animal and would prefer to live in a den with her pack then the bed we offer her in our home. she plays with dogs and is a dog it's that simple, left to her devices she would hunt and eat meat, not rice or veggies. having said that I am also glad that we have science and can see that she needs some extra supplements and are able to get those to her thru corn based foods.
