  1. someday when we get out of the city and into a farm house I will build a large wall in the barn. Steve do you have pictuers or suggestions for setting routes? and this spring a group of jumpers/climbers are going to be going to sams throne Arkansas for a weekend of climbing, you should come over! 2. With winter fast approaching I have begun work on a "rock" climbing wall in my garage. I have very little space to work with, but it will be something to do when I am bored and stuck in the house. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  3. I just got the mid west freefly legend (jimmy coiner) and Hippies rig's repacked. those two lads will be ready for boogie time now. have fun and play safe. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  4. Billo I am just about to finish a repack on the legends rig so he can get back to back loads in. I once again have to work a 24hr shift on saturday, so I will not be able to attend this boogie. have fun and play safe. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  5. I lost my home to a fire years ago and it was not fun at all.. when stuff starts to explode it gets your attention. When the fire dept found out about the gun rome and all the reloading equipment they got a bit more excitied. When the fire got to that room and the kegs of gun powder started going and all the ammo was poping like fire works the firemen just kind of set back and watched a fire go a bit. Have an escape plan thats for sure. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  6. Jack When Christina told me of what happend with your son it really upset me and I want you to know that we are both so sorry for your loss. I think that you are doing the right thing by not pressing the issue if this was just an accident. You are a good man and we are sorry for your loss. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  7. I don't know exactally how to get there, I went one time and have not been able to get back. I think the directions are on the web site for the dz. rainbow is North of KCI, North of Platte city actually, but not much further then that. It's a a neat little airport and everyone there is excitied to see skydivers at the airport. Unlinke that harrisonville area thats for sure. maybe someday when I don't work 24hrs every saturday i can make a skydive at this place again. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  8. the dz has moved to north KC and is flying out of rainbow airport. www.greenboxphotography.com
  9. well you get to leave in 8 hrs, as always i am stuck here for 24 hrs. I have alot of home work to do today, hopefully we will not get any 911 calls and I can get the home work done. Working 24 is not a bad thing when school work needs to be done. Have fun at the dz when you get there. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com

I am sad to hear about your loss. I just got home from a 24 hr shift and my girlfriend has placed our girls in day care today and they are not home to meet me.. After reading about your loss I wish they where home so I could go hug them. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com

  12. That was some crazy and messed up stuff.. I about barfed at the horse milking skit.. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  13. Andrew I have made plenty of base jumps here int his flat state and for the life of me can't see what the problem is. You have to make efforts and understand that things just don't happen because you want them to. Buy gear and beer. ask to ground crew a few times and learn as much as possible. people like Donk, JJ and Zoom all helped me along the way, but I did not expect them to and it was on thier time and I never asked fro anything more then that. If things are not moving fast enough for you then perhaps you should look into a first base course and go from there. good luck. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  14. We are animals and this would not be a far stretch at all. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  15. I carry a bls bag to the dz, I also rock climb and hunt. I find myself in very remote locations and sometimes cell phones just don't work. I usually try to travel in a group, so at least one person can go for help, at that point in time I would not hesitate to provide bls care. I have helped on the dz a few times and I would encourage all dz's to have at least one full time staff person or very regular jumper at least take a first responder course if not the emt-b class. having a spine board, collar and airway on hand can help tremendously. I understand the liabilities of it all as well and know that each time that I may be doing something i am at risk, either at the dz or while at work. but I have choose this path and I will follow it no matter. if my friend is down then i will do what I can, I just care more about friends then I do my job. 16. I also have heard that the legend will not be able to attend. Will you be moving the boogie tyo another weekend for his sake? Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  17. I hope that the force of jimmy does not strike me down... Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  18. great another Jimmy connier thread has begun! www.greenboxphotography.com
  19. My friend Leon has a son he and everyone else calls "stink bait". Colby is his real name, but he actually prefers stink bait. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  20. So what you are saying is that you could have easily beat the mid west freefly legend? Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  21. I am hearing rumors that Jimmy "the mid west freefly legend" Conier won the polyester best dressed contest.. as if that was any suprise at all.. after all he is a living legend; around here anyway! Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  22. Magellan, People might look at your two base jumps and say that was stupid because it was from a low object. Jumping at 2,000 can be done safely, there was a chain of events here that made the problem. One small part of it was the lack of altitude awareness, not a lack of altitude! I have many jumps from 2,000 feet and maybe a bit lower that I did safely and would feel very comfortable doing again. This event is a great learning tool for us all. You can ask yourself about your comfort levels, trust in your abilties and gear. i ask myself, what if's all the time and to those who say 2,000ft is to low, thats fine.. ask yourself if something happens to the plane at 2,000ft would you get out or stay in the plane? I know that i would not only get out if the pilot suggested so, but I would also feel very comfortable in doing so. Just food for thought and a chance to learn from others mistakes. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  23. bump one more time.. skybytch are you going to fill us in with more detail? Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  24. Read the incident reports, looks like pilot is already getting a shaft.. people need to take credit for what they choose to do, good or bad! But today it seems to be always some else's fault. Couch freaks home of the 24 free beer truck and sometimes poor decisions! Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
  25. a hard side box that has wheels and many small compartments. the top tool box comes off and the lower section is just one large box, i keep my manuales there and a set of lead weights. the whole thing makes a great packing weight at boogies. Drawback is that this thing is big and takes up alot of room to haul to the dz or boogie. But it has a place for a lock it and makes a nice chair to sit upon as well. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com
