    I never thought i'd ever feel comfortable packing my own canopy, and it wasn't until i got up in the air on my first pack job that i realized how great it is to know when you pack it, it will open.

    I cannot WAIT until my first naked jump. I'm with CrazyIvan for waiting til 100 jumps (in other words definitely before september 30th). I'll have to do it at a different drop zone though, since i'm hearing rumors about being pied????? or something..... I figured i'd be able to get out of it that way.....     I'm relatively new to skydiving, and I have noticed that there is a lot of opinions on dolphin containers and using them for free-flying. Are the newer dolphin containers more free-fly friendly, or have you guys who have used them, or know people who have used them, still have a lot of problems with them?     When i went through the student program, i did the Tandem progression. If i had to do it all over again, i would do it the same way.     I've been caving for a long time, last year in June, i was on a cave trip in New York State with some people, when another caver just happened to mention that he started skydiving. I told him how awesome that was, and how i have always wanted to do it, and how it was on my list of things to do before I die.

    My 43rd jump was yesterday. I've been practicing my sit now for a few jumps. I've started to be able to hold it for a few seconds. My favorite exit is a forward roll into a sit, then trying to hold it. I GOT IT YESTERDAY at a new DZ (thanks sky's the limit). I even was practicing 360 turns while in a sit. I'm still having trouble transitioning from sit to stand, and vise versa. Any hints/tips would be loved! What a great jump

    That's AWESOME!! I'm still trying to convince my mom that she should do at least a tandem to see why I keep wanting to go up in a plane and jump at every chance I get. I've got her to a "well maybe...."! That rocks that your mom is going up in the sky.     No that's WHAT happened. She said that her Reserve flew just like her old sabre canopy, and she decided that chasing her gear to catch it while falling was important. Am i the only one that thinks this is nuts?     Maybe i should clarifly a little more on what I'm more concerned about. I was talking to one of my friends from another DZ, who just had her first cutaway. She decided that she was going to use her risers to attempt to catch her gear in the air. She decided that it would have been cool to have everything when she landed. I just want to find information to inform her that this was probably not the smartest idea in the world. Of course i'm pretty new to skydiving, so I could be wrong.     Hey everyone, Granted I haven't had a cutaway yet, but I was just curious if there's any good websites, or articles on what to do, and what NOT to do while on the reserve canopy. I know it sounds simple, but after talking to some people on what they have done during cutaways, i was just wondering if there's any good information out there.     For continuing your student status, i recommend Skydive the Ranch in Gardiner, NY. I live in Jersey, and that's my home DZ. The people are safety orientated, friendly, and you really do learn a lot there also. It's probably a few hours from LI, but I know of a bunch of people from that particular area that come to the Ranch to jump.     Thanks for the advice guys, I appreciate it. I got my license July 20th with 20 jumps, granted i still need a lot of practice on my belly, but freeflying is so much more fun (and yes i do tend to backslide a little bit). Sorry no beer is left, although I'm tempted one of these days to just buy a keg... I think it'd be easier (i owe lots of beer, maybe next weekend sometime.... who knows).     Hi All, 39 Jumps here, and Monday (even with the rainy weather on the east coast, still managed to get up in the air) made most of my first attempts at freeflying. It was AWESOME!!! Granted i was jumping with someone that knew what they were doing, but still. All exits were leg locks, the first jump i managed to stand up, the 2nd jump was a sit, and the 3rd were attempts to switch from stand to sit, and vise versa. Granted the 3rd jump wasn't too successful. I think I just wasn't vertical enough though.     Hello All, Over a year ago, i started my student training for my A license, due to unforeseen incidents I had to stop with 11 jumps. I started back in June, and July 20th, I finally received my A license. It's great to have it, and i'm taking full advantage of jumping whenever i can. I have 36 jumps, have learned how to do some freeflying moves, and better belly position. Unfortunatly, my landings are awful. Although my accuracy and percision is right on, I only have one standup landing (which i'm trying to work on). Figured i'd just say hi, and welcome myself :)
