i was going to buy, but the guys i jumped with were psyched that one of them went out and got some instead

7:0 (at work today, what a drag).... However did 7 awesome jumps saturday, with jump 7 being an improptu FIRST (i'm proud of this one) naked jump. Did 7 great jumps (is there any other jump) yesterday, and we were planning a 4 way freefly as the last jump of the day. We got on sunset load, and someone who i was jumping with made a comment about naked jumps. For some reason i jumped at the opportunity to take my clothes off, and do a naked jump. Very random, but it ROCKED! Anyone out there that hasn't done one, should

Hey guys, I just bought my own canopy (i've been borrowing a friend's up to this point). It's a Sabre 190, same as the one I was packing, the only difference is that there are only 90 jumps on this canopy, and it's incredibly slippery. I've been having tons of trouble getting it into the bag, and making it still look like I have the s folds in it. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, bubbles

When i did my level 5 jump I had a similiar situation. Great dive, and for some reason i forgot to flare. At the last minute, i let go of the toggles, and proceded to do a karate breakfall (thank goodness i knew how to do that), and managed to get up and walk away. Of course landings for me have always been a problem, luckily i was still able to jump after that jump. Granted it was the last time i forgot to flare. Just to let you know. I have 64 jumps (i know it's nothing in the skydiving world), but i'm just starting to learn how to land, and this is all recent. It comes with time and practice.

I can't believe i have to miss it!! Not fair...I read the post on the ranch forum, no fair!! One of 2 saturdays i offer to switch (mostly for the night jumping at the ranch on monday), but don't worry... The end of the month, i am definitely doing a naked jump for my birthday

Well, I took the advice that Unstable gave (thanks a bunch). I contained Mike at Altico, and he told me that they had mods they could do to it. Originally I was thinking on waiting until I got my C license (those requirements are coming up), but I feel safety is more important. Full length risers, 100% briddle protection, tuck tabs.... Sounds good to me, so today, i lost my rig to the mail, to get mods made. I hope that everything goes smoothly (i know it will, but i miss it already ). I'll let you guys know how it is, when i get it back. Thanks for all the advice. a newbee really appreciates it

WELCOME to skydiving. :) I'm definitely newer at skydiving (64 jumps), got my A license in july with 20. I would like to give you some advice from a novice to a novice. Like you, i started to hear about freeflying, and was immediatly drawn to it, reading all i could, asking questions from people with more experience, etc... I learned how a sit should be preformed, and started to practice it. I toyed around with a headsdown, and also the stand. This was before i had my own gear, and i was still flying student gear (probably jump 18 or so). I'm very drawn to freeflying, still practicing my sit so i'm not backsliding, etc... Someone with a lot of experience, lots of coaching, gave me a word to the wise. Freeflying is being able to fly in ALL dimensions, not just sit/stand, headdown, therefore belly flying is important. I come to realize that this is true (at least i think it is), and wish i had more belly experience at my level. I work on going back to belly stuff, every once in a while, but I would definitely wait a little bit before really experimenting with freeflying. Learn the basic belly stuff, do some coaching perhaps, do some 4 ways, etc... I also have the retractable pin with my pilot chute. I love it also. I think it's a positive that you have to have the pilot chute cocked in order to have the pin visable. However, last weekend my kill line broke, from the pin to the pilot chute. I gave it to my rigger who thought he'd be able to have it fixed within 1/2 hour, but because of the fact that I wanted to keep the retractable pin it took 3 1/2 hours. It made me only do 8 jumps that day. My rigger did say that next time it wouldn't be as long since he knows what he's doing now. That's a plus

40 Jumps in ONE day!!!!!! Insanity. I thought 11 was bad enough (that was when i first got my A license). That's awesome!!!! Congrats on your accomplishment, good luck on the D test. Anyone that does 40 jumps, no reserve rides, deserves their D.
