Well if this were in the US, it could be argued as a separation of church and state issue. Islam is sorta the "new kid" religion in many areas of the world and are arguing for the same sort of concessions many areas have already gave Judeo Christian religions, which is understandable. I say rather than give yet another group special privileges we just revoke for all and treat all the same. It's sorta like the gay marriage debate. I'm fine with not allowing them to "marry" as long as there is some sort of new equivalent civil union or something for all. When you have a group or groups getting special privileges and another group comes along demanding the same treatment, there are two courses of action: 1. Give that group the same. 2. Remove special treatment for all. I just prefer the latter as the more groups one tries to appease, the more complicated it gets. Kids in public school all need to be treated consistently, however this does not mean altering programs for all for one groups activities they do for their imaginary friend. Let the kids/parents choose if they want to participate in swimming. If they don't want to do sex-ed, that's fine as their is probably an opt out for that too. Changing exam schedules? If he takes 95, Skydive Carolina is quite a bit off it, as is The Farm, those are best for the 95,85,75, route to or from ZHills. He could also hit Sebastian on the way to or fro. :) Cross Keys in NJ, isn't too far off 95/New Jersey Turnpike. St. Mary's GA is a nice little place with a pretty view.

In theory. But in practical reality, that fails to account for a key variable, and it's the 900 lb gorilla in the room: human nature. Libertarianism won't have true power until it starts getting plenty of Libertarian politicians elected to office. Those Libertarian politicians will be no less human than anyone else. They WANT to get elected, and they will WANT to exert power and influence while in office, they will WANT to get re-elected, and all of that requires HUGE amounts of money. That will subject them to corruption and the influence of money in government; and with all due respect, anyone who thinks Libertarians will be less susceptible to that than others is being a bit naive. Unless once the Libertarians get in and start continuously exposing the corruption and work to plug the loopholes that allow it to occur. That would cause the amounts of $$$ it takes to get elected/reelected to drop sharply. Once the federal stimulus money starts drying up, we may start seeing corporations and other special interest groups backing Libertarian candidates. As long as the philosophy of the corporation/group is limited gov't intervention, it will simple be a synergy and not a conflict of interest like so many today. Why do I get the feeling that some of the actions in these "riots" are less about protest and more about free shit? Probably because of your personal preconceived notions. I'd think if a group was upset about police being overly aggressive with them as they thought they could be violent, the last thing they'd want to do is show they might be right. Spending isn't an issue, spending more than you make is an issue. The problem isn't every politicians pet project. The problem is that they get implemented without any regard and provision for what it is going to cost. Because there is no correlation or accountability and it's not viewed as "their" money. Unless spending is cut first, all this will do is be used to justify more gov't spending and may end up costing even more. Ex: $X billion in extra revenue from these tax increases going towards $X + Y billion in new and expanded programs. The attitude and philosophy really need to change before it can be effective.
