He'd have to record himself running red lights, the video go viral, and the police asked to comment. The FAA was blndsided by this so they had to do something. While the TI royally fucked up, whomever allowed that video to go home with the customer fucked up too. She should have been told there were camera issues and either offered a free jump or her money for the video and/or the jump back. This is not correct information. As long as you are opposed to the socialistic programs based on religious principles you can opt out. Here is the ministerial exception for Social Security: http://www.crown.org/Library/ViewArticle.aspx?ArticleId=690 Here is the relevant statment that you have to affirm: I certify that I am conscientiously opposed to, or because of my religious principles I am opposed to, the acceptance (for services I perform as a minister, member of religious order not under a vow of poverty, or a Christian Science practitioner) of any public insurance that makes payments in the event of death, disability, old age, or retirement; or that, makes payments toward the cost of, or provides services for, medical care. (Public insurance includes insurance systems established by the Social Security Act.)…Under penalties of perjury, I declare that I have examined this application and to the best of my knowledge and belief it is true and correct. Hmm. I'm a Dudist priest, and I'm conscientiously opposed to the Social Security Ponzi scam and i'm sure I could find insurance for less than what I pay into it and Medicare... Can you only exempt your religious income? (Edited to add) Just read the article, religious services only. Maybe if I worked for a religious institution? There's the problem. We shouldn't be subsidizing any of it. Not oil, not electric, solar, wind, etc. The government should not be using our money to subsidize for profit companies. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

They'll just ask for more like most of the airlines have done multiple times. GM builds some good stuff, but their new vehicle price points seem too high. Is it because their costs are high or are they just overinflating so people think they are getting a better sale price? I love my '05 SSR, but wouldn't have paid what they wanted for it new. If people want to get high, they're going to get high. Making one substance illegal just causes people to look for substitutes, some of which are far more dangerous. Once that substance is made illegal, they just find somethings else. Perhaps even more dangerous. It's a slippery slope shell game. It is a business, and it's big business. They have raw materials, manufacturing, distribution networks, and dealers. The fact that it's illegal just means it has no regulation and they pay no taxes. As for protecting their crops, what business wouldn't defend its raw materials/supply chain? Unless gas prices rise due to a gradual decrease in subsdies and consumers start demanding higher fuel economy. If they still insist on thinking only of short term profits, they'll fail. That is, unless the government bails them out again. Here's free money, now do this, now you're bankrupt, here's free money. to keep you going Simply assinine. which will work as well as the ADA food pyramid encouraging people to eat more broccoli. People generally don't care too much about fuel economy. For the sort of driving I do, my generic 25mpg subaru uses only 300 gallons a year. So $2 more / gal only costs me $600. That's frankly not enough incentive for me to compromise. But it is, in my opinion, a case of national security that we substantially reduce our oil consumption and export from elsewhere. Even if we believe we have substantially greater reserves via shale oil. The Europeans seem to get by with much better efficiency and yet still maintain some semblance of pollution standards. Ah yes. Food. Another thing the government heavily subsidizes. Wouldn't it be far easier if the government simply stopped subsidizing an item with one hand and then mandating requirements for that same item with the other? Well, setting a target some 15 or so years out allows the automakers to do just that if they choose. That's how CAFE legislation has generally worked, as well as with California's EV mandates. Then what seems to happen is the manufacturers spend 10 years with their thumb up their ass trying to get it squashed, and only start to try in year 12 or so. Dropping it down to 5 year mandates could help this a little bit. Or find better ways to encourage advancements other than government mandates, Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

St. Marys votes to kick off The Jumping place.
Bolas replied to stratostar's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
If one knew the city wanted to close the current airport and there was either no new airport being built or the new airport design made the new airport unable to support skydivers, they might feel they had little to (personally) lose if they kept jumping while searching for a new location. It's selfish but it's also self preservation. They did piss off the city, but were honest with the Navy. It sounds as if TJP owns land adjacent to the airport so when the airport is closed and sold, they can sell their property too. That's a hedged bet. -
The issue at hand is morality is often subjective. Additionally should we as a society try to legislate morality between consenting adults? Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

No. Humanity is helping when you don't have to. The party being helped is grateful. When the government forces one to to help, the party forced to help is often resentful and the party receiving the help often feels they are just entitled to it. Two words: Ross Perot. Even if he were to pull some of the Democratic vote, he's still splitting the Repub vote. While an election is won or lost with the independents/undecided, it can't be won without those that vote the party line. Uh . . . No he doesn't. In fact, some of his stuff is outright screwball. For instance, he's ok with letting people die if they don't have insurance. He also wants to do away with the Post office, even though it's part of the Constitution. He sounds good for a few things, but in total he's as nutty as they come. Also, since he's not the candidate...you know...he's kinda irrelevant. Personal responsibility and accountability for oneself is screwball? The government not providing health insurance is not "letting someone die" it's just simply removing the government as a health insurance provider. The only thing it would mean is health industry companies along with charities would take care of people versus dumping them on the government. As for the Post Office the constitution can be amended.
