you are missing the point, it is not that you paid 100% but that you contributed to it. maybe the actual cost you contribute when young is very small, but you did contribute, and as you get older your contribution gets larger until you are taking care of yourself and then are helping someone else to do the same. I see to many kids nowdays that haven't learned anything about taking care of their responsibilities until they are out of college. their contribution to their own welfare was zero until that point now they are overwelmed buy having to do it all at once. they have no work ethic, ability, or desire to work for their own prosperity. We have less and less people to pay for more and more people because of attitudes like yours. Not saying your attitude is not nobel, but it does breed lazyness and entitlement attitudes from the children and harms them and us in the future. Exactly. I don't think he's trying to say that every dime spent has to be paid back in full, but more to teach these kids that in order to get something beyond what the others are getting (free lunch, etc.) you have to give something else. A child is not going to understand nor needs to understand the costs associated vs. the limited tasks back they provide, but they will hopefully learn the concept of providing for ones self. I haven't seen anything about Christianity in this story. This is an issue of a person being out of touch to the "let them eat cake" extent. But I understand the argument. Some modern Christians are like Christ as much as Stalinist Communism was about helping the community. It just has nothing to do with this guy and this guy and this attitude has nothing to do with true Christianity. But if people think that it's only the right that's out of touch then they need to pay more attention to what's going on in their own camp. If people continue to insist on making things way more complicated than they have to be, there aren't going to be easy answers. Agreed. This is definitely reason #1 why I don't want kids. It's interesting as I'd hafta "officially" say I'm undecided but knowing what an important and life changing issue it is, I feel if I'm not 100% certain, I shouldn't. My family name will end with me, but it's a pretty common name anyways.

Often times when building a system, if you have errors, it's faster to just start over as things you tried to fix one error may break something else particularly if you were messing with system and config files or the registry. My recommendations: Reformat and install XP Install SP3 before you install the network drivers if possible. Do all the Windows Updates. Install any other drivers that may be needed. Modern society and communications would never tolerate the casualties we took in WWI and II, hell, even D-Day. Battles plans that required sustaining such heavy losses to "turn the tide" would never even be approved. Pictures of captured, injured, tortured, and killed people (soldiers, civilians, children) is very powerful and with the Internet, easy to distribute worldwide and can quickly turn the public support of a war. Today we have far superior numbers to the people we are fighting and if willing to sustain x human losses could route them quite easily. People can handle defense budget increases to cover heavy robot losses to quickly end a battle. Probably by being more aggressive and quickly winning it, the number of losses is less than being more cautious and drawing the conflict out. I hope you are right, but with human beings' track record, I would guess it would mean more innocents will get killed with less accountability from those that wish to inflict harm. Are you imagining a battle field where there are only robots fighting each other and we all watch, from the comfort of our own home in anticipation of what happens? Yes. As most of these robots are built from off the shelf technology, if they are effective they will be quickly adopted by all fighting forces. In the short term, there will be robot vs. human battles but that will quickly change to robot on robot. More attacks will be targetted at control centers. As less people are needed, particularly as the robots become more and more autonomous, terrorism and rebel fighting will change as well. An extremely rich person could have their own formidable army with only a small proportion of actual people. But as it will be robots fighting robots battles will be won or lost based not on casualties, but to be able to repair or purchase replacements. Economic warfare is the warfare of the future. Once both sides of a conflict have robots that attack war is simply economic, not tragic. These same machines designed to destroy could actually lead to the end of conventional warfare.
