I think alot of the "hate" is just that those that are the loudest getting the attention. As they've polarized things in their and their follower's minds, it's easy to agree or disagree with them, especially for the media which in turn gets it's ratings from the supporters or the disagreeers. The more of a fringe or angrier they are, the better for profits. Much easier to get a quote or a sound byte that they can add music and a graphic too. Most issues at the surface aren't just black and white and while hopefully cooler heads prevail, that just isn't all that exciting to write about or watch.

The point is she never was a citizen. The fact that she was given the rights of a citizen was a mistake. While it may have been a mistake to begin with, what she has done while she and everyone else thought she was a citizen hopefully will be taken into account. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

Your opinion is grand, but every court in the land would disagree with it. Of course courts would disagree, they are more focused on process than just about anyone. The biggest issue is government processes are usually completely convoluted and illogical. It all comes down to letter of the law versus intent of that law.

People get way too hung up on process vs. results. Just because some piece of birth paperwork was found to be wrong after trying to renew her passport doesn't make her any less of a citizen IMO. Sorta like when someone is found out to have escaped from jail 30+ years later after living a normal life. They may not have served their full time, but have shown they are rehabilitated. Long after the fact cases such as these should take into the fact what the person has done, not what was just discovered. In order to make something all could eat, all those factors have to be taken into account. Particularly if this was to be a food stamp replacement to prevent exceptions and loopholes.

Asking for reliable or hard working applicants is pointless as it's basically impossible for the person hiring to prove/disprove and will likely not stop anyone from applying anyways. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

Really? In my 25 years of legal practice, most of the class action suits of which I have been aware have a specific amount of legal fees set by the court; and no matter what, the lawyers get not a penny more. But I imagine your source material is superior to mine. So to whom does any excess go? Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

Most class action suits have written into them that any excess not distributed to the plaintiffs is split among the legal team. So if you don't take it, the lawyers get it. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

Will do. I'm not being witty now. What's the money situation on the island? Do the majority of places take credit cards or do we need to bring cash/travelers checks? Are there ATM's and banks should we need additional? Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

Bananas don't keep long. I'm looking at something manufactured with a Twinkie like shelf life. MRE's are actually on the right track but don't meet the restrictions. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

No thanks, I'll just starve. Or work hard enough that you you can afford to buy and eat whatever you want. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

I was waiting for that. But I did say vegan which means no human meat either. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

Would it be possible to make one food source that all the world could eat that would give them 100% of their daily vitamins and minerals needed? Kind of a People Chow, possibly in bar form. To start, I know it would have to be: Vegan Nut Free Gluten Free Sugar Free Caffiene Free The thinking behind this is: * Simplify nutrition * Provide a low cost way people can choose to stay healthy * Replace money for food programs with just providing food What other restrictions would this food have to comply with as far as religious/allergic requirements? Me thinks you do not understand "irony" or "hypocritical". Eating soy that tastes like bacon would only be ironic and hypocritical to a vegetarian if actual bacon were used to flavor the soy. FWIW, the options I offered are not something we inlcude in our diet very often. We eat locally-farmed eggs and every now and then Bill likes to make a "sausage, egg & cheese" breakfast sandwich to satisfy a craving. We both grew up in very meat-loving, meat-topped meat, meat inside of meat, meat for breakfast, lunch & dinner families. Cravings happen--not so much for me anymore. Why I find it ironic/hypocritical is that vegans/veggies claim they don't need meat but then eat fake meat to satisfy cravings. If they don't need it, why crave it or give into it? Fake meat also validates the importance of real meat too. Some vegans/veggies also think because they don't eat certain foods that makes them better than others. They may even post about it in a bacon thread. Denis Leary said it best: Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

Bullshit. It's not impossible. It may be hard. It may be expensive. But long term, knowing this may be the best for you. Myself and others here have had LDR's with people 3000 miles a way or more so are aware of the logistics involved. Don't just go to where she is to see her. Find a DZ or other attraction nearby and make it a sidetrip and tell her it is just that as well.

The irony of veggies and vegans eating fake meat... It would only be ironic for people who were raised vegetarian and remained so their whole lives. For adults who were raised on meat, and ate it most of their lives before making the change, their palates (and to some degree, their bodies) are already conditioned to meat, so full change is not so easy. In that context, fake meat is not ironic at all. That's the most ironic to me. People that choose not to eat meat for one reason or another yet still pretending to, in essence supporting meat. Then again I feel sorta the same way about diet/low/no versions of foods. If ya want something, just eat it the original way. Maybe have less or have it less often.

The irony of veggies and vegans eating fake meat... Bet you are not a fan of meat unless it is seasoned. Seasoning is meant to enhance the taste, not provide it. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
