  1. Dropzone.com is the source of all truth.. there are so many wise people on here that know exactly what's good for me.. Should I give you some hope? I'll ask the others on here, they might be able to give me some advice..
  2. All, I want to get additional memory in my Powerbook (I started editting HD footage.. and I'd like to speed it up a bit) I checked out the apple website, 300 bucks for 1Gb.. Since the memory seems standard, I am wondering if I can just go out and buy memory somewhere else and it will work as well? I have the Powerbook G4, 15" 1.5 Any experience, feedback? Iwan
  3. Go check out Hilversum, Rotterdam, Teuge, or if you have some more time, Texel (you'll probably want to rent a car for this one though.. ) Public transportation will get you pretty much any place you want in the Netherlands.. Hilversum would be the closest out of all of these..
  4. I know you mentioned you don't want a Rebel.. have you looked at the Rebel 2000 (assuming you are looking at a film body) You can find those for about 100-150 bucks on eBay, and they come with a 28-80 lens, which is perfect for flying video (on the 28mm setting) for tandems. That camera is so light you barely feel it on your head and it is an awesome camera. Iwan
  5. 1. Show up Sunday. 2. Jump 3. I should be there (early) 2ish. dude.. 2-ish.. is "just in time for sunset load.. " Early is 8 AM! haha.. The plan is be there, and we'll git-r-done.. we'll have a nice fun filled day in Shannon's honor.
  6. East Bay baby... let me know if you need me to help you out with anything
  7. Since you changed your mind.. i might change my mind too.. Nuthouse crazyness tonite!
  8. Move to the peninsula so I can party with you Ohio style.. a LOT
  9. Just show up bro.. nothing's going on in Monterey Friday night anyways..
  10. I left them a voicemail asking about this. I'll post when they call me back. Anyway I got my 'A', so I'll be there from Friday. You need an A license to jump at the boogie, you need a B license to land in the main landing area is what it always was.. Come on out, you will have a blast! Last boogie I landed at the student area a bunch of times too.. specialty jumps are usually done over that area as well.. Iwan
  11. I wanted to give this one a bump, let's make it a big one on Sunday...
  12. The standard lens will work just fine with the camera, personally I am a huge fan of the Sigma 15mm, but you have to fork out another 400+ dollars for that lens. If you can't do that, you will be very happy with the standard lens (18-55) on your camera, it's a nice lens that will do the trick for you just fine.
  13. What camera are you using now for stills? Iwan
  14. Awesome, that would be very interesting to see. Several friends have the Z1 here as well, but that thing is way too big for "everyday jumping" as well as way out of my budget. I'm working on flying without a wide angle, or when I do.. use a wide angle that's not as wide as what is generally used. I've seen a lot of footage without wideangle lately (I've been editting some of Greg Gasson's footage from the holiday boogie in Eloy) and I like the image way better than any wide angle footage I have seen so far.. of course it helps that Greg is an extremely good camera flyer as well.. A guy at my home dz (Byron) is jumping the HC-1 as well, mainly without a wide angle and the footage just looks AMAZING..
  15. Can you expand on this one a bit more? You don't like the image stabilization on the HC-1? Or (according to your post, not as well) Is it very noticeable, or what are the issues, and for example how does it compare to image stabilization on today's cameras (for example I jump a TRV17 and I am pretty happy with the image stabilization on that one)
  16. yeah if I could justify the cost of the A1 I would totally get that one.. but I really can't
  17. I still ordered that one though, B&H is still selling it, and I've seen it in action in the air, since several people are jumping it already.
  18. Is anyone building a roll cage for the HC-1 (HD camera) yet? Iwan
  19. Peter, that design is PERFECT! Thanks so much for organizing all this.. Iwan
  20. If I hadnt already invested way too much money in Canon back in the day, I would have switched for sure.. at this point, that switch would put me in the poor house.. That, and the fact that Canon is quite a bit ahead in the digital world makes me want to stick to Canon.
  21. That would be the worst feature ever.. all it takes is a couple of seconds right around 10K to set your camera up right. Having the ISO change can severly impact your photos, and I cant think of ANY way that this could be useful. Every step in ISO means twice as sensitive, which is an enormous step. ISO 200 is twice as sensitive to light as ISO 100 ISO 400 is twice as sensitive to light as ISO 400 and the quality of the shot is impacted too.. an ISO 800 photo is not as easily enlarged as a ISO 100 photo.
  22. Happy Birthday Pop! Have a couple of margaritas El Cerrito style tonight!! Iwan
