  1. don't blame it on that, blame it on that tuna boat your flying. I'd be flying an 87 too... If I was built like an 8 year old girl, just like you! Ouch.. that's gonna leave a mark..
  2. :13:1 My first HIT on the pond.. video might follow later.. Two people having a knee grabber on the pond in a row.. that was a first for sure..
  3. You're not in the picture, so you just downloaded those off the internet.. I had lunch with my parents.. for the last time in a while.. dropped them off at SFO to go back to Dutchland..
  4. You used a picture of me hanging on the PAC on your business card? that's weird dude.. ha ha!! I know what you mean though, that plane is one hell of a good looking plane in photos!! I have a special mount for the flash.. I'll post some pics of it tomorrow.
  5. I think my first camera jump was around 350 jumps or so, and I got the camera suit about two weeks after I bought the helmet. I was pretty much 100% belly flying at the time. I never jumped the camera suit without wearing a camera (I have a couple of times since though to practice new maneuvres) What I did do was jump with small belly group filming them and landing extremely frustrated cause I was orbiting around them and couldn't figure out how to stop.. (happens to a lot of first timers on a new camera suit.. ) I added still about 100 jumps after my first video jump, since I am more passionate about photos than I am about video, and upgraded to digital 20 jumps later cause film cost was going through the roof.. At about 800 jumps upgraded to a Flat Top Pro (used to have a Full Box Pro) and added flash to my setup.. Yes, I have taken out formations.. why? Cause I wasn't listening to my camera coach (he told me this was too difficult a formation for my skill level.. how different is a 12 way really from a 4 way right? It's only belly flying right? WRONG) Just be really careful out there, get experienced people to jump with instead of new / low experienced people.. the experienced people stay more in one place so you can focus more on your flying and they know what good video is supposed to look like.. so they can coach you even more.. Take care and let me know if you have any more questions...
  6. Let me know which kind of photos you want of this.. more of the setup, or more of the photos taken with it? The angle of the flash has worked fine for me, it hasn't been a problem.
  7. Mine is posted here.. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_attachment;postatt_id=36953; The Digital Rebel is replaced with a 20D now.. but other than that it's the same setup.
  8. It all depends on what you want to achieve with the flash. do you want fill flash, or are you going to shoot it at sunset? If you want fill flash, I usually set the flash to "high speed sync" (so it syncs up at higher shutterspeeds) and I set the flash exposure to +1/3 or +2/3 Set your camera to your normal exposure values and off you go.. For sunset / low light conditions.. I just set the camera for whatever I think I need, and let the flash help provide enough light for the photo. Let me know if you have more specific questions..
  9. Nate, What kind of turns are you doing right now? And at what altitude are you initiating them? I fly a Sabre2 135 as well, loaded a bit higher (1.7:1 or so, maybe a bit higher) and the canopy dives pretty good, and pretty long.. How long are your average swoops that you are getting out of it? I mainly do 90s and the occasional 180 and that gets me across our 180ft pond easily with lots of speed left.. As said above, ask for some coaches to watch you and your approaches and give you pointers.. Iwan
  10. Flying with wings means you have to fly your legs a lot more than what you are used to. Just think of it this way.. you have more drag up front (waist up) so you are going to have to fly your legs a lot more. The more you expose your wings, the more you have to use your legs to compensate.. Try out your jacket on small belly ways instead of taking it straight on tandem jumps.. Let me know if you have any further questions.. Iwan
  11. Yeah the one all the way on the right right? ha ha.. my middle one is longer

    I wanna...

say something but it will get me in trouble
  14. And the Sigma lens is HUGE.. at least in comparison with the Canon 10-22mm
  15. Yeah I am working with PD on the smallest Sabre2 ever flown.. this one is about 40sq ft.. Its one of the funny effects of using a wide angle.. things that are a bit further away seem smaller and smaller.. Here are some shots from that jump http://www.shutterfly.com/progal/album.jsp?aid=768a5498cf5a6ffe8097 most of the photos are taken with that 8mm fisheye.. (the tracking jump was with my regular 15mm) People were literally flying in my face in some of these shots.
  16. I wonder if you copy the message into the other folders, or if you move it? Iwan
  17. If I'd turn 40 tomorrow I would be slightly freaked out yes.. but if I turn 40 about 12 years from now, I'd be ok I think.. Age is just a number..
  18. It looks much wider than that actually.. This is a photo I took with a 8mm Peleng lens.. The reason I say this is because of the edges of the frame, the 14mm won't do that.. and this is definately a circular fisheye photo.. This is one with the circular as well, but with the edges cropped off..
  19. Extremely sad... (most) women are so shallow! those women are there for the shallow men.. just keep looking.. there's ENOUGH good women out there.. you just haven't looked well enough yet..
  20. I took a couple of those too.. for those special tandems you sometimes get (ha ha.. the cute ones.. ) The first time I took my helmet off though.. I was terrified, I figured if I'd drop that thing I'd be out of the rotation for at least a season!
  21. Thats what I do too.. on my rebel I would even shoot on 256Mb cards.. now I switched over to 512 or 1Gb cards.. for fun jumps I can go all day pretty much with a 1Gb, or sometimes a whole weekend.. for tandems, I use one card per tandem..
  22. one of my first camerajumps ever.. and another one from last summer.. Good times..
  23. Yeah stop looking at them, turn the airconditioning up so its not so cold in your office and get back to work dammmit..
  24. I "lost" mine for 7 business days.. sent it out on monday of the first week, had it back on thursday the next. Granted it only had to come back from Southern Cali.. but still.. They dont just clean, they fix whatever is broken on your camera too.. one of my friends had cut the cover for the remote switch, and they put a new cover on there as well.. Iwan
  25. It's very easy to do yourself too.. you just figure out the wires and match them up, that's what I had to do for my 20D as well.. You buy a conceptus tongue switch, cut off the 2.5mm plug and go at it.. or buy the switch without a plug and use that one..
