unless I shoot with a longer lens (35mm+) on my digital camera, I shoot in manual focus. For longer focal length it gets too tricky and I use autofocus. Your trial pics worked, cause you had sports mode, and auto focus.. which means that the camera determined the correct exposure, and locked in focus on your subject.. so now your subject is in focus but.. people that are still fairly near to your main subject might not be, cause of the short depth of field that was caused by a larger aperture.. big boned huh? Seriously, like other people said call the different dropzones and find out what their rules are. Weight is not the only thing they look at.. if you're a 250 pound bodybuilder, you're still in shape and all that even though according to the weight restrictions you are "overweight" The weight thing has more to do with how in shape you are than with the real weight..

I'm a Canon shooter.. but I've shot enough with the D70 and I know several of my friends have the D70s I have heard no complaints about these cameras at all. If you already have a serious investment in Nikon gear.. stick with it. Nikon is VERY VERY good equipment.. the reason that many people went Canon is (and was) because they got ahead of Nikon in the digital world..

Sports mode focusses on getting high shutterspeeds, which can result in large apertures as well, which in turn results in shallow depth of field in your photos. Unless you are looking for that.. I'd stay away from sports mode. Try shooting in Tv mode, shutterspeed at 320 / 400 and have the camera pick the aperture to go with that. Shoot in ISO 100. on regular days your aperture will end up at or around F8 which gives you really nice depth of field.. You can do that for extra security, but I've never done that and it has never come open in freefall..

yeah and the focus doesnt work through the blinds.. I already added all sorts of cool filter stuff to get rid of the glare off the windows. now I just need a clear visual.. open the blinds!! -
If this DVD is watched on an HD or EDTV you will be able to tell the difference, as long as the DVD is authored in "native DVD format" which I believe is 480p or something, which is higher than what a HC-90 can do..
