Speaking of bad stunts...did anyone see the Baywatch where Mitch and another guy made a skydive and Mitch's main failed (reserve also, I believe) and he landed in the ocean, feet first, and was completely OK?? I saw this after reading a little bit about skydiving before my first jump and got up and was explaining to everyone around me, "That was a load of S#IT!!! You couldn't do that for anything!!!" Oh well...some producers aren't big fans of technical supervisors for stuff stuff, huh? bluz NEW AND IMPROVED!!! http://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/
  5. I don't wanna start flame wars here, but could've sworn that there was a thread about how INaccurate some of these articles. What is in most of them??? YES..."the parachute failed". This is not giving them the whole story. This is telling them that people die because of the equipment and nothing to do with pilot error. (exeption: low hook turns..but they don't know what that is) All I am trying to say is that a opening page should be inviting...not reek of death. I know that's a bit harsh and exageratting(sp), but it's what I think. Oh well, Sangiro does an excellent job with this website and I have no complaints, only some thoughts on what I think would make it a little more inviting for newbies.
  6. This isn't the point, as kevin pointed out. The point is that there are people who may join this great sport of skydiving who won't do so because of some stuff they read. That is all I'm trying to say. Sangiro...I would love to do an interview, write something, or do whatever to help out this website. All I'm trying to say is that I would rather see a large article about the Rodriguez Brothers (history, bio, etc, etc), Troy Hartman (I too e-mail with him), or checking out small, unknown, beautiful DZs from Europe or something. However, I do understand that you are only one person, Sangiro, and cannot do all of this by yourself, but if you ever have an idea for something, shoot it my way, as I am very resourceful for finding stuff. All in all, thanks for an AWESOME site!! I am on this like 5 hrs per day, at least. Later... NEW AND IMPROVED!!! http://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/
  7. dang tiger...sounds like you have a pretty sweet day anyway! (aside from skydiving at least). If I wasn't skydiving, (which I'm not yet), I wouldn't mind some canoeing, a "beeeeg" dinner, and a comedy show. Will you do this shit for me when I have my b-day??
  8. I am going to go with Greg on this one. First of all, people will find out soon enough how dangerous skydiving can be. But they need to get into it and be interested before that ever happens. I think there should be a link to it on the front page, but not have the stories themselves on the front page. It is important to know, but not everytime I come to dz.com and certainly not the first thing one sees when they first visit the site. Again, it's IMHO of course. bluz NEW AND IMPROVED!!! http://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/
  9. I agree that posting these incidents on here is important, but maybe should be on another page rather than the front. I think the front could be better used with some colorful picutres and stories like FFF's from last time. Just to show my thought, my buddy wanted to do a tandem the next time I go to jump and wanted to learn more about it. Naturally, I sent him to this site and the first thing he saw was like 5 or more deaths on the front page. Needless to say, he won't jump now and neither will anymore of my friends. No matter how much I explain, they still say, "It can happen to you." Yo Sangiro, I just think that it is something to think about (although I'm sure you've done that a lot!) Thanks for listening.

I don't know, you may run into some of those Crazy Rodriguez brothers with the sombreros and get confused! I would say everyone opt for some neon colored T-shirt with handwritten dz.com. That would be pretty sweet! BTW, is there anyone here who is a Rodriguez Bro??? Thanks folks! NEW AND IMPROVED!!! http://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/

I guess by the time he's done and working, he'll be able to outjump everyone here...and buy all the beer on top of that. But, I'm sure you've though of that already!
  12. wingnut...those are great stories! They all are really. It is so awesome how versatile you can be with skydiving. Some whuffos have told me that they think it would get boring jumping out of the plane over and over. I told him about all of the disciplines, exhibitions, etc, etc. Then I told him that he does certain things over and over and never seem to get boring...(see wanker thread).
  13. hey man...with mine, I set it like that too. When I go to main page, it asks for me to sign in, but when I click on forums, it logs me in. What about yours?? bluz NEW AND IMPROVED!!! http://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/
  14. Well, I have decided (after reading the posts) to find something else to do. For one, I won't be able to do JACK since I'll be in Mexico for 5 wks studying spanish. And two, six months would take too long since I can't even go to the DZ a whole lot (1.5 hrs away). So, I've found a construction job making about 400 per week, which is damn good! That should pay for a lot of jumps!! Although after 60 hrs or so per week of framing houses, jumping will sound DAMN sweet!! Thanks for all of the help!!
  15. Wouldn't it be "taming your little tiger"??? Just food for though. I guess I would be mounting my mountain?? Hmm...doesn't ring. NEW AND IMPROVED!!! http://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/

  22. Hey man...I would maybe be interested in something for deceration. 24. Sorry to tell you this Jefe, but I found FFF's pants over on another site. I think it was called www.hotnastyse...nevermind. Good luck getting out of work. BTW, do you ever go to Ohio?? If not, I COMPLETELY understand.
