  1. Hey Greg...another thought. I'm not sure if you have the Good Stuff vid from Joe Jennings, but there is a section in there about Arizona Airspeed. It shows them almost ALL outside of the plane. That is the 8-way too. Maybe you can find someone with it, or your DZ might have it and you can see it there. It is a pretty good clip and would probably help you since it shows them exiting several times. 4-way and 8-way I believe. Hope this helps... 2. thanks for the heads up. I live in Lima, OH and there are several DZs around these parts. I just hope that my DZ is ok with skysurfers. I really like the discipline and think it would be really fun!! Anyway, if anyone knows of some in the Ohio region, let me know! Especially if they have skysurfing training. blue ones Brandon and Laura http://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/ a work in progress

  5. Here ya go skymama... 1) to put your picture in, you have to go to edit profile, then go to your personal info and then paste your URL of whereever you have your picture loaded (e.g. http://www.mypic.com/me.jpg) Also, be careful of what shape the original is, because the sizing here can squish it all kinds of ways. 7. I can't wait until next year sometime when we can actually start looking for some rigs and other jump gear. I have seen some good ones on here recently. Thanks from me SANGIRO, I have learned so much more about skydiving here than I have read anywhere else (especially from the great folks on these threads. haha.....if you lived where I do, almost half of this is "industrial haze" anyway! having an oil refinery, a ford plant, and various other such things in the industrial belt of America makes for lots of overcast days--even without clouds!! blues Brandon and Laura http://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/ a work in progress
  9. Hey BillyZ...glad to have some more people here who are helpful. I am about 1/3000 on my way to having what you have. But hey, baby steps, right?? Anyway, can't wait to learn more from you! Blue ones Brandon and Laura http://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/ a work in progress

  11. cdunham....be sure that you go out and buy a square chute before you return to the DZ. We use these things call Ram-air...
  12. IFLYME has the main point here. Sometimes you can judge how the person will react to your skydiving. Then again, sometimes you can't. It's all a matter of perspective! Blues Brandon and Laura http://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/ a work in progress

  14. Hey Barrett....can you fill me in on the "hockey stick method"?? Sounds kind of fun to me. Sorta like those raft jumps or jumping with the weighted balls (no underlying meaning) blue ones (not balls)...I'll stop now:) Brandon and Laura http://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/ a work in progress

  16. are you allowed to say that here?? someone check the rule book!!! seriously, thanks for the info. I will be taking a little "packing class" from the senior rigger at the DZ and will always be working with them around. I guess this is how they keep it legal. Thanks again...blue skies, big planes, and NO MALS!! Brandon and Laura http://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/ a work in progress
  17. I am agreeing with "wildblue" on this one. If they don't like it, I don't want to have to spend 40 hrs per week with those people. I will be graduating college in May 2002 and will be looking for a teaching job well before then. I haven't decided yet if I will put my aspirations of skydiving (can't do AFF till May 2002). Although I also don't think they you should be prejudged according to your personal life. The fact that I will skydive has no pertinance to how well I will teach Spanish. I guess whichever side of the tracks I'm on when the time comes to send out resumes, that's what will go on there. But, it just isn't fair. I guess if you don't golf, you aren't good enough for some jerk people. Jerks. Sorry.... Blue skies! Brandon and Laura http://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/ a work in progress

cacophoney...you are so much into thought than I am. I was just trying to figure out what was going on in this thread. I'm still not sure... You lost me around though on yours around: "mind" Brandon and Laura http://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/ a work in progress
  19. I think ignoring them would be your best bet. Those are not people I would want to hang out with. How long could you listen to, "Hey, Herb. Whaddya think about the approaching front with a high pressure system coming in from the north causing a jet stream obscuring the low-pressure system we've had lowering the visibility in the upper quadrant? Yeah, me too!" No thanks man...hehe Blue skies, high ceilings, low winds, big planes, and naked jumps Brandon and Laura http://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/ a work in progress
  20. I finally got my info packet of information today from Aerodrome Sky Sports where I am going to be taking my AFF next year. It had a brochure on the VR simulator for canopy training. This is only offered at two DZ's in the US right now: the one that I'm going to and then the Cleveland DZ in Cleveland, OH. They are both within 3 hrs of me. Anyway, I am totally syked for this. FYI, this is what Prez. G. Bush Sr. practiced on before his AFF several years ago. Should be a great learning tool. Do you think they'll let me swoop or do hook turns on the simulator before my first jump?? (Didn't think so, but it was a thought!) 21. I am interested in skysurfing once I get enough experience and jumps under my belt (under my canopy?). Anyway, I am wondering if there is anyone here who does this. And if so, what advice would you give me for it? After watching Good Stuff with Rob Harris, Patrick de Gayardon(sp) and Troy Hartman, I am stoked about doing this discipline of it. I think it is such a cool, beautiful, overlooked aspect of the sport. Any advice, comments, bashing, and/or overall wisdom will be appreciated. 22. Hey Caco...I have an idea. You should become a weather man, move to my DZ area and forcast the weather. Here is my theory: obviously, whatever the weatherpeople predict, the complete opposite happens. You can go there and predict rain, sleet, hail, a 100 ft ceiling, and high winds everyday. Maybe we'll get the opposite everyday! I am such a genius!! Wait...did I spell genius right? Is it genias? ginies?? DOH!!! Anway, it could just work!! 24. hey Zennie....I am not much help on this issue, but I am interested as well! I think JJ is the best camera flyer ever. Good Stuff is the best movie ever and I still get tingles from watching it (even after 50 times). Can't wait until the DVD comes out with interviews, behind-the-scenes, etc. Cielos azules... 25. good thinkin Pammi....I am wondering if Laura and I should start a little baby factory here to put out mass quantities of packers. Hey, until they get about 12, they will get tired of packing all day and we'll have to rotate them. hahaha.....blue ones. Brandon and Laura http://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/ a work in progress
