  1. Is he talking more about being so heavy and having a faster fall rate than most being belly down?? I am not sure how much you speed up for how much more you weigh, but being a big guy would definetely put more strain on your rig. (per Wingy's vids)
  2. I guess I'm talking more LIFE insurance. I am pretty sure I'm covered as far as medical, but life insurance is where you can't really lie on how you bite it. Anyone know of a decent priced place for that??
  3. I'm not a big rec user, but what is an ALF?? Is it like a PLF??
  4. To me, it seems like there are two arguements here. 1) After a tandem are you a skydiver?? NO. 2) After a tandem are you still a whuffo? NO. It seems like there is "no man's land" between the two. I am one of these people who you are all talking about, so I can speak with SOME knowing. I would not consider myself a skydiver because I have no clue how to pack, how to fly my body, how to land a canopy or any other actual "how-to" things, except what I've read in books/internet/etc. However, I don't consider myself a "whuffo" either. I know VERY WELL why all of you jump out of planes--it's the best feeling in the world!
  5. This is correct! If you think about it, the def of a "whuffo" stems from "Whuffo you jump outta dem planes?". After doing a tandem jump, you know EXACTLY why people jump outta planes. Hence, eliminating all question and the title of "whuffo". Case closed.
  6. Thanks for the quote man! To me, I think that a regular insurance policy WITHOUT skydiving coverage on it would be good. I don't think I could justify spending that much $$ for something I could only use once (just a joke), but would be paying it all the time. Hopefully, we won't get too far into debt where my wife would really need it. And, I guess if you have great family, they could always help out if needed. More opinions? Comments? Questions?
  7. seems like if it was older, you would want to just see what it's made of. But if you ask me, a tie-dye rig would clash with my camo jumpsuit!
  8. I am wondering how many people have life insurance on themselves. My wife and I have it, but I don't think that skydiving is covered under it. Also, what kind of rate increases are you looking at when you get that coverage??? Just food for thought and do you think it's worth having? Thanks for all the input!!!
  9. I would fall under the catagory of: Uninformed drivel that sounds somewhat plausible
  10. If I were you I would email Tanya Garcia O’Brien from Perris Skydiving in Cali. She is the World Champion and could probably give you a great recommendation on buying new gear if you want to start skysurfing. I am also VERY interested in skysurfing when I get the experience necessary. Click here for her website with e-mail. Also, click here for a great article on learning to skysurf and what you should know before. Hope this helps you!!
  11. thanks for the advice! I'll be sure and stick with the dos equis

  20. Hey all! I am putting Wingnut's rip movie and another movie with tandems on my computer and setting it up as FTP. Here is the place to go: ftp://24.29.164.111/ then go to the folder called wingnut. I hope that this works for you all and is not TOO slow. I have Road Runner cable internet. Remember, this is running on my computer, so if it is down for a minute or two, I am restarting or whatnot. I'll continue to keep this up as long as he wants it up or until you all stop checking it out. Please, feel free to copy it to your computer (per Wingnut's permission) so you can view it all you want. I am using that G6 FTP Server program for this. If any of you has any tips for something for this, let me know. Otherwise, everyone enjoy!! Blue skys!!!!

  24. come to think of it, I can leave it on my FTP (computer) for a week. I'll leave it on till I leave for Mexico (next Sunday). I have cable internet so it'll be somewhat fast. But, if you find someone who has a better, faster server, that would be better for you (and those watching it). Let me know! MORE SKYDIVING PHOTOS ADDED!!! http://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/
  25. hey bud....i can put it on my computer and set it up FTP syle if you want. 20 MB is a lot for freeservers. I could have my computer up for FTP for like 2 days or something until someone else can get something more permenant. I would love to see it, so if you can email it to me, that would be cool! Thanks man. MORE SKYDIVING PHOTOS ADDED!!! http://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/
