hey all......i know that there are a TON of these things, but I dont recall seeing this one: All of us from the DZ were at Chili's the other day talking about exit weight and wing loading over some beers and Long Islands, and I noticed something-------> You are a skydiver if, when asked your weight, you give your exit weight....and you have to subtract your gear weight to remember your "real" weight. I used to throw in Good Stuff everytime my buddies would come home from college and I would ask them, "Hey, have you guys seen this yet??". They would always answer.....YEA......lots of times. That was my first choice, but then I thought that my wife would get mad at me for all the girls trying to grope my hackey. I think I am going to get red/grey. And the only reason is because I think that all the white and yellow on the other one will get dirty too quick. I dont know...it just seems that dirty stuff pisses me off. Especially when I try to land that canopy for the first time. I can just see that white stripe suddenly becoming a bright green one. Thanks all for your opinions. Hey Austin....how long have they said until you expect your Wings to get in? I am just wondering what the whole turnaround time is. Also, what kind of canopies did you get with it and what are you loading them at?

Thanks Newguy and Dutchboy.....my gear store guy is an Icarus man, and I think he's going to try to get me under a Safire or something. However, I have heard tons of good things about the Hornet, so I'm probably going to stick with it. You can't beat $910 for a very nice, Zero-P, semi-ellip canopy. Any other comments you have to make on it, please leave them. Also, can you find a website for PISA that has info on the canopy?? I haven't been able to find anything. What?? Maybe where you live, but I surely am not going to be putting my order in for a Sweethog container. With that, a brand new Manta or Raider with a FXC 12000 to save my life with a round parachute. Woohoo!!

must have been nice Jaybird.....we had the regular, slow-ass Cessnas at the DZ again this weekend. Oh yeah.....did I meantion that the pilots didn't decide to be there most of the time anyway?? I was at the DZ from Friday at noon until Sunday at 10:30am and only got in 2 damn jumps. They were good jumps, but I want to get my license. At this rate, I may have it before I get too old to jump. Oh well....at least the boogie is coming up and I can load up on jumps and order our new gear. Woohoo!!

yeah....that is a good way to point it out. I need to just put them both on my screen and just stare at them for 20 min. Then, go to bed and see which one shows up in my dreams. That will probably determine which one.

I dont think that I have THAT long to think about it. That will probably never make any sense. Hahaha!!! I like the blue/yellow since it is bright and colorful, but the red/grey is just sharp looking. And, it won't fade as fast. -------------- Check out our all-new website!

Yeah.....that is my plan. I need to get jumpsuits too. I would like a freefly jumpsuit and a RW suit as well (I need to get good for AFF). Anyway, thanks for all of your opinions. It is really cool to see what you guys all think. I think right now it is between the blue/yellow/white and the red/grey/black. I CAN'T DECIDE!!! Argggg......

I am wondering if anyone here has a Hornet canopy?? I have read all of the comments on it and it sounds pretty awesome. I am wanting to get a 170 with all my new gear, but have heard different things. Some people think it's too small and some people think that it would be a good learning canopy. I'll be loading it at about 1.3:1, but my student canopy has been loaded at about 1.1:1. Personally, I think that this would be a good idea, because it would give me the opportunity to grow into it and not become bored with it after 20 jumps. I would like to hear all of your opinions about it. I have heard NOTHING but good about the Hornet. I would like to demo it before I but it, but if that is not possible, I want to know what to expect. One more question....where can I find out more info about the canopy?? I cannot find a website about it or find more pictures of it. The only info I have got has been from dz.com. Thanks for all your help!!

I dont want to take you off of S/L, but I was wanting a whole minute of freefall. I think you can learn more freefall maneuvers in AFF. When you get done with 20 jumps, you'll have much more freefall experience. Just my .02..... -------------- Check out our all-new website!
