One bit of advice, If you plan to leave the normal tourist route Take a good supply of Pens (example BIC) and buy boiled sweets. Actually I think MicroSoft said that if you have a pirated copy and it is set up for automatic actulisation you do not need a key. As they are worried about people with pirated versions of thier product not being able to update security fixes thus propogating viruses through badly protected systems. I'm not a AFF instructor, just a humble skydiver but this story is fun, Back in th 80's I started on static in England an due to weather an work it was taking to long so I went to EmpuriaBrava to do AFF, my instructors were Reddy Redfern an a young Bruno Brokken, on the third jump they changed to Mitch Decotau an Reddy. at exit I muffed the count an swung my leg wrong, Mitch being primary saw this an tried to correct the mistake with his leg but my swing was quite energetic an I left the aircraft with Mitch in tow. I ended up straddled across his back an stayed there till 8000ft (bronco style). My aff finished without further incidents. Months later when talking to Mitch about this,He said that you were stable on my back Reddy had given me the thumbs up (meaning I was stable an not freaked out) so he let me stay there instead of trying to buck me off an get me stable again. He failed me on that level but the learning curve was worth 50 jumps. I wonder how many instructors today have that kind of Intuition Dont know where Mitch is now but I sorley miss his Margaritas Gone fishing

Nice thread, Brings back memories, at my local DZ the only people who would shout GO are visitors an they get educated very quickly This DZ is an exception to the rule, as experienced freeflyers exit first an anyone who has the balls or is impatient enough to shout at worldclass freeflyers will get spoken to (discretly) I learnt to spot at Netheravon back in the days of the wdi (woody) an being a military DZ an very boystrious, many a time the JM whilst spotting would recieve a boot in the back an become a human wdi OK at Nethers back in the 80's the only obsticals were the church an the center itself an this kind of behaviour would'nt be tollerated at a public DZ but it went a long way for this low level (at the time) jumper to see a more comical (read: if they can be so flipant at exit time why should I be nervous) side to skydiving sorry I think I just drifted the thread Gone fishing
