Ok I connected the HD on the main computer an tried to boot it. With the XP cd in the tray. (first I have to explain I'm translating from Spanish I've never seen a boot screen or windows in English) so I boot up an after the video,bios, or cmos information I get "Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM" "NO EMULATION PRESS ANY KEY TO START FROM CD. ERROR READING DISK" If I use the restore option it takes me to a MS DOS command line and from thier I'm lost I start to install XP go through the first few screens untill a screen comes up saying unknown partition so I partition NTFS 30mb carry on with the instalation untill it automatically reboots Then Whammo back to "Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM" "NO EMULATION" PRESS ANY KEY TO START FROM CD. ERROR READING DISK I tried a couple of times to reinstall XP but no luck Funny thing is the XP instalation tells me I've a unknown partition but when I hook it up as a slave an look in properties it comes up as a NTFS partition So now it's in the trash What the hell does "no emulation" mean? Problem 1: went to boot the other computer (XP all service packs installed) on start up the screen said "disk error no emulation" after further investigation I fount that the hard drive had lost it's format (NTFS), Changing the hard drive to slave an looking at it every thing was still thier. an looking in properties "D" it came back "unknown format" Any ideas Problem 2: I loaded XP on a new HD now I get a little red X on most of my jpg images especially in IE 6 Ive PSP 7 and Photo shop installed Any help apprieciated Ps seem to remember losing a boot sector on that HD about a year ago reformated an worked fine again.
