  1. I don't want to talk about it. After the 6 on 4 open net goal, I thought we had a chance.....but no. We have not seen the cup since 92. I thought it was coming back to the 'Burgh.
  2. If you called me at UPT (the maker of the Vector H/C), this is the advise I would give you. I do not want to sell you equipment that you will not be happy with in 50 jumps. Rent/borrow gear for your first 50-100 jumps and then, when you have an idea what you will need more long term, think about new (custom) gear. We want you to be happy with your container for more than 100 jumps and you will go through a canopy progression in your first 100 jumps that will change the sizes of canopies you will be jumping significantly from jump 1 to jump 50 or 100. If you have questions, you can call and speak to me at UPT or email me at Markk@uptvector.com.
  3. I think "electric 8 way" style board meetings might make some improvement. Mark
  4. Your right, it was 5 rounds, I was thinking it was 50-42 from 2 judges. but I can buy the 50-44. It was late and I was only half watching the scoring considering that I had to be at work at 7:00 this morning. I agree that he was waiting out the one round. All in all, I thought it was a great fight and Jens impressed me with his chin/endurance, but I think he is close to being finished. Faber is impressive as hell. While they are not quite the UFC, the WEC put on a good show.
  5. That was a SLUGFEST. Iron chin on Jens. I thought the judges were a little harsh. I think 2 of them scored it 22-30 and one 25-30. I think the 3 rounds of 8 are a little harsh.
  6. Anyone watching the Jens/Faber Fight on Vs.?
  7. Is anyone else watching it this year? I think everyone on Rampage's team (most who lost in the first round) are at a HUGE disadvantage because he (Rampage) sleeps during the training sessions and the only thing you ever hear him saying from the corner is "Get Up!!!". To call this coaching is a joke. i think Dana picked a real loser as far as his coaching skills. He wants to be all of their "Best Friend" rather than coach. Mark Klingelhoefer
  8. I find that a daffy (legs like you are doing lunges) is more stable than X-man (legs spread like you are doing a jumping jack) Mark Klingelhoefer
  9. Retail price was $740 at the time (without options) Mark Klingelhoefer
  10. You and me both. I see where their membership dues are going. Unsolicited mailers. I have been getting offers to join AOPA in the mail almost every week for the last two months, and I don't even own a plane nor have a pilot's license to fly one.
  11. Edit to correct UPT from RWS
  12. If you have any questions about a Vector 3 (with a SkyHook), give me a call and I let you know what we can do for you. Mark Klingelhoefer United Parachute Technologies markk@uptvector.com 386-736-7589
  13. Working where I do, I've pretty much seen all the different phrases you can have on your handles, but the one that comes to mind (very nerdy) is 'ctrl X' on the cutaway handle and 'ctrl V' on the reserve handle. Mark Klingelhoefer
  14. First of all, I think this gift is about the best thing you could buy a "new" jumper (except maybe jump tickets). I would stick with an analog altimeter. I'd go with the standard Alti Galaxy. I have found their customer service is great and the lifetime guarentee on them is nice to. Another thing to consider is that once he starts traveling and going to boogies, Alti is at a lot of those boogies and will do things like free calibrations and replacement parts (such as velcro and lenses). The good thing about this gift is he can use the same altimiter for jump 1 and jump 10,000. It is not something he will "outgrow" like a container or canopy.
  15. I let it flow, but aim for the drain.
  16. Mars actually makes the container they were refering to.
  17. The fact that you had to ask "Does anyone have any experience with this company Velocity Components ?? " is exactly the reason our delivery times are longer than theirs. We currently have the most popular rig in the world for a number of reasons (Innovation vs. imitation only being one of those). It does not take 6 months to make a container, for us, it takes around 5 weeks, however, our production schedule is currently fully booked until October. We are making containers as fast as our line and quality control departments can currently allow. We are getting ready to expand our production facility, however, building and staffing can take some time (ask your sister). When you go to an amusement park, there are "rides" and there are the "best rides in the park". Generally, you can get on the "rides" within a couple minutes; however, if you want to ride the "best rides in the park" you are usually in line for while before you are seated.

  19. First time my father saw me jump, I had an out landing in a postage stamp size front yard. (my first out and yes I bought beer) After that, he thought I was going to kill myself every weekend until I came back with a couple medals from Nationals and then he though that I must know what I was doing so he stopped worrying (or at least vocalizing it). 20. I tried the patch a couple times. They are easy to roll, but I can't keep them lit.
  21. I was so glad when they got pulled from the air on 104.1. I so prefer hearing the replay of the Monsters then these two. To quote the Hideout guys (last evening show), their show defined "ear rape". Goodbye and good ridence Rex and Scarey.
  22. Cirie did absolutley nothing but ride everyone elses coat tails. I don't think she one a single competition, she wa a TOTAL leach.
