  6. Sorry to repeat myself but who was selected as Mid Eastern Regional Director?
  7. The General Membership Meeting is a meeting where USPA members can discuss issues directly with the BOD. The regular BOD sessions are normally open to the membership except when they discuss personalities. This means things such as (but not limited to)disciplinary actions, expelling a BOD member or discussing a lawsuit.
  8. Speaking of Board members- Who was selected as Mid Eastern Regional Director?
  9. You forgot to mention the bar tab. Now there's a big expense!!!
  10. I thought he was so old that they wrote him OFF!!
  11. I'm simply guessing here. Their attention was split between navigation, keeping their operations center (and therefore the authorities) updated and worrying about a bomb going off. I'm not familiar with the autopilot on that plane back then but it seems they had altitude hold and the manual heading bug (dial with a pointer) engaged. You would have to manually turn a knob to change heading. It wouldn't be automatic. This could cause them to not be precisely on the airway and wandering a bit. Again, simply a guess on my part.
  12. Earlier in this thread, I believe it was Gary Peek who said the link on USPA.org to send one e-mail to the Full Board had been disabled at some BOD members request. I recently sent an e-mail to each BOD member on a different matter. I fat fingered each e-mail address from the list in Parachutist. Took some time but it worked. I have received acknowledgement or comments from almost every BOD member.
  13. Hey Ckret, what was the location where they found the door placard? .
  14. Sure, it's easy. When a carnation falls out of my lapel, I just re-in it.
  15. An interesting thing I learned yesterday was that military radar back then had no recording device. As in no tape. I am 100% sure about this. So if this was the track from McCord (sp?) it was hand written lat/long's by the operator as the plane was being tracked.
  16. I was looking at this chart that was posted earlier of the 727's flight path. After comparing it to other sectionals and low enroute charts I can see that the plane was east of V-23 and then overshot BTG VOR before turning back toward PDX VOR. The crew was busy with a lot of other things and I can understand why their navigation was not precise.
  17. I heard the ad was Bill’s idea. Makes sense. After all, he has a lot of experience with people going down and sudden ejections of material! Makes me wonder about Hillary wanting to occupy that same office space. I wonder if she will keep the humidor.
  18. When I was 13 yrs. old I saw the Golden Knights jump into an airshow I was at. Back then they were jumping PC's. I have never been the same since.
  19. Here's something to think about concerning the flight path of the 727. Is the data Ckret supplied simply based on the flight planned route? If so it would be a straight line drawn between each VOR on the route the aircraft was flying. An actual airway is 4 miles to each side of this line. So an airway is actually 8 miles across. More fuel for the fire.
  20. It's interesting that Cooper asked for just $200,000. This amount was not so bulky that he couldn't carry all of it on a jump and it just happened to be in Seattle ready to go. Inside information? Hmmm...
