  1. reply] i was told that if a girl were to flash the pilot prior to takeoff... free altitude... Before takeoff or after takeoff, it don't matter. When I'm flying jumpers I always abide by "tits for 'tude".
  2. Jon, Is the driver by chance Doug Hartwell, aka Slut Puppy?
  3. Looks like Tony Loper on the far right.
  4. We just got 8 inches of snow. I took the snow blower and drew out a 36 foot peace symbol in the front yard. Peace on Earth everyone!!!!
  5. I don’t care about the airplane. That’s not what’s important. I want to know what DZ the jumpers are from! It’s all a matter of priorities.
  6. Thanks for the explanation. Seems they did the old switheroo on you. Sorry if it seemed like I was splitting hairs on the subject line. The important thing is that you got this out to all of us and it is appreciated!
  7. Thanks for the reply! So if I understand this situation in my limited way, my Norton AV has removed any virus loaded on my computer but the malware could re-infect me if I happen to get on a web site whose server has been infected.
  8. I appreciate you posting this information. But I want to point out that you didn't paste the last line from the report you copied. This makes your subject line inaccurate. Of course it probably means that Microsoft is trying to down play the seriousness of the situation. Below is the full report with the missing line highlighted. Regardless, there is a big problem here and I appreciate everyone who is posting advice and information. Full Report- It appears that the exploit in IE briefly mentioned a few days ago is causing a serious reaction: SteveAU writes "Microsoft has begun flooding media outlets with information advising users to switch to an alternate browser while a serious security flaw is being patched. The flaw, which affects all versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer, is manifested via malware and has infected over 6000 sites thus far. Microsoft states: 'The vulnerability exists as an invalid pointer reference in the data-binding function of Internet Explorer. When data binding is enabled (which is the default state), it is possible under certain conditions for an object to be released without updating the array length, leaving the potential to access the deleted object's memory space. This can cause Internet Explorer to exit unexpectedly, in a state that is exploitable.'" According to the BBC report, though, Microsoft itself is only asking that users be "vigilant while it investigated and prepared an emergency patch"; it's outside experts who say to dump IE (at least for now). 9. From PhreeZones great explanation of what happened- The viruses frequently target Anti Virus software to disable them to keep the infection going. After I log on to DZ.com and the forums wouldn't open for me, I noticed that my Norton Anti Virus was turned off. And when I opened Norton to turn it on, it wouldn't respond. I then reloaded and updated Norton and ran a scan. It seemed to work fine and then detected and removed a program called bloodhound. Everything seems fine now. Do you think this was enough to eliminate this thing from my computer? Thanks for any advice!
  10. I just read their business plan. Seems they lose a little on each client, but they make up for it in volume.
  11. I have 3 hard wired smoke alarms in my home as well. As I’m sure you know, the batteries are a backup for a household electrical failure. In fact, I just had to change my batteries because one of mine started chirping. Normally that is an indication of a low battery. I changed all three batteries and the chirping went away. I don’t understand why, as you say, 2 of them are still chirping. If you changed all 3 batteries then possibly one or more of the batteries are bad. But that seems strange. If you are sure the batteries are good, then I really have no new advice except to repeat your own advice, that you need to call BRK/ First Alert in the morning. If you disconnect the alarms from the hard wire, then take the batteries out, this should also stop the chirping until you find out what the problem is. But this also will mean you have no smoke detection until you hook them back up!
  12. That’s defiantly the old Z-hills covered packing area in the background. In your first photo it looks like Smitty on the left and Chet Poland on the right. Is that your Dad in the middle? In your second photo, the guy just to the right of Smitty looks like a person in another photo posted in this thread.
  13. Yes, there used to be. But then I got out of full time jumping and got married. After that, women just wern't drawn to the sport like they used to be. I know, I know. I'm full of shit!

I didn't know they had a drug problem in Iceland.
  15. With each retelling, the gap diminishes. Next time it will be centimeters! I'm going to repost the photo someone took of me with my back out the door of the DC3. It wasn't the same jump but it was the same plane and you can get a good idea of how close the horizontal stabilizer is. Hell Pat, the way your story is going, next time you tell us about it your going to hit it!!!!
  16. There was at least one fatality I can remember at Z-hills in the early 1980's when a tall skinny Brazilian did a poised, standing exit, facing the line of flight and hit his head on the leading edge of the horizontal stab. I remember another incident many years ago where Mike Truffer, editor of Skydiving Magazine, dove out of a DC-3 and brushed his feet on the horizontal stab. I don't believe he was injured. For those of you who don't know him, Mike has a fairly light, slim body. Hey, let's be careful out there!
  17. Well of course the Shaggy Dog didn't drive the car. He was the star and they couldn't risk having him hurt himself. Everybody knows they got a stunt Sheepdog to do the driving scenes.
  18. Hi Bill! Yeah, I remember Dixie and JAX. The Coonass Skydivers turned me on to them when I used to jump at Roy E. Ray. Thoes were some fun people and fun times!
  19. I had to try one just to make sure. I wasn't surprised when it sucked. But just remember that I sacrificed myself for all of you. Hey that makes me sound like…… Oh never mind.
  20. Well.. in my own defense, it's not fake video, it's real video. The content might be questionable, but it's still video You know, it sounds like you might have a promising career in politics!
  21. The 120 way was built out of one C-130 that was brought in from South Africa. It was completed on 8/11/86 in Quincy.
  22. ....SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trust me, spend your money on some good beer.
  23. Hmm, I just looked at the back of the prints. They're dated Sept. 1986. HW Well....... so much for my guess!
  24. I'm pretty sure it is Quincy, IL. The Skyvan looks like the base plane for the 144 way Diamond we did there. That would narrow it down to August 1988. I beleive Dick was one of the Judges for the record.
  25. .... no more Political Ads on TV for a while!!!
