  1. True. I had a shoulder injury once (not a dislocation) and it hurt to do just about anything, but I was able to fly my wingsuit with no pain... really weird since we think the wingsuit strains our shoulders so much. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  2. This from the guy flying the big suit. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  3. Omar was doing it long before he met me too, but I'm sure he wasn't the first either. And yeh, it's too bad about the dog. He should have a human baby by now too, I need to check up on that! Omar doing a gravitron Omar doing a gravitron and flipping me off Look at 0:40 here for a clip of Omar doing a barrel roll gravitron. The move at 3:00 is pretty cool too, it may not be in a vertical orientation, but I'd still call it free-flocking (another word Omar coined). Didn't you have 5 wingsuit jumps when I met you at Z-Flock 1.0 in March 2005? Btw, had to search the forums to find that date... blast from the past... go here to read some really old posts. Here is an old Omar post I found about acrobatix. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  4. Ok, $15 jumps definitely needs to be added to the original post if that is the deal (that should attract more people). For those who don't know, that's the DZO who just said that. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  5. I haven't encountered that extension yet, but if you install the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack (very easily searchable on Google), you will be able to play every video file known to man with regular old Windows Media Player. I get a kick out of playing Quicktime videos in WMV. Also, VLC is good, as mentioned previously. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

    Road head

The phrase "cross country" has a special meaning to me. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  7. I believe you can get gaff tape in a variety of colors here: http://www.tapebrothers.com/ www.WingsuitPhotos.com

    Backflying

For one, a photo captures a moment in time. For two, you are looking at 4 different people flying 4 different wingsuits. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  9. Hard to believe it's been 4 years since the first one. The photos are up! CLICKY www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  10. It seems to me that once the wing is inflated and you are in steady state flight, the mylar should really not make a difference. It might help during initial inflation, or dynamic moves though, a little bit. If that little bit in those certain situations is important to you, then get it. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  11. This one's for the midgets. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  12. I was on that load. Our exit altitude was 22,100. I was referring to a different jump, the one Tony was talking about... see my quote. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  13. What was his exit altitude? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  14. I am sure all the pilots in Texas are collectively responsible for what happened in that photo you posted? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  15. What version, what browser? Requires version 10 of the flash plugin. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  16. I thought Jarno called it "sitting pony?" www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  17. Very nice! Did you ever get your gear back? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  18. Better late than never? My new personal record for longest time to release a video ever. Only took me about 8 months! This is from August 2008 at Pepperell, MA. Watch (HD) Watch (standard) www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  19. No, he's talking as if safety matters more than any of the other "how good I am" nonsense. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  20. http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=1294599 I did a similar deal a while back and got 3x 8GB CF cards for around $11 total. You pay quite a bit more but they send you a rebate eventually in the form of a pre-loaded VISA card, so you end up getting these things dirt cheap after rebate (in this case you pay $108 and get a $90 VISA card for your rebate). I have no need for SDHC cards at the moment but still couldn't pass up such a good deal... I may have to get one of those new T1i's in the near future anyway. EDIT: Already expired, 30 minutes after I found it. The good deals always go quick. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  21. ... the wingsuit scene, at least. For those of you who don't know, Texas has a flock! I've been living here about a year now, and in that short time I've seen the flock grow both in size and skill. Purple Mike is spreading the fever (who knows what else he is spreading) at Skydive Houston and the surrounding area. I know he is planning to have our very own event here soon, so keep your eyes open and hopefully he posts something about it. Remember, we are conveniently located between the east and west coasts... we are the third coast! And, we've got puffies... For now, some photos of what we've been up to for the past several months: http://www.matthoover.com/gallery/skydiving-photos/2008-06/ http://www.matthoover.com/gallery/skydiving-photos/2008-10/ http://www.matthoover.com/gallery/skydiving-photos/2008-12/ http://www.matthoover.com/gallery/skydiving-photos/2009-03/ Of particular interest is the double pooper exit shot. Now dubbed the poo-poo. And last but not least, 2 special photos of Purple Mike attached to this post. Remember, as a kid, when your parents told you to stop making that funny face, or it would stick? Here's why... www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  22. Small update: I've added a "Watch (standard)" option for those who aren't able to view the HD files smoothly, due to either a slow connection or a slow CPU. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  23. Check this post I made with 4 pictures illustrating... www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  24. Jarno's technically right here. The dictionary is supposed to be the ultimate source of the meaning of words for laymen, which most of us are. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  25. While this appears to be a joke, some people reading may not know that a few years ago, a fatal incident resulted from somebody waiting too long to unstow their toggles. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
