Puerto Rico 2009, from my perspective....

Don't give up yet, I'm still trying to understand your original post here, the one that has caused all the argument. Here you are talking about the bag "rising above or even with the PC" in the absence of friction staging. Despite literally dozens of requests to explain how this is possible with a throwout system, you still have not. Yes, if the pin is popped early (by an unexpected external force, not by the PC), then the bag can indeed fall out and you will have a horse shoe malfunction. But you would not describe that as "the bag rising even with or above the PC"... you would describe that as the bag being out and the PC being in... a simple horse shoe. When you say the bag is "accelerating toward/past the PC"... you are implying the PC is out already, and that a normal sequence deployment is already in process. So... how can a bag rise past a tensioned bridle and inflated PC, with a throwout deployment system? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Another year of flocking in paradise. What more could we ask for? CLICK Plenty of old and new faces this year. Looking forward to 2010 already!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Every single photo I've ever had published has been on my website first, at 400x600 pixels (bigger than the tiny thumb posted here, but still low-res). Print exclusivity is not too concerned with a personal portfolio hosted on a web gallery. In fact, I often use my web gallery as a submission vehicle. It was fun flying and hanging with you again this year Zach (and everybody else)! Sorry I missed that CRW jump, looked fun. I will definitely be staying until Monday morning next year, to be able to jump all the way through Sunday. Did you guys get a lot of jumps in Sunday afternoon? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Pictures from the day attached. First one, it's hard to tell, but we're about 100ft above the coast, a short 5-minute steep hike after a 1-hour horseback ride on the beach. We're actually right next to some old naval base. That was yesterday. Second one, I have no idea where those girls came from. Really. I didn't even know they were in the photo until hours after I took it. I had the camera on a tripod and the shutter on a timer and was looking away when this shot was taken. Purple Quag, eat your heart out... www.WingsuitPhotos.com

About time, I was wondering if C Blue, Esquire would ever show his face down here. Only took him 4 years. But you guys are late. Ashey (white girl with chicken to Chuck) and I have been here for 3 days already! We hiked El Yunque rainforest for about 7 hours today... about 6 miles hiked roundtrip, nearly 1 mile vertical from start to finish. The sky opened up twice, right now half my shit is spread around the hotel drying, but it was worth it. Purple Quagmire is here too, but he went down to the south side to dive. Giggidy. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

it's been discussed already. right in this thread. see page 5... the answer was NO. I just read page 5 and it looks like the answer was yes if you provide your own transpo. But I'm not even on the jump, so what do I care, as long as you all don't drown? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

You know I'll be there. I moved to Houston last year and was excited about the 2008 event. I even had several people from FL and other states that were gonna come. Hopefully I can re-enlist them all for this fall. I work right across the street from the LZ so it will be interesting to have co-workers come out and watch. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

What is the wingsuit mod for containers?
The111 replied to skittles_of_SDC's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Thats just it, I am NOT, nor have I said that it can or does occur at a high rate, but that the possibility exists and therefore is a consideration to take into account. Robi says the only way it's possible is if your PC explodes. Where have you said that? www.WingsuitPhotos.com -
What is the wingsuit mod for containers?
The111 replied to skittles_of_SDC's topic in Wing Suit Flying
He doesn't know it all, he's asked you the same question I have several times and you haven't answered it, nor has your expert. Please EXPLAIN how a pin can be removed from a container by a pilotchute at full bridle extention, then have the bag and linestows removed by the same drag/force of that pilotchute. And THEN having the pilotchute make a 8 meter leap back into your burble. Defying 100 mph (or more) relative wind working against it.. That you've been part of it for this whole thread so it would be ironic for you to call it retarded? www.WingsuitPhotos.com -

Implying of course that the first two responses you received weren't polite... you have an odd definition of politeness. Does it include throwing insults at those who kindly try to provide you with info it seemed you were asking for? If you were standing right next to the aerial map of your DZ, and somebody walked up and asked you to describe the LZ, would you try to wing it from your memory, or would you turn around and point to the giant image on the wall? Would it seem odd to you if the same person then proceeded to call you rude, and other names? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Very nice... I'm trying to figure out how that camera works! www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Aero loads? Inertia? The former is too small to matter, I'd guess, and is only present if you're looking to your side. The latter should probably never be present unless you're in a weird (bad) situation/deployment. To the person who got cracks, I'm curious which strobo plate you were using, as I think that could have a lot to do with it. I have mine directly mounted to a CF plate I made, so it is flush and there's no give (like a foam spacer or anything) and I have never had any problems with it... Wes Rich does the same thing on all his CCM's (I copied his design) and I know plenty of pros who have never had an issue with it. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I have jumped with camera a 75-100 jumps before a friend of mine lost mine in free fall, but i dout i will be mixing the two for my first wingsuit jump Nor should you consider doing your first wingsuit jump anywhere near water, let alone into water, as I'm sure you know.

rsl/skyhook disconnect for camera jumps?

Seriously. Although, I know when I got into skydiving, I was having a really hard time deciding between eating some raw food and having virtual sex instead. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

This Monday, 1/26, there should be some short wingsuit video segments on the CBS talk show The Doctors. There is a short "trailer" for the episode up here. I haven't seen the show yet, but from the trailer I get the feeling it's going to be just "slightly" less objective and informative than, say, the recent History channel piece. I think this may be the first time in my life I've ever sat down with the intention of watching a talk show. Oh well, still worth watching I guess. I think the show airs 4PM EST or 3PM CST, check your local listings. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

The initial post was edited by the author 27 minutes after it was made. In those 27 minutes, 16 people replied (before the edit). Including the 7 to 8 you are calling dumbasses. It's pretty clear the post was not so easy to interpret before the edit was made. If paying attention isn't that hard, why didn't you notice this simple fact, documented clearly at the end of the first post? The drunk person didn't approve of the driver's drinking problem? Am I not "wholly" paying attention... or is it possible the vague wording of your sentence leaves two possible interpretations? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Even more interesting that taping it and showing it to millions makes it legal again. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
