  1. I bought an aviator used off the classifieds. It was almost perfectly new, if I didn't know it was used, I wouldn't have been able to tell. I think they are still < 200 $ new, though, and it's a pretty sweet helmet. Dual audible pockets, comfy and nice looking:) Angela.
  2. Thanks for your contribution, Brian:) As always, very helpful.! Thanks everyone for voting. Sorry I didn't put eyes/alti. But, I didn't think it had to be said. I did mean it that way. I figured that anyone using an alti was watching the ground or other reference objects, too. I wouldn't rely on alti alone, that would be scary and pretty stupid. When I gave the choice 'eyes', it was meant to mean that they didn't bother to check the alti before initiation. Not that they use their eyes and also check alti. That fell under using an alti. Sorry for the confusion. Angela
  3. Well, it doesn't matter because really all you can do is imagine. No one knows what they would have projected. Also, no one knows if having a dem in power would have made the situation better/worse altogether. Well, Kallend isn't running for president. That doesn't mean he can't see when things aren't going well. Hell, my physics lab instructor has got to be the worst teacher ever in the history of community college. But, just because I recognize this, doesn't mean i'd have a game plan to fix it. I couldn't teach a physics class to save my life. Understand that i'm not trying to start a fight here, but some of these replies/requests are not very reasonable. I am a democrat i'd suppose, although I do not bother to vote. So, whoever this argument favors, I really couldn't care less. I will say that I think that Bush is a blubbering idiot. And, no, that doesn't mean I could be the president, but I do know a moron when I see one Angela.
  4. I hadn't really thought about it much. I think it'd be alright if you were single and it was someone you thought was cool. But, I voted only my SO/bf without really thinking about it first. Everyone is different, though. Kisses mean different things to different people. I think that a kiss to greet someone is different than a kiss in freefall. It just seems more intimate to me. Angela.
  5. Of course. I don't want to get this thread off topic. I am just curious about who's using what. As i'm sure you're aware, I try not to post specifics about me or my progression on here because of past issues with people freaking out. But, as an fyi, I am getting excellent coaching from the best! Keep voting:) thx! Angela.
  6. SoBe is an awesome dz! You should come out and join us while you're down:) It isn't the closest, though, as it is past Clewiston going east. It is an awesome place to jump, tho! :D angela.
  7. Curious what most of the swoopers on here are using to judge when to start their dive. Digital? I am considering an alti-2 neptune. thx! Angela
  8. Awe, man.. good luck. That sux about your container. I have a tjn also and have no problem putting a 136 samurai in it... in fact, I can put a 150 stiletto in there, too. I have never had problems with deployment, maybe the pilot chute is old/weak? It is definitely difficult to get the 150 in there, tho. Hope you find one to jump! :) Angela.
  9. I voted 6-8 because I plan on hop n pops all day and they're cheaper. But, generally, I would only make 4-5 jumps in a day. :) Angela.
  10. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=895137;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread The last post in that thread. So, what you're saying is that the longer diving canopies are not so good for newer pilots because they will have to set up higher and deal with more traffic on the way down? I am not sure I understand exactly, please verify/correct my interpretation. thx. Angela.
  11. Yes, yes they did! And, i'm SO glad. Lime sucked! Now, if they'd just change that cough drop tasting cherry shit I could stop throwing those out, too! :D Angela.
  12. I just read in another thread that it is suggested for a new hp canopy pilot to have a canopy with a short recovery arc. Why is this? I understand that it pulls out of a dive quicker, and I see how this could be thought to be safer because if someone pulls too low, they can just drop the risers and come out of the dive sooner than they would on a canopy with a longer recovery arc. But, on canopies with shorter recovery arcs, in order to come out of a dive at a perfect point, you have to initiate your turn lower. And so, you're kinda playing with fire taking it lower and lower and having to be perfect every time, right? If you were on a canopy with a longer recovery arc, wouldn't this leave more room for error because you could err on the safe side and start your dive a little higher and your canopy would stay in a dive longer. Of course, you could still dig out if you need to, right? What am I missing? Why is a canopy with a short recovery arc better for newer pilots? I just didn't want to get the other thread off topic. Thanks. angela.
  13. Do you really put your whole hand in the dive loops? I hold my toggles with my hands, but only put two fingers in the dive loops. I didn't realize that some people used their whole hands. Is that at all a risk for losing a toggle when you remove your hand to flare? thx. Angela.
  14. Ari, it is amazing, but the tunnel actually was very helpful (though this pic was b4). I hope to get back up to the tunnel soon, I think it could be a great tool! Thanks again for meeting us up there:D Kelly, yeah, the lake is beautiful. It is so lovely to look upon under canopy, especially at sunset
  15. Here are a few fun pix of my super hot boyfriend and I Angela.
  16. I put extra altitude. Although, it is tough between that and fast craft. I am going with altitude because it gives me longer to work on my dive which is important to me because I need all the time I can get to practice up there since i'm not all that good. It sux when the dive is over and you just got to the other person... land, pack, try again:p Angela.
  17. bkdice wrote: Yes, but this : ... was not in the for of an opinion. It is a statement. For one, i'd like to know how he knows that "God" exists at all. I mean, he's sounds pretty positive, and he even knows that he's not Muslim (which, btw, makes no sense as another poster mentioned). He must've met the guy, afterall, seeing as though he's so certain that he exists. I think it was an ignorant statement. No one is sure there is a God. Many people probably THINK that they're sure there is/isn't a God, but how anyone could KNOW one way or another is beyond me. Angela.
  18. That's a shame, Jeffrey! :( Do you have a gear bag yet? it really helped me once I got a gear bag, the only thing i've lost since is my pack tool. I keep everything in the gear bag. Hey, man. . zippin my mouth here. Actually, I may not have to since it'll be stuffed with chili You rock! Angela.
  19. Whoa, that is just weird! It's so hot here in Fla I could go lay out sippin margaritas and listening to reggae on ft laud beach and not have any thoughts of snow. lol ! Angela.
  20. I am so glad I am buying a cypres this month. I should have it installed by March. That is scary shit! I have been telling myself for a while that I couldn't afford it, or I needed this and that first... but, really, the more I think about, the more unreasonable that sounds. Glad she's ok. yay cypres! Angela.
