Nooses, Burning Crosses, Swastikas and other such things are Aggression in my mind. These things go well beyond Free speech and/or Expression. Not to the same level as Mob Beatings, But they are a crime and should be prosecuted. It's a lot of work living in a "free" country. I would say that they should have limited themselves to doing this on their OWN property. At that point, no one can stop them from doing whatever they want. Some people have done this in the past, but it wasn't cheap. What I have always thought would be fun was a plane mounted camera that showed people exiting. Would be pretty cool for people on the ground to see their family members jump out and the skydiver wouldn't have to wear a bunch of extra crap. Like the others have said there is a lot of stuff that you don't really need to know to skydive. Most of it only comes into play when you want to start doing pretty advanced stuff or understand how to get a couple extra feet out of a swoop or something. A lot of the stuff people do know by instinct / experience and don't know that they are doing it or understand it and could never explain it to someone else. Not really a big deal.

I have a blurb about it on my resume, but it is as a sub-point to being in charge of finance for the dz. We are a large club and I got put on the board of directors and I think running a business is a worthy mention. Given that we are operating a turbine and a lot of business, not just a tiny cessna dz. The whole point of it is to have a general guideline for the performance of a canopy. It gives you a general idea of if you are in the right ballpark. It gives a general idea of how fast the canopy flies. In truth though, as someone has pointed out, there is a lot more that goes into understanding the performance of a canopy. Wingloading plays one part. Planform (i.e. The shape of the canopy) plays another part. The trim of the lines, meaning what angle the canopy is neutral flight at can determine how fast the canopy comes out of the sky. Also, the shorter the lines the faster the canopy will react. A smaller wing can also react much differently. Just cause it clicks doesn't mean it is right. It might even make a lot of sense to you and STILL be wrong. That is why this discussion keeps coming up on here. Well intentioned advice that sounds good but is wrong is very hard to distinguish from actual good advice. Especially when you are first starting out. That is why its best to work with the instructors at your own dz.
