I agree with the crazy three ring design being overkill. I could care less about fabric. Having seen a few rigs with the new magnetic riser covers I think it just works better than tuck tabs on the sport rigs, not necessary but nice. I buy vectors because I think that just the right amount of thought was put into its design. Not too much, not too little. I have come close to letting go cause of a count and then the TM changed their mind, because the tandem student managed to grab something, cause the TM never gave a count, cause the TM did the count verbally in the opposite side ear of the passenger (no fuckin idea why) and many other reasons. I have worked with a TI who doesn't give a count, "just watch for when I start to go" Really sucked the first time I jumped with him, on subsequent jumps I knew what to look for. Filming AFF is even more fun. I have watched students give a few counts before actually going. I have seen them give two different counts right after another. I even accidentally screwed a TI once cause I was in a hurry to make sure we fell through a hole and let go. Yeah I felt bad about that one. He hurried up out the door though and I did get the video (and we had plenty of cloud clearance)! That is because on an AFF jump you have to do things. You are responsible for yourself. A tandem is just a thrill ride, there is no investment in it. It's not like they ever stole anything from a dead skydivers family or screwed a customer over or broke any laws or stole pictures from people or committed acts of interstate commerce fraud or anything like that... hahah... well, at least allegedly. I'm not. ASC is sucking the life out of skydiving. The people who own ASC ruin the skydiving experience for hundreds to thousands of people every year. The owners will lie, cheat and steal to make a buck. Yeah, I hate them and thier worthless booking service. Dunno. I had the opportunity to buy either and went with the 15mm sigma. I guess part of that is because I think prime lenses take better pictures. I think it sticks out a little less and weighs a little less too. I also don't have to tape down a focal length. I can't accidentally jump with it at the wrong focal length. I just have to disgree. The shot attached is with a 15mm sigma. I should have been looking down a little more but that is my fault not the lens. I just can't find a picture where I was. I did around 550ish total jumps last year. I would say around 350 to 400 ish of them were fun jumps. The rest were tandem videos. School - specific... However, I noticed that when she was given the "one opportunity" EP pass or fail in the hanging harness that her thumb was not thru the reserve ripcord handle. I made a student do pushups in class last weekend for not doing that. Yeah, pet-peeve of mine, along with pulling handles out in front rather than down That is certainly a downside of the system they were using. The cutaway cables were real, and she pulled them straight out, and it would probably work if she did that for real, but damn,... pulling the reserve straight out is gonna be a bitch. I am a new AFFI, so bear that in mind... No fucking way. I don't want anything on my hands besides an altimeter. I think for the most part its a waste and its not your job. It isn't something that would ever even be allowed at my DZ. We use the same term here for our AFF students, Control your body in the air to stay in one spot not floating sinking, sliding or turning Yeah, we use the same term with our AFF students. It's just a short way to say falling straight down w/o moving. We always have to explain it more though. "Imagine yourself falling in an elevator shaft, you should be falling straight down the middle, not bumping into the sides." I'm trying to decide what to make tonight... This week I have made, chicken w/ an orange sauce over rice and Terryaki beef and mushrooms w/ garlic butter pasta. I am working on trying to make new things.
