hah After being penned up inside for the last 4-5 months of winter its getting close. Its starting to get on my nerves but it hasn't caught me completely yet. I am back to posting every day on DZ.com as I look forward to warm jumping weather

If it was bad enough that it seemed the plane was going to break apart and also not bad enough for me to be dead/passed out already I would put my gear on. what he said! per normal with skydivers everyone at the DZ is pretty cool

So much of avoiding speeding tickets is being aware while you are driving. All of the ones that I have gotten were times where I was not paying full attention to the raod in front of me and just blew past the squad car w/o even seeing it. The sheriffs by me are pretty good. They know how to catch people when they want but they target the out of state 'business men' from il. (im in wisconsin) A deputy that I know gave me some tips of how to avoide getting a ticket. I still think that the most important thing is to pay attention and not just speed w/o being aware of the fact that you are speeding. Radar detectors are nice but if you don't get one that is decent you will just be annoyed by it and never slow down when it goes off. My vehicle is black, has no front plate, and I drive with my headlights on pretty much all of the time. These were all things suggested to me to help in making it harder to hit me with a laser. Don't know if any of them are true, but anything that might help and is easy to do is worth trying. I think that the issue that is being brought up is that your opinion is percieved as advice. I am the first to admit that I don't have shit for jumps and the first and only thing I have ever posted in a thread like this was to go talk to your instructors. I know you have your opinion, I have one too, but that does not mean I should post it on here and risk getting someone hurt because they took my advice. I don't want that responsibility, when it comes to how much I have expereienced in skydiving its just a drop in the bucket, a very large bucket. I think everyone is free to post thier opinion, but it can become a problem if people percieve that opinion to be worth more than it really is. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. One other person in my family did a tandem. It took that to get them all out there. One or two more people might give it a try and that would get them out again, but they don't have much interest in seeing me jump as an experienced jumper. Put me on the Gonna try to be there, Hoping, Praying, and not planning that far ahead list. I will probally be down there to hang out even if I don't get to make many jumps. I think that the titles are just something funny to give some idea of who has been here how long and how active they are. I don't consider what the title says when a person posts advice, taking the post count from talkback away would just mean that people talk less and I enjoy reading all the conversation of all the different minds. If it is something serious I would think that most people consider the jumps that a person has. Btw I think that the concern about post count that gets brought up is about people who post a lot and think that means they know something about skydiving. They will still post a lot and still think the same way. (Talking about anyone that falsy thinks they know what they are talking about because they have lots of posts, not a personal attack, just generalizing) err, I'm sorry... My DZ has a min jump numbers before you can jump with no hard helmet. I had a nasty landing once still was using the DZs protecs (still am actually, helmets aren't cheap) and it made much nicer for me when my head hit the ground. My question is how many of you RW only people actually have done any successful freefly dives? But seriously, RW is for people who like to do fast tick-tack manuevers (not to say it is easy, bec. I am sure it is hard) and see "how many you can get in" before the buzzer. Freefly (except in certain instances) is more like " Hey, lets go out and have some fun and we will put a little plan together and if it doesnt work, fuck it, it was still cool as hell". I seem to see too many RW guys that get all hardcore and pissed off when they dont turn enough points. Hey, maybe it is just my experience but that attitude turned me off to the whole idea of doing RW. Plus, there are so many things about freeflying, like carving, that RW guys dont really ever get to do. I guess it basically comes down to freedom of flying around how you want to and not always worrying about being in the "perfect" position. At my Dz we have a mix of people that do either of the two. I have found that being a low numbers jumper myself that its fun to do both. I have been taking the attitude of, if someone is willing to jump with me I will do RW, if not I solo and work on sitting. One of the older jumpers at my Dz put it well when he explained to me that you can't just do one thing these days. It is too limiting on the fun that you can have skydiving. There are things that I don't like about RW though that I don't notice as much with the people who FF. Like stuffit said, all to often the people doing RW come down pissed about something that didn't work, an exit that funneled, etc. It seems that the FFers almost always come down in an awesome mood no matter how bad the jump went. It seems like the less technical feel that FF gives attracts a lot of people that are lower numbered because it is less likely that your going to fuck up the dive and piss someone off. I personally have recognized the need to know some of both for my personal goals.
