What I think you fail to realize is the difference in the population of gays vs other minority groups. It wouldn't be "Normal...." Anyway, do you think it is OK to marry your sister, or brother? Do you think it is OK to have 4 wives? 10 wives? or 10 Husbands? If so why? If not, Why not? All these things listed above are alternative lifestyles. If we allow one, a president will be set to allow others. No one says a gay couple can't live together and be happy. No one said John Doe can't have 10 girlfriends living with him and have big orgies everynight. No one said that. Wendy, There are plenty of threads on this already... However, i will give my brief opinion. It is a proven fact by psychologists that a family comprised of one man and one woman is the strogest and healthiest for child development. Divorce is a big concern because it breaks up the one man one woman relationship. There is no evidence gay marriages would end up in more or less of a divorce rate. Now, Gays make up roughly 1-2% of a natural population. Given that, a child raised in a gay household is (sad but true) a bad thing for the child to have to deal with. This child will be abused by his/her peers, and there is nothing you can do about it. Kids are kids, and they look for reasons to hurt eachother. It would not be an easy situation for any child, and it is nothing that will ever become "NORMAL" (having 2 gay parents that is). The children of Gay marriage parents will always be a very small minority of the public and will be teased bullied accused of being gay etc.... Not something easy for children to deal with. I think what Dave is saying is that: If and when the Kerry Camp sues, it will not sue in the counties or districts which are heavily favored in Kerry's direction. They will not look at the Voting practices of the entire state, but instead only in the counties or districts which they believe they can scrutinize through some loophole or some Liberal Judge. If you want to Sue in OH, great...what ever. But it has to be across the board. Kerry doesn't have a chance, however, of his suits working. The popular vote is not even close.... What i think is left out is how staged all these rallies are on both sides. On CNN the other day there was a black man talking about how used he felt at a Kerry rally. He was picked out of the crowd as well as a spanish person and a few other minorities. They were asked to stand up on the stage behind Kerry during the rally. Why? To show kerry is supportive of minorities.... Staged, all of these things are staged. So, when something is going to be aired on TV, do you want someone who is going to be "POTENTIALLY" disruptive? Chris, Are you honestly defending this action? To impose a new law, to be irresponsbile and inform no one, and then to enforce it with aggressive behavior? I am pointing blame at the lawmakers and enforcers in this instance. The burden of letting the community know about this law was on them. Where is your source?? I just need to know what countries we are talking about. My reasons would be this if we are talking about Europe and canada and such. Typically these nations are more socialistic than the USA. Kerry being one of the most Liberal Sen's in the US and being borderline Socialistic probably appeals to those nations. Bush meanwhile is more conservative and has more of a Me first the rest of the world later mentality. That being said...
