5 second delay, this is 366ft (111m) with a freefall speed of approx 84mph - do divers really do this sort of thing? b'jeayzus - if so thats a pretty hardcore sport! anyone got information on this?? i dont know shit about it!!

QuoteFor the MONEY Honey*** well yeah there is that!!! some DZ's dont give a shit about anything but!! but sitting around doing fuck all on a shitty weather day.......... you wanna learn to pack.......... you are never around after hours or waiting in the bad weather laughing and joking ........... who the fuck will want to teach you............ par for the course i think is being at the DZ on shit weather days............. this is the time to learn............ that was kinda my point............ ah well - 3 weeks into recovery and still fucking bored!!!
-
try learning in the UK! wind rain and cloud is our weather - if as a student you dont expect or accept going to the DZ every weekend and perhaps not jumping for months - then stay at home and take up computer games............... when i first started i did 19 jumps in 8 months and that was going to the DZ every weekend!! it sucked........... but you learn alot and get to know many many people........... if you dont take the time and effort then why whould people take the time and effort with you..................... just my 2 bored shitless pieces.........
-
amen! thanks to the people who extracted my sorry busted up arse recently from a non-legal site......... i still owe ya for that one! i think some medical training is a must for someone in your crew to have - you just never know what where or how something may or may not happen................ remember when it does it may not be at a legal site with people around and services and medics easily available - it will be in the middle of no where, surrounded by fencing, with no easy access or extraction and lack of lighting - it will be cold, dark and lonely.......... think about it.......

what do you want? sugar and jam on it???? you say you cant afford or its too far to drive??? fuck me man! I sold my skydiving gear and got into debt to pay for me to buy gear and a FJC in TF's - you know how far that is from the UK??? I spent approx £5000 (approx $9,000) in doing my FJC - so to say its too far to drive or you cant afford it is an easy way out - i risked alot in starting BASE jumping (which i did not even know was right for me) - if you want something that bad you make it happen, beg, borrow, steal, sell what ever it takes........... sorry no sympathy as its far easier for you to get it sorted than for others......... so shrug all you like - you wont get sympathy here! M

PM'd you

go do a manufactures FJC........ this shows some commitment go out and find objects instead of skydiving at the weekend..... this also shows some commitment.......

180s - Risers or Toggles on big canopy and small canopy
BASE813 replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in Archive
it also depends on your opening height.... i had a 180 on a 300ft guyed A and went for my risers - this lost me a lot of altitude due to my agressive turn and ended up taking a hard landing (nice scar on my arm to remind me!) i did this as i had around 20 jumps and i just had the OH SHIT reaction..... if you think about it when jumping an A you generally have a tailwind - this will slow your forward speed on a 180 so you have time - so then you can pull ya toggles and turn loosing less height - if you are jumping low objects and opening sub100 this would be preferable then loosing too much height turning using risers........ if you are opening high then the altitude lost using risers is not an issue..... be prepared to take some poundings and / or injury if you are opening very low and something does not go to plan..... off headings will happen when you really dont need them - leave yourself height to deal with them.... generally i use the rule - if you have time use toggles.... if you are bracing yourself for a strike then use what ever you can to get away from it......... just my small amount of bulshits worth! -
they are all low alittude parachute deployment experiements carried out by low altitude parachute deployment scientists............. a jump is a jump - if unsure and have to argue it run RimLickas 5 yr rule and if still unsure mark it as an O...... some to question: Concrete solid tower? Solid Antenna? large circular metal gasometre? tethered balloon? crane? you can argue and argue the differences - if wind blows around a solid antenna does that make it a building? nope not in my eyes............. which is why in the end they are all just low altitude parachute deployment experiments........... just have fun thats all that matters.............. fuck im bored!!

i started with 500 skydives, some CRW experience, practiced alot on 7-cells and the CR canopy drills, - even with this more experience would have been better - certainly more CRW / 7 cell experience. Alot of people took the piss when I stopped freeflying and did all my skydives from 6k on a fury - asking what the fuck i was doing - preparing for CRW was my response......... i also dont think you can put a number on when someone is ready - i went through trying to think if i was ready and then one day I just KNEW.............. some people maybe ready with 300 or some with 900 skydives no one will be able to tell you whether mentally you are ready.............

how true............. seems i thought i would breeze through the crutches......... but again something knocks ya down! its not nice and no one came to help me in a crowded shopping center..i felt like a beetle on its back! .......... if in a few days it still hurts like this then i will think something aint right......... i still think shock and tension has alot to do with the uncomfortable pain i have.......... hopefully! just another part of rehab i guess!!! peace to all recovering!

being up at 5am due to being in pain.... I get a phone call at 7:45am from the guy I was meant to be with today at the "terminal Italian wall" him: hey how are you me: yeah not bad mate - where are you? him: well im here with xxx and xxxxxx and 11 other people looking at a beautiful morning at the exit point of xxxxxx.... dude you would have been here...... me: ah shit man sounds very cool.... him: well you are not here but just let me tell you that I am just about to put on YOUR gear and get off.......... ........... then a phone call from xxx - i got a great pic of you..... sorry your gear in freefall from xxxxxx.......... just packing for another.......... ......... lesson learned: your friend may realine your foot, arrange your extraction, look after you, comfort you, carry you out of the landing area, when you bust yourself up.............. but be aware - they will also be the first person to rub your face in it at the first chance!!!! hehehe Nice one LT, G, my italian friend - and all the others at the exit - I could hear laughing whilst on the phone sat on my arse on the sofa!!!! Have fun and be safe................ MacSpack! sorry............. no point post but too much time on my hands and thinking about the trip i had arranged and booked that i lost out on................. bugger!

is it called balance?
-
.........one bad experience... i was walking today on crutches on a wet pavement (sidewalk) and my supporting crutch went from under me! - fuck! it hurts (i hope nothing has been damaged) and again it draws you back to how incapable you can be! - i felt totally alone and not in control.......... you go up and you go down........... take it easy people!
-
For skydiving, i lost the fear about 30 jumps but then got it back again around 100 jumps - this went again around 150 jumps (apparently this is quite common) and then I got cocky and self assured until about 300 jumps......... if you loose the fear you put yourself at risk - remember this sport can / will hurt / kill you......... dont get tooooo comfortable....
-
chains are broken! nice work!!! ...and who says BASE jumping is cheap way out! fuck man its costing me more than skydiving ever did!!!
-

Illegal - and its not much fun being extracted out of a contained area and to a hospital when you should not be there in the first place! ouch
-
perhaps have also why people got busted up? winds / crap canopy control / issues etc etc............... I voted O....... and its still fresh in my head!
-
dude............ the only way i see it is that this has to be bonus time - i mean life passes you so fast that it sucks - cause the days are dragging like fuck now - it just means that life has slowed abit - which in turn means life will last longer....... mmmm........ maybe I have had too much time alone bored to think!!! hope all is well dude - it will just make you stronger!
-
ditto! fuck knows what i opted for - after taking 2 hours to get out of the landing area (industrial enclosed area) and to the hospital (by car not by ambulance) they pumped me so full of stuff I did not know what the fuck was going on for a few days......... Nice thoughts! - loosing all dignity! from BASE jumper to special needs in a fraction of a second! - i knocked a whole bottle of piss over the floor from my bed - this moment is when I felt like special needs kid! hehehe! thats some funny shit! i cant even stand without discomfort never mind go hammer and tongs!! ah the joys of the hand!! hehe
-
that would be a bitch of a day getting out of hospital man!! cracked me up............
-
hehe! - I guess he knows I am dying to get back walking again!! yeah man that morphine stuff! jesus i had no idea what was dreams and what was reality!
