although Norway can have a DZ feel about it with the amount of jumpers there and the fact you have to give some money over for registration etc - dont let this mislead you into thinking it a bad thing - the stavanger BASE Klubb do good things, and without them Norway would be so much more a hassle - I bet you will be glad of them if you happen to get hung up off one off the cliffs hey! its not a lot of money to pay - and althought I am so anti "legal big group BASE" ( for personal reasons) I still went to Norway and paid my money and was thankful for what they did for me.................. I am certainly not a big boogie jumper type of person - but I did not bitch about the money I paid for me to jump the beautiful cliffs of Norway.............

hey dude! just spoken to my surgeon and he has decided to wait an additional 8 weeks to make a decision on my bone graft op.......... i will still go into surgery for removal of 1 of my pins.....sort of good news in that i dont have to go through that pain of bone graft (sorry dude I know you still have to! - my thoughts with ya on that one!!) - but bad news that this is another 8 weeks without weight baring!!! not sure what is better hey!!! bugger!!! again building up / knocking down ........... its a roller coaster ride my friend!

.... one thing i have a problem with is that when i open email from a MSN messenger alert it automatically opens it in IE - my default browser is Mozilla but I am unsure how to change this...... also when first booting up and starting MSN messenger it says cant connect as IE is set to off line....... i fire up IE and its fine and then signing in on MSN is not a problem.......... hmmmmmmmm........

I have recently changed to Mozilla to see how is fares against IE - I have to admit I like it in my initial browsing - (no pop ups, tab browsing) - just wondered who else is using mozilla and what you found in likes / dislikes compared to IE............ Cheers Michael

My injury was done on a BASE jump, I had decided not to post details of how and why it happened but if someone really wants to know I will PM it to them. Basically most injurys come down to "I fucked up" be safe out there - in a blink of an eye you can be on a long road you dont want to be on!! Hell yeah! the only thing you can end up talking about is your injury and X-rays cause for a long long time its the only thing going on!!! it sucks hey!!! but saying that I have met some cool people around the world also mending so its not all bad!!

Ryan Air truely suck shit............. dont even try and argue as all you get is a robot repeating the same line over and over again........ I took my BASE rig as hand luggage and had no problems, but we had problems with the camera equipement and some batteries! Expect to always get stung for excess baggage! .......... do you remember the disabled guy who was changed for a wheelchair at departure and then arrivals to get to and from the aircraft! fucking outrageous!

one thing I have found out since being injured is that although I realise injuries happen I could not beleive just how often they happen! Also a fucked up situation is that a further 3 of my friends (friends = people I jump with and spend social time with) all bust themselves up. Thats 4 of us bust up all within a 6 week stint! Fucking crazy! Bad juju! the reaper is out there this summer....Be safe out there.............. recovery time is long, boring, frustrating and painful.......

BASE813: Shattered Fib, Broken Tib, ligament damage (weber C type dislocated fracture): accident 14/05/04, expect bone graft op and further hardware op mid-july - expecting 1 year out (BASE) but too early to say.

mmmm I have got a similar problem with a ringtone pop up - i have tried all the ad-ware etc and have resorted to a pop-up blocker to stop it (but this is just cosmetic as its still in the background) - I know nothing about the registry - any tips on what to do to kill this fucker? cheers M

then perhaps have a seperate area for number of years in BASE? as someone else said there are people with perhaps a deemed low number of BASE jumps but many years in it and this reflects in their knowledge................ again just me thowing up ideas...........

having had my friend recently "fuck up" on a canopy bigger than he normally swoops, having lots of experience, being a very cautious canopy pilot / swooper, being very strong and fit, being someone that no one thought would get hurt, being better than the people that downsize way too quickly - then I have to say your post hits the nail on the head!!! If it can happen to my friend then I truely beleive it can happen to anyone............ the only thing here is that your less likely to fuck up with more experience - but the only difference in when it happens is what people say about you - either "fuck i never thought that would happen to him" or "well what did you expect" please be the first............... dont let your friends visit you in hospital...... yeah man as I mentioned it probably does cover everything - but with a dual skydiving and BASE site I think the numbers mean less than the skydiving numbers thats all. Also with the multi national community then in the states I think with the use of the legal span to pad out jump numbers Im not sure if the use of BASE jump numbers is of that much use.................... just throwing some other thought into it........... mainly coz im bored shitless hey!!!

hey - trouble is with high impact you do both your bones and ligaments! and yeah hurts like hell doing it and hurts like hell getting better!! back to hospital today for Xrays to see if everything is ok for surgery in 3 weeks and if im getting bone growth in my "missing part" of fib............. ah the joys of getting out the house!!! Quick recovery to all those others who are injured!! (especially the dual leg injury people!!!)

Im in hospital today for X-rays to see if everything is ok for surgery and to see if im getting bone growth in my "missing" bit of fib! was a strange weekend mate with 2 of my friends ending up in hospital too - 1 from skydiving with left femur and right foot and 1 from BASE with both ankles!! somehow doing one leg does not seem so bad hey!!! Good luck for your surgery man!! be cool and enjoy the "trip"!!

the trouble is with this as I see it - experience in BASE I would say is not alone jump numbers - if someone may have 1000 jumps from the legal span or you may have someone with 200 jumps from 50+ various objects - if I was taking advice from someone I would prefer to take it from the 200 jump number guy! I know generally this is an extreme example - but surely if you want seperate jump numbers for BASE then also you would also require Object numbers to see someones true experience??? - I dont always take peoples BASE jump numbers as a guage of experience..... I prefer to know what type of jumping they have done............ but I guess that someone with xxx number of jumps generally has many objects - but this certainly is not the rule........ just my thought...........

To be honest I find your tone unpleasant alot of the time - but as I dont know you I dont make assumptions on how or what you are saying............. I think what Faber is saying (correct me if im wrong faber) is that why would someone think that rubber banding the bridle is ok to do when they jump - this would be seen as a fundamental error and not one expected from someone that is going out making jumps.............. At the moment there are lots of people getting into BASE and the access is very easy - but does this also mean that the knowledge of people getting into it is dangerously lacking? Dont be hard on the Dane - its just his way of showing concern about your safety!........ what exactly do you want? sugar coated cotton wool wrapped advice? Dont be so senstive......... If I say something stupid I would expect to get shit for it........ but I dont take it personally......... chill winston!
