I worked with a guy whos friends were into "graf" - and the planning and tools they used to get "pieces" done was quite impressive. He spoke of them using night vision goggles and lock picking techniques to gain entry into compounds to spray up areas hard to get to normally. They tried not to break into anything and leave no trace apart from the hugh colourful art they left - he also said that the people doing it were from all walks of life; IT consultants, laywers, butchers, unemployed - they were all serious about their art form............ its funny I would say there are aspects quite comparable............

The UK BASE Board and server has been hacked! - Well I should say some dirty little script kiddie has messed up the server and locked out the admin by changing the passwords................. The admin are on the case, but not sure how long it will be for it all to be updated and back and running - and not sure if there will be a loss of data...... Mutha Fu(kers

I have to agree here. I had a dagger266 and was jumping it down to around 210ft. The inflation problems I had with this meant I was getting pounded in quite alot from the lower freefalls (much to Fabers amusement once!). I had some pretty shitty off headings on some low jumps and the response to input with this lack of speedy inflation was sometimes a little hairy............... I went out and bought something else (troll MDV) and after jumping that never wanted to take my dagger below 300ft again.

B's? I would not suggest that at all.

mate, I have just downloaded this and was speaking to a belgium jumper online - it fucking rocks! I think it very cool! Surprised not more people are using this for international conversations - its better than my fucking phone bill at the moment! I have not looked into the "calling phones" cost - is it any cheaper? worthwhile? etc? cheers Michael MSN: Michael_mac266@hotmail.com Skype: Mac813

there is a climbing method: I was with 904 looking at a stack that had a ladder up it about 20ft from the floor. He threw up some sort of plumb line thing up to get a rope around, and down the ladder, and then with a climbing harness and the attached rope made some wierd knot thing where he could actually pull himself up. I am sure a climber person could explain this much better than my non-climber description. Was cool though!

http://www.basejumper.org/cgi-bin/ikonboard/ikonboard.cgi?s=4157fb322ee4ffff;act=ST;f=1;t=392 I mentioned sometime ago about trying to sort out another get together of jumpers and have a few beers and show off some video of the past years jumps. A few people showed interest, so I hope this could be something we could pull together, get people putting faces to names and also have it open to newbies (new jumpers & people looking to start jumping) who want to meet up with jumpers. I have spoken to the manager of Belushis in Candem High Street (thanks Tony S for the tip last year) - and this venue sounds a pretty cool place to hold it. There is a big arsed screen we can use until about 10pm with seating laid out, they are open to 2am to continue sinking a few cold ones, they can serve us food until 9 (but may keep the kitchens open for us to 10 if there is a good number), and there is a back packers hostel above it for those that travel from out of London and cant get a place to crash down. I can find out other hotels / B&B's if you fancy a bit more comfort! I suggest that some date late November / Early December would be ok, so if people can make suggestions of the Saturday night that they could pencil in for it that would be cool. An idea of numbers would be ideal. I will start the bidding at 4th December from 6pm. So the cat herding begins! - any suggestions / ideas would be appreciated. Cheers Michael PS) if you could also email jumpers who may not read the boards who maybe interested that would be cool.

I hate that my injury is giving skydiving a bad name...
BASE813 replied to Jeth's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
dont explain it then. simple. I have been on crutches now for 22 weeks, and at first I would say "parachuting" when asked how I bust my leg up, then I learnt it is easier to say "football" - first they dont say "your own fault then" and secondly they understand why people play football. Rather than get into a long discussion on how I am a stupid twat for "parachuting" (i did this injury on a BASE jump) - I get a quick nod and "you will be kicking a ball soon enough". I know its a sad state of affairs but there is no reason to try and tell a non-jumper anything else. It has taken me 6 years and an injury to realise it, but generally its easier not to tell people I meet that I parachute - especially people I work with. I am getting problems at work due to busting myself up and (so far) having 5 months off work. When I respond that 1 person had time off for breaking their wrist whislt pissed, or 1 person who fractured his neck whilst mountain biking, or 1 person popped his knee playing golf - the response i get from my director is "what you do is different" - unfair, but the way the world is im affraid............. Injury sucks - recover fast............. -
nice! - I had the docs called out late night on my first visit in hospital due to suspected Compartment syndrome - I did not really understand what it was all about until I see Z and your pics on it - jesus man - i had a lucky escape in that area! hey at least with skydiving / BASE there are more people with scars than not!
-
Nice work! sounds like the sort of injury to hurt a bit hay! - but gives me the chance to say "nice arse" without offending you! :p On crutches since Aug 10th - you lucky duck! I have been non weight baring and on crutches for 22 weeks - I have to say I still cant manage to dance on them quite yet! Recover quickly!
-
Are you able to put some weight on your foot yet, B? It still looks pretty freakin' swollen after 4 months. I made my first skydive of 2004 last week - A hop&pop from 3500 in the rain - It wasn't much but it was still pretty sweet
-
love ya work! Nice!
-
no not the ink ones, the surgery ones......... I have recently gained 3 nice BASE tattoos (2 on my leg and one on my hip) with the attached one as being the biggest.......... Yeah I know, "look at my scars" post - but hey gimme a break - I am still at home after 5 months so far and getting bored! Go on humour me.............. Where is that guy with the scars from the compartment syndrome op? - now that IS a scar!
-
yeah mate i moved it, sorry......... The reason I moved it is as I thought people may think i was slagging off the BASE numbers - but i was not. What I was trying to say was that although its cool to get a number, once you have it it actually means nothing to you as you realise you have no reason to have it at that point of time. It attaches you to the history - but thats all. I only wanted to post this again to explain your post to me. BASE numbers are cool - but its strange that once you have one........... mate I love you as Faber - your not 850 to me, you are Faber!!! And Faber does his own thing and his own shit - he dont need to be 850 to do it!! sorry to delete posts..................
-
this is always forgotten...................
-
[uk humour] maybe lost on the WWW. [/uk humour] I read this and thought it just a way to say "love ya work" ah the joys of internet text! understood by some and misunderstood by thousands............... Hey Ivan as a suggestion, I have stopped posting to DZ whislt drunk as I end up getting my posts deleted by Mr A........... lucky for me that most of them are really bad!! is this thread on its way to bonfire?
-
it was banned as during the slave time people "picked out the nits"................... thus nit picking is wrong! fucking hell!
-
then did not skydiving evolve from BASE?
-
USA v UK...................... i always thought US were worse...................
