  1. I have just found out that Russell is no longer manager at this venue and that the new manager who started Friday did not know anything about this! Fucking hell! After some chat with the new manager he has still agreed the time and place, with use of the video screen and sectioned off area, and he is going to do 10% off drinks for us from 5pm to 10pm and an offer on some food dishes during this time too. If you have arranged a bed there then I would call and check on it......... His assistant manager is due to call me tonight or tomorrow morning to confirm all the details. Thought it was all too easy.......... See ya there!
  2. must have been done by one of those infinite monkeys with infinite amount of time of their hands.............. still waiting for that first publication, well on the way to doing the complete works of shakespear...........
  3. there have been several TV programmes recently about the amount of credit cards / bank details / passports etc that are being ripped off through the postal service - its quite a big business by all accounts. Good luck, and lets hope no one is using it to take over your identity!
  4. also do a search on the forum for "avatar" and there is a URL someone posted that will reduce pictures to varying sizes..........
  5. hey! Im not banned anymore! I apologise to those that I pissed off........... but the UK board is now getting active again! sorry I had a bad day when I got banned......... no hard feelings I hope?????
  6. i set this too ............ and it made no difference...............
  7. I think jumping your canopy the way you would pack it normally in a BASE rig will help you alot in "opening characteristics" - using a DBag to me goes against any deployment research. When I go back to skydiving I want to be able to jump my canopy in a configuration that is close to me jumping my pack jobs in the BASE environment. I think that the skydive environment is an ideal place to test out new configurations with your slider up pack jobs............ especially if you are going out and CRW'ing with people. To say jumping without a DBag wont teach you much is misleading.............. people dont just skydive their canopy to learn flight characterisitics............ you can learn more than that.............
  8. no mate, not once has she called out "Faber" - I am still trying to decide what she means when she shouts out "850, 850" hell man, I dont do the animals like that! anyway if I remember right, jake spent the night in your room and walked out in the morning looking a little tired! what the fuck happened there!!! cant wait to see ya again - last time was way too short - only one night of the crazy sub200ft Dane! - but this time it wont be Marce cooking, it will be me - as i have some pay back to make after 28 weeks of being an injury boy! man its not a question of money - its a question of ankle movement! - Fuck I want to get back to jumping so so so so much!!! lets hope you get here in December for the UK meet!!!!
  9. hey! sorry for the agression! sorry to take it out on you! I know sometimes you have to play the game to get a "fair" deal - and in the mean time people are fucked over - in the world people are fucked over! sorry to vent spleen on you. anyway, in addition, I have spoken to another partner of the legal firm I am using about the deal I am offered, and the way my company responded to my application for more money - and he has turned round and said "to be honest fuck them, they are in the wrong, it does not matter how you got injured and what you do in your private life, they are in the wrong" - I like his attitude. It does not matter about getting money now ( I am lucky enough to have a GF who agrees with standing the ground) - in the end my company are wrong to sack me because of my injury and my hobby. I would like to think its better to argue this over just accepting it. As my FD / MD said "what you do is different" - but is that any reason to be treated differently?
  10. I was about to return to work (as I was willing to go back even though I was still on crutches and not 100%) on a Friday, and on the Wednesday (when I was getting ready to go to my friends funeral) my FD and MD came to my house telling me they dont want me back. only after my injury and about 5 months into my recovery. I was on sick pay for 3 months (£250 per month) before I was ready to return to work (I really fucked my leg up!!!!) , when I told my company I was ready, that is when the got rid of me. fucking bulshit!!!! - re-read what I have posted and what I posted before - I was willing to go back to work, and I was doing work from home during my recovery - the company changed their mind as soon as I said "I am going to jump again" - maybe I should have lied to them, but being close (or used to be) to my FD I thought being honest is something friends do. - Dont you FUCKING DARE TO SAY ITS MY FAULT! if you want to know more details then PM me, but I bet you have the wrong end of the stick here - I am certainly not at fault, and I certainly had no control over loosing my job! Dont fucking give me shit when you dont know shit about it! I thank you Michael
  11. thanks for the reply. the situation at the moment is: 1) my employer (and the whole company from bottom to top) was aware I was jumping Buildings and antennas in a "non legal manner" for 2.5 years without any come back or problems except the occasional "you are mad" 2) On returning to work for 2 days during my recovery and waiting for my bone graft I was asked "are you going to jump again" and I was told on my response "well we dont want to employ you then" - and that my activity is "different" and not the same as skiing or moutain biking. 3) I was offered in the compromise agreement £4,000 - which is above a general redundancy pay 4) My solicitor states that due to the fact I injured myself in an "unlawful act" my company could argue "gross misconduct" - my only retort to this is that they were aware of my activities for a couple of years before this incident. 5) I have in my current offered compromise agreement the pay off of £4000, my private health care until July05 for my leg, and my company car until Jan05. 6) I have been advised that if I was to take this to court for unfair dismis, then I would only be able to get aprox 7K (as its not a profit making claim) and it will take almost a year to do this with legal expenses toward £1.5k 7) bascially I could take the offer and swallow the principle or take it further and end up with a net value of less than I am currently offered perhaps. My whole thought, is how dare they tell me that my injury is something they can sack me for - although I agree with skreamer and say fuck principle and take the money - I also think how fucking dare they tell me what I can and cant do in my private life and dictate what is acceptable for a hobby................. I am still waiting to speaking to my solicitor about this current offer............... all i can say is mutha fuckers make me angry and have cost me £700 in legal fees already!
  12. I am in the process of discussion with a compromise agreement due to my injury through BASE - and having my solicitor make an offer my company has come back with "our offer is a reasonable one as you were the author of your own misfortune" This has annoyed me slightly and would like to get a second opinion on what my standing is. My current solicitor has said that due to the fact I had made unlawful entry to an object and got injured from this act, my company could call "gross misconduct" - but my feeling is that they have been aware of my activities for 2.5 yrs and to then turn and say its Gross misconduct is not lawful. Also after returning to work before my bone graft I was told that if I continue jumping then I would not have a job - surely this is all in my favour rather than theirs?????? Hey MrMk2????? I dont remember your user name! - I could do with some contacts or help here! Mutha fuckers! Its now not about the money its about the principle!
  13. being a UKer, and a towney (no I am not a chav) and being someone who smokes when they go out for a beer - I think the ban is a good thing............ even as a smoker!

    Bio

was nice to see this..................... At first I thought it rather lame and a little too skydiving! , but in the end I agree, its cool to read about other jumpers and have more details to names! One day faces to names would be better! Nice one fellas!
  19. Well I will stick my neck out here and say I dont know why! I have seen the way you portray yourself on these boards from when you started BASEing to now and I have to say, I think you are a fucking clown. I would never want to meet you or jump with you. You represent all that I dislike in BASE, you have no fucking idea and need to take a check of yourself............ yeah I know I have never met you and I have never jumped with you - so maybe you need to change the way you appear on the forums as when someone like me in the UK thinks so badly of you, you must have to question why that is so. step back bro............... wonder why you get this shit!
  20. After an entertaining thread, it got me to thinking about the reasons such politics and bad feeling occurs. If you step back a moment and look at the issues then I feel they come down to a simple explaination - respect. If you enter BASE having spent many years trying to enter the sport, having people make it difficult for you, having to put in the time to get the skills, having to then go out and find and scope your own objects without being taken to them (how many people can say that their first 5 or 10 or 20 objects have all been done without guidence?), having spent years learning and spent years trying to break into the community that is local to you, then I think your grounding into the sport is solid and you end up respecting every aspect and having quite a good grounding in ethics. If you enter BASE having spent a year or 2 getting a bunch of skydives, paying some money for a FJC or even having some yahoo with less than 'x' number of jumps take you to the local tower, and you find yourself making a bunch of jumps without spending years of struggle or research to get to that point - then what respect can you be expected to have? As this way grows and grows, you will find more and more people coming through that find their access into BASE as easy as it was doing their AFF, this is not breading the right attitude toward the sport in my opinion. These people that day blaze an object, when was the last time you spent hours in an aircon system or basement of a building trying to find a way to the roof? when was the last time you spent hours alone in the car watching what sort of activity happens on what day of the week at the object? - in fact when was the last time you put ANY effort in yourselves to open an object? These people who teach AFF students or teach people with fuck all canopy skills or teach people without any knowledge at all to get into jumping - how did you get into the sport? did you do your time and effort or did you have an easy ride too? It makes me angry to see this yahoo mentality enter the sport easily as I feel I did my time (and yes I admit I did some really stupid shit in my early jumping days) - but I feel I am a well rounded and ethical jumper - more intuned about how BASE was, and how it should be. Having fucked myself up this year and seen 2 good friends die this year - it pisses me off that people are obviously not taking this sport seriously and think its just like skydiving. Take a check of yourself.............. dont bitch, dont fight - just step back and have a look. Apology, rant over.................. Be cool. Michael
  21. in my opinion, both these need moving to suit the individual jumper. I get a rigger to move my brake settings and I move my toggle settings.
  22. mate, I have posted on all the forums, and I keep missing your calls from a "withheld number" - so I cant call back! phuqking hell man - SMS / eMail me your new numbers!!!
