    Vented PC's

I was wondering that - surely this is the sort of thing you should know about before you start huckin your carcass off stuff relying on equipment being made correctly? or am I being too harsh?

  3. no one can tell you when you will feel 100% ready to jump on it again. I am into month 8 after injury (shattered tib, fib, severe dislocation of ankle, 3 operations including bone graft, 15 screws and pins and 6" thick plate) and still am unable to jump - I was non weight baring for over 6 months and am doing PT and gym work most days. Dont rush and do ALOT of work on yourself........... One day you will know when you are ready - dont set unrealistic goals.
  4. around $7,000 but that was all on ourselves (my GF and me) - including a trip to Florida & a brand new PC330 With the Dollar so weak we had a fucking blast in FL! God you guys must hate coming to the UK at the moment!
  5. [url]http://stevegarfield.blogs.com/stevegarfield/2004/03/smithwicks_ale_.html[url] there are some places named on this site.......... try and google it and you will find other sites with a mention of places where to find it or buy it.

    THANKS AVERY!!

yeah nice one avery! just got back from the states and mine was waiting for me on my door mat! thanks dude! appreciate it!
  7. nice one mate................... love ya work! fuck me!
  8. for future reference - Belushis in Camdem were cool with food and drink discounts and letting us use the big screen for the BASE jumpers meet - give them a call - they maybe worth speaking too if this is a regular thing you are doing.................. just a thought
  9. Lucky? Did you read the following : This guy got into a bad situation but then worked his ass off to get out of it. To call that 'lucky' is insulting. A lot of your one line posts are inane, but this one was simply ridiculous. I don't see luck having anything to do with this situation (maybe the guy in question thinks bad luck gave him the off-heading, or maybe it was a dropped shoulder or wind). Will at the beginning of the year I watched my friend have a 180 on a pretty hardcore UK cliff (my jump was perfect if your interested!! hehehehehehhehehe) - although cheesey his dealing with it and bumping off the cliff face all the way down from 300ft to landing was far from "lucky" - it was only his skills, and his canopy, and his being switched on throughout the whole "horrible" affair that meant he landed and stood up and went "fuck, i should not be standing" in my eyes, skill and canopy type has a lot to do with whether you walk away from such an incident or you friends call the emergency services - sorry I have to agree with Will here, its nothing to do with luck (although sometimes it adds to advantage) and everything to do with skill and the type of equipment you are jumping............
  10. why does everyone assume that we have not found this way before it got into the news...........?? most of us are very much aware of most high construction works within our local range way before the first bricks are laid..............
  11. agree with that - it only takes a bit of work and research on the net to find many great things to jump in places you are looking to. the joys of the net!
  12. do you remember the jump from the span in europe in the snow? ......actually bad reference........ , but funny non the less............. a good few of the spans out there are "live" roads........... including the one where 621 and myself got hurt a little!
  13. so if I post links to all the objects I know have references on the net you will be happy? I would say there are links to most objects - does not mean they should be posted?
  14. well thats very true....................... just messin with him.............. i find it amusing that people only think that objects are found when they hit the news........... rather than people putting in a shed load of research keeping an eye on new constructions!
  15. actually not the first.................
  16. As with others, a few years back (I had about 400 skydives at the time) I found myself sub-1000 in freefall - my first and only automatic reaction was to deploy my main - just as a pitched my PC my cypress fired and I ended up with two out. Although you may say "i will go for reserve" - your instinct kicks in to do the 1 thing that you have done hundreds of times before to save your life - pitch your PC...............

    BASE In Germany

http://www.base-jump.de/ the germans have plenty going on............
  18. Fair point, I've never jumped anything else so no basis for comparison. I wonder what difference each individual's terminal velocity makes? I'm pretty floaty in a track. Gus nice work mate!
  19. hey gus................. glad you had fun out there............... I just PM'd Tom A about it too, but what PC, direct / indirect contol did you use? I only ask as Lord T used my MDV on Italy and switz (both WS and normal FF) and he said he had "hard openings" as opposed to using his non-vented troll. (if you know Lord T you will know he is a big strong lad that does not moan about a supposed hard opening)
  20. What if this is their dream? Don't take away someone's hopes...it may be all they have. Just because it is not right for you does not mean that it is not right for someone else. Not bashing here, just wanted to put it in a different perspective for ya.

sent email and sent PM...................... contact me
  22. are you mad? there is more to life than parachuting............. sometimes in your life you will feel that nothing else matters other than parachuting.......... but you also will find other things in your life that matter more sometime down the road.................. find another way to realise you dreams....
  23. Ouch. Really? I wonder if you could use an oversized hook knife to cut a rope? yep! I would rather get caught jumping a highly senstive object during high security alert (hey boys!!! hehehehe ) then get caught walking in the street with a simple fruit knife or cheese knife...........
  24. maybe this is the guy BASE62? - who has 1000 jumps, where 800 or 900 are from the span???
  25. brake settings are more geared toward whether slider up or slider down due to the distance the control lines travel slider down (Line release mod) compared to slider up - rather than the actual object being jumped.............. there are instances of people jumping slider down with the shallow break setting on lower opening jumps due to the canopy flight and opening height............
