from exit to PC release... otherwise SL jumps would have a delay would they not if they were judged on exit to canopy extraction? for stowed: when you release the PC from your hand (not reach for it) for HH: when it leaves your hand I would always think that the delay is something you do and have complete control over (you delay and no one else), once you stop having control over that aspect (ie throwing / pitching your PC) your intentional delay is over and the dice are now rolling.....

I PM'd Tom with that same request... not a great title to read as you log on for new threads...

How many Non-USers take up your course?
-
Being from the UK I assume you mean the one on the UK board at the moment? http://www.basejumper.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=184 If you think the responses and reactions are childish, then please post this thought on the UK board. Jumpers do get upset for a reason, its not childish, it is a reasonable arguement - please see my post on the UK board that trys to explain...

Are you really that surprised on the reaction of putting stickers on exit points???????????? if so, fuck / bugger / shit / cunt , we have no chance............
-
one simple question: why do you feel the need to put a sticker up on the exit point of an object you jump like a skydiver does in the aircraft they jump? seriously though, why? what are you trying to achieve? what goes through your mind as you place that sticker on the rail? I call troll............. this is nuts

just curious, from all the PM's and eMails from people, I am questioning whether this spanish course is actually as "decent" as people are thinking.... I WILL put my neck out here and say that from all the PM's and eMails I have had, this course is not as tight and worthwhile as people are thinking.... I WILL stick my neck out and say that the people that attended this course are NOT worthwhile jumping in their own country after the course - so why do you think the FJC is worthwhile..... you guys may be experienced, but you have just released some inexperienced people on our country without a blink of an eye.... that to me is disrespectful... pas I would love to hear your thoughts about releasing someone like this back on our own soil.... I sit back and await the flack.... I do admit I am a cunt sometimes

you obviously only spent 2 weeks trying to access it then.... thats dedication.......
-
post on the UK board.... thats the best place to make UK friends...........
-
Not that lazy you take time to shout a YEEHAA to say you have jumped though!
-
its so easy to unleash the fury onto the community with a few quid and a few jumps….. so tell me, why are your non jumping friends emailing / PMing all of us UK jumpers trying to get you contacts and friends rather than you? Also, I would to like to hear your report of your FJC, I want to know why it was so good... seriously...

previous post on same subject.... http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1079722 ... maybe you have a 310 on your back? but kidding aside, I know of a good few people (myself included) who have used a 42 down to the 200ishft mark (dependant on other factors like closure method / canopy size / how the head felt etc), if you do a, search on DeeZee and BLiNC, you should find some good responses, as this has had some good and thoughtful discussions before.

With out more info no one will be able to advise you on size of canopy.:-) your weight, jumping environment?

Let me add to that: Next time you get the calling, the experienced BASE jumpers in your area will know that you're not just some yahoo (that's roughly yank-speak for "wanker") out to kill himself. Which means that if BASE ever does come back to you, you'll have a much easier time finding help. for sure....
-
Respect! making the effort, trying it out, deciding its not you.... fucking cool next time your hear at the DZ "I wanna / I will / I wanna" you can be smug in the fact you know about them "you have no idea and probably wont"... Nice work, next time you get the calling, at least you will know...

"You are crazy BASE jumping" "Have you ever driven down the motorway without a seatbelt?" "Yeah but, no but, yeah but...." This question goes back to the old perceived risk v accepted risk argument that I am sure lots of us have had. I for one will always wear a seatbelt, because I am aware of the dangers if I don’t, saying that I will also drive at 130mph in certain situations, but I am totally aware of how dangerous this is. Most “general population” people are not aware of the risks of certain things they do day in day out, everyone has an accepted risk level, but most have a warped perceived risk level. If everyone on the motorway driving at 100mph plus were totally aware of the risk they are taking I truly think this would be outside their own accepted risk levels. One thing BASE jumpers (or I should say most BASE jumpers as there are more and more that don’t nowadays) have is a total balance of perceived risk and acceptable risk. When I first started BASE my auntie turned to me before she stopped talking to me for a year and said “look at your two young cousins (aged 7 and 4 at the time) how will you feel with them attending your funeral”, my response was “you travel with them in the car at over 100mph, how do you think I will feel going to all your funerals”, this actually made the light bulb switch on with several members of my family… BASE jumpers are the most sensible people I have ever met, it’s the rest of society that is fucking nuts and are risking their lives without even being aware of it…

As others have said, relax... I had a problem during my SL jumps (did 20 in all) then did AFF and had a problem with those, trying to achieve so much and arch like a bastard made me stiff and I kept spinning, so much so that my instructor was getting ready to bin me. I went into one jump thinking it was my last ever and because I was not trying to achieve anything personally and just wanted to look at the view one last time I ended up on heading stable... The light bulb went on, I just had to relax and enjoy the ride... some people find it easy, others dont, just relax and enjoy the ride and it will be a piece of cake... your first taste of freefall will stay with you for ever...
