Skydivers & Bipolar/Manic Depressive Disorder
GravityGirl replied to RkyMtnHigh's topic in The Bonfire
Notice I didn't say Manic Depressive. That is so depressing. Manic just means extreme ups and downs. Speaking of up. I really could use a ride to altitude to adjust my attitude! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! -
Anyone want to see the true nature of our enemies?
GravityGirl replied to skycop's topic in Speakers Corner
With the amount of hate that you harbor Jeff, it seems that you are the one on a self-destructive path. I hope that you are able to breath long enough one day to realize that we ARE all on the same side. Without the Yin Yang of our society, we would be so off balance that we would indeed self-destruct. That is the beauty of democracy. Allowing both sides to flourish ensures a balance within our society. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! -
You are beating the crap out of Roy, and he likes it? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Why do you guys always segregate yourselves? And why do you speak of your fellow Americans with slanderous words? I don't get your hostility with the "F"ing liberals. Saying it with the same amount of hate as you address the Taliban for goodness sake. My brother went to fight in the first in the first Gulf War. His son has just returned home from his second tour in Iraq where they kept trying to kill him. My father and mother both served our country as did my grandparents. My family is as Pro-America as it gets, and lives very much in the forefront of "Reality". We are not watchers. We are doers. I have always been more liberal than most of my siblings, but there has never been any name calling between us. We offer each other respect in our differences. I don't understand why that cannot happen here. This forum harbors so much anger from both sides. I guess no one realizes that we are all on the same side. We are just different players in the game. Chess would just be checkers if we were all the same. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! -

Yes, I have been studying that very thing for the last 10 years. Try working in an industry full of bipolar/manics! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! -
Get a job in Portland working for Horizon Air or Alaska Air. Then you will have flight benefits an will be free to travel where ever you want. I can't believe your teenagers don't want to move to Maui from Portland! We've been moving back and forth from Portland to Nor Cal for four years now. (My husband works for Horizon.) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Hmmm. If you do 200 in 3 months, and then sit out all winter, you won't be current anymore. If you do a consistant 4 a week, then you're current. Same numbers different variables. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

That's funny. My daughter (3) also got to play with the "parachute". She accepted the differences, but informed the teachers that this is not the kind of parachute my Mommy sells. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Where is the cypres installed in the rig? Is that location abnormal? Is there a hard edge inside the container that the grommet tags on the way out? That's strange that it is just the one side. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Where is #5 out of 6? That's me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

LOL. They would probably love me for doing that rather than floating away like I do. I used to jump on a 4-way team of all women. The best part about it was, I dialed in my skills with women of similar fall rates. I didn't have to wear much lead and my progression rocked by jumping with the same people and having goals, etc. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

I had a room mate who used to eat kim-chee and cookie dough. One bite sour, one bite sweet, repeat. Aaahhh the memories. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

I keep it consistant with my "Hard Deck" in freefall. Bail out under 1500 ft = Reserve. Bail out over 1500 ft = Main. This is JUST MY PERSONAL comfort zone. Every jumper should know their comfort level and make a plan. If you have a plan now, you won't have to ponder in a high stress situation. And drill it on take off. Lookat your altimeter and think, "If I left at this altitude, I would...." And visualize a nice clean exit and deployment. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Upsizing will actually present more factors into your transition. The Stiletto is no faster than the Sabre of the same size. It is just more responsive. So you will have the same amount of time in the pattern and for set-up if you keep the canopy in full flight. But you will have the ability to make it go faster if that is your intention. The idea is that you become a good pilot on the Sabre and if you are wanting more performance after that, then go to the Stiletto. But upsizing in the process, isn't really going to do much for you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Agreed. I am not a big fan of demoing containers either. Inspecting them for quality of craftsmanship, yes. But any given demo is not going to be custom built for you anyway. If you cannot pull with your right hand, how do you cutaway? Do you need an SOS system? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

If you want to cram a 190 into a container built for a 170, then try a Spectre. The pack volume is smaller than the Saber2. Don't get too caught up thinking that this has to be the container to accomodate all your downsizing. With the deal you are getting, your resale value will rock. I would also not recommend upsizing when and if you switch to an elliptical canopy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Eeewww. Remind me to never let you guys stay in my RV again! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Wow. Am I ever confused. Chopchop owns a company called Xibits. Our Video concession here at Byron is Spy in the Sky. And we have an instructor named Q. But I figure you are probably not referring to any of that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
