Skydiving and Football TOGETHER!

That reminds me of Charlie Brown. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! -
Good points. I think the first survival skill to learning high performance turns is recognizing when you are too low. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

No, I'm not from Byron, I live in Sunnyvale, but it's the closest dropzone to my place. And, even if tomorrow there's a dropzone right next to my door, I will still drive to Byron every weekend - because it is my *home* dropzone now. Keyword is HOME

Hmmmm. You are from Byron? Where is your "back yard"? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Before buying or selling gear, I ALWAYS ask home DZ, USPA# or license #. I have had all kinds of crazy scams hit my web site. I would suggest to anyone shopping eBay to ask a home DZ and then call and verify. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

That in itself is appalling to me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

I had 387 jumps when I got my rating. There was no coach program. Most of my jumps were RW training on a 4-way team. I had 34 training jumps for AFF prior to my coarse. I didn't know what I didn't know. But I wouldn't take "No" for an answer. Now the ground points. That was embarrasing! I got those points by the skin of my teeth! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Drew, how many spinners have you cut away from? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

You girls are kooks! I LOVE IT!!!!! Tell me again why we didn't party together in Rantoul? What happened to the good old days when our booths were side by side. Well. I mean, mine was really set up in the shadow of yours. But never mind that! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Where to get gear. Remote-ish location
GravityGirl replied to tnscorcoran's topic in Gear and Rigging
We do a good deal of business to Europe. Both new and used. Best bet is to check locally. If you cannot find anything reasonable, then PM me. I have a good crop of Swedes that bought all new gear and will most likely have some used stuff to sell. Free trade in the Euro Community, right? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! I know where you could get both of these brands at competative prices. Am I allowed to say that? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

I've had people bring in their rigs to the store to sell... "I haven't jumped it in a while, so I guess I should sell it....." Rubber bands melted in place. Or disintegrate. Lines with a memory much, much better than mine , and oh yes, that peeling, pleading, prodding attempt to open the canopy. Quickly followed by a phone call for the owner to come pick up their little jem! Gear gets weird when it hasn't been jumped in years, and kept in who knows what kind of conditions. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Pilot: As an instructor, you'll appreciate the glide it has coming back to the DZ if you are last out. Does well in the turns. Openings are sweet. The point that tips the scales with your comparison, IMHO is the flare. Are you in a position to be able to demo either canopy? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Attn:ALL HOTTIE SKYDIVERS Near California

Oh! Pick me! Pick me! Mathias is in town, and I just bought a new dress that rocks my cleavage! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! -
Okay. I guess you are assuming that the failure will happen BEFORE the pilot chute is deployed. In mind, I would assume that the failure would occur when there was actual movement. But then again, we all know what A.S.S.U.ME stands for. Clearly the fact remains to maintenance your gear and check for friction and abraision. I am just curious to see if an actual failure would occur with the constant pressure of a closed container, if it didn't go when you were yanking the closing loop around to get the sucker closed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
-
Explain to me why this would be a horseshoe. Maybe I am not understanding the point of failure on your closing loop. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

I'm not a big fan of starting on 150s for beginners. Even 90% of my female clients, I'll start on a 170. But I need more details about you to give advise. But I will tell you this. Decide first what you want/need. Then go find it. Don't find something and then try to make it fit your needs 'cause it's a good deal. Good luck. PM me if you want more specifics. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
