  1. Eloy Eloy -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  2. We left just in time. http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/0107Trucker07.html -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  3. True, and I do not think you should be obligated to bear arms, although some countries have done very well with that. However, by not opposing things like the concealed carry law, you allow people who are qualified, ie responsible citizens passing all requirements, off duty military personel, etc, and who feel confident to carry a weapon. I believe this will reduce the crime rate. Not everyone should carry. But if a criminal thinks there is even a 50% chance of getting shot during an armed burglary, etc, he might think twice. Even myself am not currently qualified to carry a firearm, but plan to be in the future. I am positive AggieDave is, and I would feel no hesitation being in a fast paced emergency situation with him. I think the more people there are who are prepared to defend their freedoms, the more you will see crimes reduced. And if someone is still criminally deviant enough to risk it, he might not live to repeat the crime. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  4. That would be true.... much more control somewhere like Eloy -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  5. Everyone always get stuck on the guns vs. no guns issue. I'd be happy to take my chances with looser gun laws, IF people who misused guns for criminal means were either killed or given life with no parole upon conviction. I agree that the criminal intent is a bigger fundamental problem than the means, of which guns are only one. WOOOHOOO. Alright we agree on something. I think we can get much more Draconian then we are. And I still think that banishing guns will only take them away from honest people. If responsible people defend themselves, you might start getting a lot closer to that zero repeat offender rate. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  6. Well that might be a fundamental difference then. I think the spirit of the law is more important. I think if you do not have a way of stopping criminals, they will attack you with or without a gun. By eliminating guns, you do not eliminate criminals. I feel that by allowing responsible citizens to carry guns, you go a step further and discourage/eliminate criminals. You can at least see my logic right? -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  7. Except it has 4 wheels? I don't get it. Plus it probably handles like a tractor. Anyone seen a boss hoss, the ones with v-8? They literally scoot around corners, because the back wheel is too big to lean. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  8. I still think the main point that I disagree with you on is that you lump all gun owners together. The legal gun owners probably don't want to interfere with your life. It is the ones already carrying illegal guns that do. ANd gun control will not change them, because their guns are already illegal! -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  9. Dang it if I had any left, I would really do that, that would be hilarious! Luckily I got almost no sandy grit due to desert landings. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  10. Actually I just wanted to start another Eloy thread Of course I packed outside too, some people did not. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  11. Anyone else notice little piles of grass in their gear last weekend, little leftovers reminders of Eloy?
  12. Well first off, trying to keep this thread light...always carry lots of ammo, ammo is cheap, life is expensive. J/K I will say that I have never been in Britain, but I have always been amazed at how the police often do not carry guns. Perhaps in places in Britain there is not a need for them. Also, as this thread has tried to point out over and over, it is all about perspective. For instance in Texas, there are still very many places where you may need guns to protect yourself from animals not people. Many rural homes I have entered had a shotgun or 22 by the front door to scare off coyotes attacking lifestock, etc. On a sidenote, you might be surprised to see gun ownership in Arizone be very high as well for similar reasons, but crime lower due to less urban population. I have no idea, I am just surmising. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  13. Oh my gosh, what all could that apply to? You mean American are pushing responsibility for their actions on others? I agree totally, and could ramble on, but I will try not to flame. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  14. Yeah I missed the Roadking part. I think the Roadking's have rubber mounted T-88s in them. So I can see the vibration. The softtails have hardmounted t-88B engines with are counterbalanced. Not much vibration...althought I am wondering about getting one of these for the pinion pad www.viberider.com -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  15. I think it ou might have the wrong type of harley
  16. See now this might be a tempting topic for a thread other than eloy. Sturgis is very cool, although i think the scenery makes it, not the people. Although the first time you see bikes as far as the eye can see is pretty cool. OH yeah but ELOY is damn cool -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  17. I have to say that South Dakota is awesome! The area around Sturgis and Spearfish Canyon is some of the most gorgeous land I have seen. As far as scenery goes Eloy sucked...but it ROCKED in so many other ways.
  18. Well interrupting our glorious thoughts about Eloy does not stimulate mine
  19. You know all you really have to do is start an interesting thread. If you post it they will come. Past examples have been: boobies, favorite music, boobies and beer, tit-tee bar, etc. But randomly interrupting about various states is not really very interesting. But while we are on the topic. I vote for Texas, although the drive to Eloy is much too long. We drove 14 hours to Eloy from Texas. And we brought a lot of beer from Texas to Eloy, although the free beer in Eloy was good too. Next time I got to Eloy I will probably fly to Phoenix and drive to Eloy. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  20. This one time at Eloy..... Well not sure if you were in Eloy or not.... But this weekend at the DZ, I kept hearing myself relating to Eloy every 5 minutes. I guess it was just that fun. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  21. Good point...however there are also some little gems hidden in a piece of legislation...I think it is called Satellite Home Viewer Improvement Act. Cannot find the reference I want right now. But the MPAA/RIAA had some lobbyists stick in some hidden provisions at the last minute that had almost nothing to do with Satellite viewers. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  22. Nice...I was unaware of this. It is really all a matter of what the corporations think we will tolerate. Unfortunately a lot of people these days, fail to even recognize the possibility of complaint and protest as an action. On a related note, updated firmware is now available for most DVD roms to remove region encoding. I figure before long you will also be able to remove the block that disables all digital outputs when playing DVD audio. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  23. I have to say I am pretty impressed this thread produced some valid statistics and interesting opinions. Often this topic=flame bait. I offer a collective beer to all. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  24. That is true, Sony tried the same BS back in the 80s, when they sued over video cassettes saying would ruin the movie industry. Guess Blockbuster disagreed. But in the more recent past, remember Dimitri Skylarov? -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  25. Or one could garner some interesting statistics about the correlation between post numbers and jump numbers. Does more posting cause less jumping? or Does more jumping cause less posting? As for dead horses, the real question is what killed it? a gun? or a guncontrol advocate trying to make glue to hold their arguments together?
