i may actually have felt a hard-on coming on just as i looked at it!!!!

this thread is great because of those pics. i especially like the shot of dave with his right leg into the wind. not only is a nice pic, but it's the message we are looking for.

i think ian has a good way of explaining it. it won't really matter which way you're facing. Nor how you do it from inside the door to outside the door. just make sure you're thinking of the relative wind and where you want to be positioned (generally) when you get out there. then follow his example up there.

How much did you spend in 2004 on skydiving
Vertifly replied to reddevil1's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
the average has got to be way above 2k. it could be more like 5 to 7ish. beer, travel, beer, repacks, jumps, packing, beer, courses, video, gear/accessories, beer, etc.... and, dammit, not one red cent is tax deductable -
it is worth a 5 minute wait IMHO

it's a chick-flick, but it has a good message if you pay close attention. i liked that.

I learned to funnel fear early on. If fear is an emotion, which I believe that it is, then i can re-focus that emotion on my physical gear. Hence the more afraid that i become, the more safe that i am. And that's how i do it.

i never dream about skydiving. only flying. but there is a significance, i have to hold my breath to fly; so, even in my dreams, flying has a time limit.

Xkeys Freezefest is coming - DAN???
Vertifly replied to Skyvanfan's topic in Events & Places to Jump
...i stuck a chute in my pussy. and, yet, another quote... what's that from??? -
This isn't atmonauti. If it were, he'd be moving forward or carving in the tunnel. Don't believe everything you read. Definitely an interesting position, and who know what he looked like before or after, but not the least bit of forward movement happening here.

'Vertical' is not to imply that we are JUST vertical. During the first few years of freefly, if i can recollect what the people around me were saying, the word was used as a distiction from the norm. Other distinctions being 'belly flying' or simply the horizontal position. No one distinguishes 'a four-way team' as JUST flat flying or a big way as JUST flat-flying either. Each discipline has its sub-catagories. Freeflying is 3D and calls for more distinctions because of its nature. IMHO, all stem from 'skydiving', so what's the big freakin deal. Just get out there and jump. Happy holiday! And NO, i will not be changing my forum name either... -
oh, so many good moments this year... it was a good year to capture one gift that i will not let go in here... that general observation is good enough... Happy holidays everyone!

we have the reminiscent cakes, cookies, and brownies scattered about from all the parties. it smells like a sugar factory in here...not complaining!!
-
when did you start flying?
Vertifly replied to grlsgotalot2lrn's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
solo #1, I was flyin... at about 200, 'controlling' a whole freefly jump was a light at the end of the tunnel... at 800, it felt like the sky was the limit but nowhere near done... until 2k, when it felt natural...like walking...especially when I'm current. -
Team Swooo is coming to Florida Jan 3-15!!!
Vertifly replied to alcarterra's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Swoo0 # 4:20 here!!!! Have a great trip down there! See you at freeze fest. Later tators. -
with tracking, the 'sweet spot' is more lazy atmonauti has an angle all-it's-own and demands more attention from your body positioning - period. albeit, it's only about 10-20 degrees different. FUN AS HELL THOUGH!!!

Sounds ok, the bigger the better if you ask me...
