  1. It's about 1/2 hour into it. He gets fired and they're (jerry and dorothy) on the elevator out of the building of the office. Great flick I think. If it is watched closely, you may see a lot of significant things that are good lessons in the movie. There is more to it than meets the eye. Like putting heart into your home, not work (or vice-versa). Never shoplift "the pootie" from a single mom. There is just a strong ethical undertone to it and how things can progress if they are approached with the right intention.
  2. The choices are difficult to compare. If there was one for 'other', I would vote for, "if you have interest or curiosity in something and want to know more then read about it."
  3. Those are good points. I'm am just advocating my ideas about investing time in the air and in the tunnel and team training. It's gotta be for something - but if it's for their own enjoyment, that's good too. It is just that talent levels have an exponential influence if you know what I mean.
  4. To curse it further: Saturday Sunny High 74°F Low 52°F Precip: 20% Sunday Partly Cloudy High 79°F Low 54°F Precip: 25%
  5. Better off just not saying anything rather than saying your not saying anything. I wonder who the first draft pic was...?..who is the sponsor?...and I wonder who are these mysterious flyers anyway? sheesh....not really. NFL is right...nice fckn life. Just get out there and enjoy flying.
  6. The point, if I may project, is that dedicating yourself (that much) to flying can only be done for more than just the fun/feeling of flying itself. At that level, you just gotta spread the word. Alchemy may already be considered the best team in the world. And rightfully so; they get ALL the training hours - if they can just get together to train. One owns a DZ and the other two, I can only speculate, have more air-time then I have sitting on a plane. If promotion of the sport/hobbie/competition/profession/or-whatever is their concern, then being a part of the events that propagate it is doubly-important. And I think that being at Nationals is an important selfless contribution when you are THAT good at something. These dudes deserve all of the respect for continuing to train hard, in what seems to be a decline in the popularity of freeflying. I mean, what can't they do in the sky? Maybe they got caught up or had a better thing going that weekend.
  7. Those facts haven't changed in a few years and they've been at Nationals during that time. Perhaps they're letting others take control.
  8. Cool. Wanna make out? Could not resist that.
  9. The weather is looking great for tomorrow!!! See everyone there.
  10. Dude, how bout a NSFW!!! nice though.
  11. Dude, I'm confused. Your going camping on one of the biggest boogies of the year and, in the same post, emphasizing my absence. Sup...still tough...who your daddy? Yeah, some head up shit sounds rad. Do you know where Stuey was keeping those smoke-bomb leg-mounts? Eric and I are planning to do some smoke atmonauti stuff... Gotta stop by the ARMY/NAVY store to check it out. SHWEEET!
  12. Perris has been considered kindof a meca for the past couple of years but I haven't heard much about it lately. The energy in skydiving/freeflying moves in waves geographically and in other ways too. I think a good bet would be to find someone who you click with, is an excellent teach and freeflyer. Someone who will teach you, in particular - what you want to learn, very well and go to them. Good luck.
  13. Dude, Does anyone freefly around here anymore...what is up?
  14. Can you explain what makes you think this? Is there a connection. Billvon is making a point about material things being replaceable. Same question for this sentence too...please. ? ...edited to add...i'm sorry but, bwaaahahahahaaaa...because I just read that second one again, you are a riot. sheesh dude.
  15. The "Hippy Pot Head Love one another group"... now that's freakin good. Perhaps more like the "Yuppy Pot Head Love One Another Group". And only when the lights go down...well, usually when the lights go down. hippy/yuppy freeflyers gotta look out for others too
  16. Wendy, Dave did mention doing "one-on-one's" and this is likely to include groups of low-time jumpers too if you just ask.
  17. Reading through this one too, I can only relate to those who can see through Eric's (assuming Eric is his name at this point) actions and care about him. Although, I would be just as leary as any other jumper in here about leaving my gear if he were around, given his reputation. Sympathy is one trait that seperates human beings from animals. And it is a trait that is useful for our co-existence. Skydiving is a small enough community that we could easily drive him out of (and into another - where he will continue to do this elsewhere). If Eric has a psychological problem with keeping his hands off of other people's property, then he needs to be in psycho-therapy...drugs rarely solve things for long term, only for a few hours. He seems to also have socio-pathilogical behavior; I was not at Rantoul, so this is hear-say of course. Again, he needs to get someone to listen to him about his conflicts inside. Do you think that alienating Eric, calling him names (who said "fuckin weirdo" - that is just your anger that needs helping), or declaring your own isolation from him is going to make him feel any better? Frankly, if I were angry about something and you alienated me, then you would be my next target. I know because I have been angry for extended periods of my life too. We've all been sick or have come-up-short in many ways. Have a heart. At least have a bigger heart than those who criticize rather than sympathize. Isn't it enough that someone has posted on the forum and stated that he is a good friend? I don't know about you, but that is enough for me. Some sees good in him and bunches of you are showing compassion - and that makes me feel good; not sure where all of this defensiveness is coming from really. Of all the people in the world, only a SMALL percentage of them have decided to make jumping out of planes a hobbie. For me, that is enough to call this man kin. How do you care for your kin? Do you alienate them when they do you wrong or do talk to them? Truly, I've done both, and believe me when I say that the latter always has a better outcome. Eric's ailment appears to be socio-pathological and kleptomania in nature. These are a few things we've identified and are a few things that need to be fixed. This will unlikely make him a danger in the sky. The kleptomania you may not be able to help with - only secure your belongings and hope he works it out. The second, you could at least try to help. Why don't you walk up to him and talk to him? Introduce yourself and ask him questions. Get him to talk. Perhaps he'll open up a little...and that is an excellent start. Just watch his hands and be aware that he may be very shy. If you aren't giving to those who need help, and you have the extra resources, you may as well be taking. And that is another form of kleptomania in my eyes.
  18. not for nothin...it was sunny and warm the entire week (was like 6 days) until the day we left. a definite oddity.
  19. yeah, well, least i was there and you were in boston...hahah wussup..still tough?
  20. That means you guys took it while I was there!!!!! Very uncool.
  21. Very cool to see the mirror that close. Weird though, it doesn't look much like an artist working. More like a woman in a blue dress. I was in London a few year's ago...it is usually at the Tate, but it wasn't there while I was and wanted to see it. I would imagine that the detail is the best part about it and have heard tour guides compare Renoir to him. It is supposed to be a representation of their relationship or bond, rather than their marriage. Funny how you see the station of the cross surrounding what is supposed to be a picture of the artist...directly between them...considering it was the artists idea to put himself there and knowing the full representation. Very provocative indeed. Sorry...museum studies is the next thing on my list.
  22. You're probably referring to the Arnolfini Portrait'. It is similar to what you are referring but it isn't a doorknob, it is a round decorative mirror. Dali is more a modern art mix. You can do a close-up on it here
  23. Yeah, I figured this would be a nice medium. We've received response from flyers in New York and PA. And of course, local freeflyers will come. Hopefully, we get people interested in travelling a bit. The event is going to be cool - it always is with the EC thing in Florida, and with DB covering the show... There you have it. John Klueg said that Swanson MAY be showing as well, but that is just a hear-say right now.
