haha, I guess I haven't been to enough places yet, but this is a problem I run into more often than the actual cut of fish being bad. It's when the place creates some weapons-grade concoction and slathers your poor unsuspecting dinner with it.

well, personally I like to come home after work and have a beer and relax (which is what I'm doing at the moment actually) but that's just me. you generally have to get pretty ripped to have a substantial hangover the next day, and you're right, from an employer's point of view, that's no good either. While you may not feel hungover after a little blazing session the night before, you're also not going to be 100%, which is not good. Nevermind the fact we're talking about an illegal substance. And while I enourage everyone to speak out against laws and regulations they feel to be unjust, I don't think ignoring them outright is the best way to make that statement.

is it that unreasonable to require your employees pass a drug test? If you smoked weed a couple times in college several years ago and you think it's going to come up on a long term drug test (or ebi/polygraph/etc.) then just tell them that. They problably won't care. If you smoke weed habitually and you're afraid it's going to come up, well then... you're right to worry.

The Starbucks could just say "no children under X years of age" if they really wanted to. That would make it so the child is not authorized to be there. Anyway, I never said I had a problem with it in general I just said some discretion is in order. Most of the time it's not going to be a problem, but I'm sure everyone can imagine a particularly unpleasant scene involving public breastfeeding. And in these kinds of situations it's absolutely ridiculous to disallow places of business to do something about it. I mean, I don't think there's a law against me cutting my toenails in public, but if I started doing it in a starbucks, someone is going to say something. -
